For now, it seems so, yeah. It's a bit easier to survive with, but we might see an M6 clear higher in the future.

I have found recently that a pure speed build through the marauders is possible through a combination of Danetta's Hatred combined with Marauders, and the Legacy of Nightmares. Grant it this in turns makes the build little bit more difficult to build for but its end results become infinitely more tangible for endgame progression combined with the gems Gogok of Swiftness, Bane of the Powerful, and Bane of the Stricken. To replace the Compass Rose use a Hellfire Amulet with a passive Steady Aim to make room for Night Stalker, Archery, or Thrill of the Hunt depending on your overall style. Replace cluster arrow with Multi-Shot passive Arsenal to improve your overall Rocket Damage and finish with Kanias cube: Weapon slot go with Dead Mans Legacy Armor: King Leorics Crown and Utility: the Elusive Ring  to improve the effectiveness of multi shot. Please Note that this build is designed for speed while maximizing damage without going for five turrets and maximizing your use of Vault as a Hatred Spender vs a Discipline Spender. My current rate as this is GR 62 but time is narrowed to a 13 minute due to lack of overall Damage. The opposite side for more effective damage and use of turrets would Equip the Bombardiers Ruck sack and your Hand Bow would Be Dawn because I prefer a Vengenance Build for true Damage output but you would lack the speed of the prior because you no longer spend Hatred for Vault. I have not tested this version so maximum rift is unknown

I'm trying to farm to collect the gear to build this. I'm using the Cold Skills that is the reason behind this build.

Rather than Vault - Tumble I prefer Smoke Screen - Displacement.

I have the quiver Holy Point Shot which makes impale two additional knives.

In the Kanai's Cube Weapon slot I have Karlei's Point which increases damage of impale by 375% and returns 15 hatred if enemy is already impaled. As per the build I have Frostburn & Ring of Royal Grandeur in the other two slots.

I replaced the Cluster Arrow right mouse button with Impale Overpenetration which is cold damage.

I'm using the bow Windforce which has 45.7% chance of knockback and the Bracers Strongarm which causes knockback to give 29% extra damage for 6 seconds.

You can't use LoN with Danetta + Marauders. If you have another set active, LoN does nothing.

At this point, you might as well just play Impale build with Shadow's set. You're trying to combine two sets that don't really have any reason to be combined, since they feature completely different playstyles. The Impale build ignores the majority of trash, instead hunting packs/elites and skipping most of the rift. On the other hand, Marauder groups up as many enemies as possible and uses spread damage to slowly whittle them down.

Hi,

i'm using this build regularily, it's actually the dh build with which i manage the highest grs (99 at the moment).
I have a few questions  about how to execute it best.

1 -> How does Zei's vengeance work with sentry dmg ? Does it consider distance between player and monster or distance between sentry and monster ? Still couldn't see well enough the difference, and the difference is 70% dmg so ....

2 -> Is frostburn really the best item to use in cube ? I imagined that witching hour equipped, with zoey's in the cube would achieve more dmg, even if it does not  freeze monsters with RoV.

3 -> about hatred gestion : cluster arrow is costly despite 40% HCR, and i wonder what routine others are using : i generally shoot 3-4 times with evasive fire, then 3-4 times cluster, then RoV, and loop till companion can be triggered and then i go wild and enjoy the hatred boost to install some new sentries. How do you play it ?

4 -> and last, what do you think of these stats ? some too low, or uselessly too high ?

- Cooldown Reduction 15%, hatred cost reduction 40%

- cold dmg +60%, cluster dmg +15%

- crit chance 50%, crit dmg +470%

Thanks a lot for the website btw, it's definitly useful !!

I wish d3 Sentry builds function Sentry as actual damage dealer instead of being a damage buffer. Would be fun

I agree, still fun though. I like rifts that are open and full of mobs  the build works best for me. Cubed up layouts I have to be careful. I also have a gold /DB variation for farming. It has worked well.

Cheers

First, just wanted to say that I've loved the guides/recommendations you guys present here on Icyveins. I wanted to ask how this sort of build stacks up in hardcore/console/groups?

I rarely ever come across guides that would involve group play on a console, much less of the hardcore variant. As a result, I see a lot of builds that focus on dps, and not so much about balancing dps with defense. Would there be any direct suggestions for something like this?

With the set build your using the endless waltz set. LON is passively good when shooting for maximum damage but is limited due to the need for ancient pieces. Danettas switches backflip to a hatred base burn which speeds up the build and with hellcat waistguard your grenade damage is amplified. Wrist is an optional reaper wraps for resource gain or wraps of clarity for mitigation in between rains of vengenance

Is Loaded for Bear better than Maelstrom?

Why not switch Ballistics to Grenadier instead of Single Out?

Why not use Magefist instead of Cindercoat? Magefist actually increases DPS.

This is far and away the worst build I've ever tried using. How the hell is this top tier?

With nearly full, well-rolled ancients I couldn't even come close to finishing a 90 rift. I died so many times I lost count. Couldn't kill trash, couldn't skip the trash to find elites without getting slaughtered. I didn't even make it to the damn guardian, gave up after nearly half an hour of banging my head against the wall.

Is there some mysterious secret to making this work or is it an early April Fools prank? For the life of me I can't fathom how anyone could see this as being better than the alternatives. So am I just doing it wrong or what? What exactly is the playstyle supposed to be, 'cause god knows I can't figure it out.

Git gud, noob.  And clearly you're playing the build wrong.  You must be accustomed builds that are elite hunters exclusively.  This is not that kind of build.  It's a "nuke everything" build.  You're not supposed to skip the trash to find the elites.  Kill. Everything.  Also you're supposed to be dropping sentries in advance of your own movement (who will start attacking anything close by, giving you a heads up; and they'll slow down anything trying to pass by) and using vault to avoid the rushers and to move quickly between packs if you want to leave a few stragglers or have a low density rift.  Templar is probably your best companion choice for this build, because he'll rush headlong into packs ahead of you and draw aggro.

Most of the builds pushing over 100 for DH on this season seem to be one of these two builds. Until we get a bit further into the season we probably wont see a clear cut winner, because these builds may change a few here and there.

Comparing these two builds has to do a lot with play style, plus when it comes down to it, I think multi-shot is to easy of a build to play. Granted MS is what I'm playing this season, but that's just because I enjoy speed clearing 70's with friends to help gear people out.

People should just play whatever they enjoy. If the two builds are very close to power level, just play whatever one you enjoy most. Its not like everyone in here will be pushing 110's+ every day. If you are content pushing to 100's and playing with friends, trying to get all ancients and get lucky on primals; both of the builds should work for that.

Hey Folks,

Any suggestions on how to make this work with a Xbox One ? Is it even possible to approach the damage in this build without the extra button? Or could anyone point me to an xbox forum. I haven't pulled the trigger on the PC game. I was just a casual but then I found out about seasonals and it brought me back to the game. I am currently ranked around 7000 in the leader boards and would like to goose it a little bit. If I can finish in the top 10,000 I would be happy.

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

      Season Theme
Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
In Season 34, awards originally available from Season 10 are returning. In addition to the Head and Shoulder slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Black Soulstone themed portraits and the scholarly Loremaster pennant first introduced in Season 10.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
Seasonal Conquests are additional goals you can complete as part of our Season Journey. To earn all the cosmetic rewards, you'll need to complete at least three of the Conquests below. The challenges available in Season 34 include:
Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five: Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a Level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete 2 Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at Level 70 in under fifteen seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Return to Top Seasonal Conquest
Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 33: Barbarian - Might of the Earth Crusader - Thorns of the Invoker Demon Hunter - The Shadow's Mantle Monk - Monkey King's Garb Witch Doctor - Raiment of the Jade Harvester Wizard - Firebird's Finery Necromancer - Grace of Inarius Return to Top Patch 2.7.8
Our next patch goes live on October 22 and introduces quality-of-life updates for demon slayers on Mac. New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback. Return to Top

Here's a preview of Season 33 and Patch 2.7.8 that will soon be available for testing on the PTR.
      Shades of Nephalem Theme
In the latest Diablo III Season, the Shades of Nephalem season theme marks a return. Activating a Shrine or Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class. The clone's power wil scale with your character and last for one minute or until death.

      Fourth Kanai's Cube Slot
In addition to the season theme, Kanai's Cube will have an additional fourth slot.

      Season 33 Start?
We expect Season 33 to start in late September/early October 2024.
      PTR Testing
Patch 2.7.8 will be available for testing for one week. Initially, Blizzard planned to test out the patch from September 17 through September 24, but they ran into some unexpected issues and testing has been delayed. New Mac executables for Silicon and Intel chips will be available in this build, as revealed by Blizzard.

The Patch 2.7.8 PTR will soon be under way. During this time, there may be periodic maintenances, outages, hotfixes, or minor patches. We urge you to focus your playthrough on the following:
New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback. So that we can efficiently review your posts, please provide feedback in the PTR Feedback forum and bug reports in the PTR Bug Report forum.
