Patch 7.3.5 Official Patch Notes

Recommended Posts

qqu3wLz.jpg

The release date of Patch 7.3.5 is January 16 for NA & January 17 for EU. Zone scaling, Ulduar Timewalking, new story in Silithus, changes to combat resurrection mechanics in Mythic Keystone dungeons, and more content is available in Patch 7.3.5!

In addition to our coverage that can be found by visiting the Patch 7.3.5 hub, there are a few changes worth noting:

  • The patch does not contain any major class changes.
  • Combat resurrections mechanics in Mythic Keystone dungeons now function just like in raids. When you start a run, you begin with a single charge and an additional charge is accumulated every 10 minutes. All combat resurrection spells share a single pool of charges to a maximum of 5 charges.
  • Accounts protected by an Authenticator and SMS Protect gain four extra backpack slots.
  • All dungeons reward Personal Loot now.
  • The official patch notes do not take the recently announced changes to Legendary tokens in Patch 7.3.5 into account.
  • Allied Races will be available later and there's no single mention in the official patch notes about them.

World of Warcraft 7.3.5 Patch Notes

New Features

A SCALING WORLD

Every zone in Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, and Draenor now use the level scaling system introduced in Legion. This new scaling system greatly increases the amount of options you have when deciding where to quest and when to move on to the next zone.

All corresponding dungeons and the rewards therein now scale as well.

ULDUAR TIMEWALKING

A long-forgotten evil has awakened once more. Travel back in time with 10-30 other adventurers to cleanse Ulduar of Yogg-Saron’s evil influence. While you journey through this memorable Wrath of the Lich King raid, your character will be scaled to player level 80.

Your fate is sealed. The end of days is finally upon you and ALL who inhabit this miserable little seedling. Uulwi ifis halahs gag erh'ongg w'ssh.

SILITHUS: THE WOUND

Players who have completed Antorus, The Burning Throne will be summoned to your capital cities, from which you’ll travel to Silithus to investigate the strange events surrounding the impact of Sargeras’ blade. Look for this new questline upon logging in.

NEW BATTLEGROUND: SEETHING SHORE

The Alliance and the Horde fight over a precious new resource, Azerite, in this new 10v10 battleground. Seething Shore is a king of the hillbattleground where the first faction to collect ten pieces of Azerite from randomly spawned nodes, wins.

The Seething Shore will become available as the story in Silithus unfolds.

Updated Features

LEGENDARY ITEMS

Arcanomancer Vridiel’s hard work has paid off, and he now offers a token that transforms into a random Legion legendary for your specialization, for 1,000 Wakening Essences. You can also continue to come to Vridiel to upgrade the Legion legendary items you already have for the same cost of 300 Wakening Essences.

MYTHIC KEYSTONE DUNGEONS

Combat resurrections mechanics in Mythic Keystone dungeons now closely mirror how they function in a raid encounter. When you start a Mythic Keystone dungeon, you will begin with one charge, and accumulate additional charges every 10 minutes. All combat resurrection spells now share a single pool of charges to a maximum of 5 charges.

HOLIDAYS

Holiday dungeons are now available to all players starting at level 20. Items that drop from these dungeons will scale to your current level. In addition, keep an eye out for new items in many upcoming holidays, such as new Lunar Festival hats and a sturdier Sturdy Love Fool.

S.E.L.F.I.E

Self-oriented photographers rejoice! Your S.E.L.F.I.E. CameraS.E.L.F.I.E. Camera is now easier to obtain, and it has new background filters. Selfie Cam Mark I is available at level 15 in Stormwind or Orgrimmar via a quest, and you can upgrade to the Mark II Selfie Cam after completing a new level 30 group quest.

We’ve also added the following backgrounds, but you’ll have to figure out how to unlock them.

  • Argus in the Sky
  • Twilight Sky
  • Sha Sky
  • Firelands Sky
  • Frostmourne Sky

So, for clarity since backpack slot can be read two ways ...

Does this mean the base 16 slot bag becomes 20 slot?

Or does this mean we get 9 total bag slots now?

I figure the first option, but wanted to ask.

whoopdeefrickindoo  4 extra backpack slots!  just let us replace the backpack with any bag we want like the other 4 bag slots!  Hell I would even be willing to pay 5000 gold to upgrade it to a 30 slot bag!

So happy. I have hated these toys forever. I know some people liked them, but I never liked the idea of my character forced into an action without my input. I hope this also applies to the moonkin statues. That I could run away from them, click off the buff, and see it re-apply itself repeatedly was beyond frustrating.

@Stan According to the website for NA it's now saying 1000 for legendaries, 300 for legendary upgrade.

Fixed, thanks!

It isn't stated above, but does the current PvP season end with 7.3.5 launching? I hope not, still need 4 RBG wins for saddle.

bullcrap that we have to go do a raid to unlock the new quests!  believe it or not there are players that don't do raids! I hope these quests are not requirements for doing anything in the new patch and instead are just bonus storyline that's not required for anything!

i do believe the final wing of lfr releases this week as well, and I'm sure LFR is sufficient to start the quest line.

As far as I am concerned, they have decided to ignore solo players. All the stuff that I have hated in Legion: Raids, zone scaling, etc. all vacuum for the solo player.  I guess that it is time to drop out and save 16 bucks a month.

Allied Races will be available later and there's no single mention in the official patch notes about them

Spoiler

It's been data mined that BfA is required for Allied Races so it will be awhile before we get them.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

For the next two weeks, the Archaeology quest for Spirit of Eche'ro is available on live servers, so don't forget to get the rare mount before it's gone for 6 months!
How to Get the Spirit of Eche'ro Mount
      1. Download MapCoords or some other add-os that displays coordinates in the game.
      2. Teleport to Azsuna from the Stormwind/Orgrimmar Portal Room or use your Dalaran Hearthstone to reach Dalaran (Legion) if you have one in your inventory.
      3. Seek out Archaeology Trainer Dariness the Learned in Dalaran at 41,26 and learn Archaeology if you already haven't.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
