New Hero Teasers: Jan 24

A new Hero teaser is visible in the Blizzard Battle.net app. If the latest Hero leaks are correct, Mal'Ganis should hit PTR fairly soon.

Update: Blizzard teased the Hero for a second time today.

Mal'Ganis is described as an Assassin that relies on constant heals during fights from dealing damage to enemies. The first teaser can be found below and we'll update this thread when more of them become available. Let us know your thoughts in the comments in the meantime!

Damn, that Mal'Ganis art made me thought it was confirmed.

Oh well, at least it's something linked with Demons, but that crystal reminds me of the Demon Hunter scenario.

Can't help but feel we're getting a Warden. I can only hope it's going to be a dual reveal in the likes of Genji / D.Va and Alex / Hanzo and we're getting a Warden and Mal'Ganis

Maiev's name has also been going strong in the interwebz today (HGC chat). Green color is a strong pointer towards Mal'Ganis ofc (WC3 days...) We could also very well get baited like with D.Va and Malthael, you never know...

The leak mentioned him having a life-leech ability, which is something that Balnazzar had in WC3 (Vampiric Aura). So by taking a wild guess I'd say Blizzard will mash-up Mal'ganis and Balnazzar kits together to make him feel very unique.

Man I hope it's Maeiv. She's one of my favourite characters in all of Warcraft. Would be interesting to see if/how they would port the Warden abilities from WC3 though. Avatar Of Vengeance sounds like it would be hard to implement in HOTS.

As others have discussed on another thread, Val pointed out that it is EXACTLY a year since we had our last stealth hero, Valeera. Maeiev as a Warden from WC3 had the same kind of stealth that we've seen in the rework where it only makes a hero totally invisible if they are standing still and passive. Besides this and the way the teaser is presented, I am betting heavily on her.

I personally would love to see Maiev rather than Mal'ganis. She is one of my favorite characters in WoW (mostly because of her design, since she is kinda of a bitch).

However, I wonder what different gimmick would give her since Zeratul pretty much functions like Wardens in WC3. Maybe they could incorporate the Vengeance system on her trait where she gains stacks of buffs when friendly minions dies (pretty much Black SoulstoneBlack Soulstone in reverse), with one of her Heroic Abilities being the Avatar of Vengeance, where she would either summon another Maiev or make something where her Basic Attacks and Abilities hit twice.

I don't know, just theorycrafting here.

I'd put my money on the Dreadlord - just because the leaks were damn spot on so far. And I'd second Vals thoughts about mashing the Dreadlords together. Sleep would work really well in Hots, I mean Ana has it already - which would take away some wow-factor. IIRC it was a targeted ability in WC3 though so there's that. Carrion Swarm on the other hand seems very, very likely and would easily fit the game. And if lifeleech is really going to be a thing, the vampiric aura would fit perfectly. I think it was one of the abilities "generic" skirmish Dreadlords got too. If they'd implement the aura as an actual aura though, meaning allied heroes would get lifeleech as well, some of them - cough Tracer cough - might get a little out of hand :) Although most of them assassins have some leech anyway if I'm correct.

If they add a warden I can see Maiev too, since she's the most prominent one in WC/WoW Lore, and there are some bits already in the game. She's the most prominent warden for sure - but not the only one. At least in theory it would be possible to add Cordana or - to an even lesser extent - some other Warden with history like Sira Moonwarden.

Concerning Maiev and stalth - did she rally have stealth or just the classic Nightlef Shadowmeld? The latter would make her clearly visible unless standing still (at nighttime that is) - I quite frankly don't remember...

Hm.. didn't even think about that, but seems pretty spot on. The only difference I can think of is Shadow Strike and Singularity Spike working slightly differently. Apart from that - Blink is Blink and Cleave is basically FoK - with another animation.

Maiev wouldn't be a perma stealth hero. That's just not how she is. I reckon her trait would be the shadowmeld thing where she gets Invis when stationary but moving while invisible isn't something we'd ever seen Wardens do. Also Avatar Of Vengeance, IMO, would be something like a heroic to use on an allied corpse, like Auriels, and an ally gets to play as the Avatar for X seconds - since the spell is meant to conjure the vengful spirits of fallen allies. Her thrown dagger should be like Kerrigan's poison trait, a low dmg dot that lasts over a long period and doesn't slow. To make her Blink different I think it should be cast on an enemy and deal bonus damage on the next AA. No idea how Fan Of Knives could be different to cleave though.

Aye, it's no secret Zeratul's kit is pretty much the same thing as Wardens, but games like HotS thankfully can do a lot of creative things with abilities that share a lot of fundamental concepts (a circle that damages everything in its radius is pretty common). Fan of Knives could be turned into a more skill shot based ability than Cleave's bread and butter for example and we've seen a lot of variations on Blink and Teleport abilities since the game's release. We also know that the ults would be wildly different too at the very least.

She had Shadow Meld and Hide (which is disabled during daytime).

Nope, Shadow Strike and Singularity Spike work exact the same: damage and slow. The minor difference is that Shadow Strike is a DoT, while Singularity Spike deals single damage after one second.

I like that idea. Currently Auriel is the only character that can interact with Heroes after they die; having another one would be pretty interesting.

Indeed. Remember how everyone was worried about Garrosh being added since Varian and Muradin pretty much snagged all the iconic abilities from WoW Warriors? I'm pretty sure the Dev Team can come with some pretty unique kit for Maiev, without a doubt. If anything, they could even borrow some abilities from Cordana in Legion.

Gonna love it anyway if its Maiev or Malganis. Both characters are awesome and need some new light after their journey in wc3 and wow. Maiev need priestess skin on start and Mal ganis could have some Scarlet crusader themed skin

A knock on Maiev, at least as another stealth character, is that it creeps ever closer to that problematic all stealth team that functions as a sorta roving death squad + Abathur who also practically has stealth if played well. Even if it doesn't turn into the strongest team at high levels it would likely be a frustrating and unpleasant  experience at lower and middle levels of play.

My bet is on the leak being correct, as it has been so far.  I'm expecting Mal'Ganis.

Yep, totally. You can see bright ending of cloak, just like that white fur on Maiev back. You can see pair of blade wings on her back. There is also something like circle back in the right hand, at least shade of it. Now saving gold for her. No matter how they will make her i need to buy Maiev.

      The quest collection requirement for The Regeneration Master Talent has been reduced from 30 to 25. Heroes

      Basic Attack damage increased from 150 to 160. Lightning Surge [E] Healing increased from 70 to 75. Telekinesis [W] Knockback speed now slows down over the duration of the knockback. Push-to-point distance increased from 6.25 from where Telekinesis was targeted to 12.5. Talents
      Level 1 Overwhelming Power REWORK: Healing reduced from 50% to 15% of damage dealt. Level 13 Kawarimi Fixed an issue that caused Mirror Images created by Kawarimi to not have the correct starting health while affected by Blessing of the Red. Level 16 Harsh Winds Fixed an issue that caused Harsh Winds to not apply to Burning Blade damage dealt by Samuro. Sgt. Hammer Base Concussive Blast [W] Targets are now knocked away a point 2 range behind where Concussive Blast was fired, instead of Sgt. Hammer's position. Targets will now move in the direction where Concussive Blast was fired. Stitches Base Hook [Q] Now shows progress to Extended Hook as Stitches levels up. Stukov Level 10 Flailing Swipe Fixed an issue that caused Flailing Swipe to not knock all targets back an equal distance. The Butcher Base Ruthless Onslaught [E] Fixed an issue that caused Ruthless Onslaught to not interrupt in certain situations.       Ten years ago, the Nexus opened a realm between realms…where anything is possible. Over the years, you have braved this tumultuous universe, commanding some of the most legendary Heroes from across Azeroth, Sanctuary, the Koprulu sector, and future Earth. 

      It’s this community that has made Heroes of the Storm so special, and we’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone alongside you. From now until the next patch on June 15, all Heroes will be free! Plus, everyone who logs in during this time will receive two brand-new portraits to showcase their time battling across the Nexus.       We’re also excited to release a never-before-seen skin into the shop! In honor of Heroes of the Storm’s 10th anniversary, as well as Warcraft’s 30th, what better Hero skin to release from the vault than the one and only Thrall? Gear Head Thrall is now available through the in-game shop for 1500 Gems. And keep your eyes peeled—the Classic Games team is combing through the archives, searching for unreleased skins that would need some finishing touches for release, possibly bringing us more in the future.
