Improving Destro

hi everyone 

 

at the beginning of the patch i thought destro will be far weak then other two specs

i started to play affliction, but i noticed i still kicking more with destro

so i went back to it.

i'm happy with the results i think i do decent dps

still i wanted to know if i can improve it more with stat weight

 

i'm using AMR 

Hit > Mastery > Crit > Haste

still it gives more haste over crit

currently have 122.13% mastery 

32.76% haste

20.54% crit

buffed

 

i don't think i need that much haste for destro

i thought maybe to drop haste for crit

if i take the first haste breakpoint, the minimum haste

i get will be 20.75% haste and 27.32% crit

 

last night i got my 4th set piece and i think crit will benefit me more then haste

 

what do you think?

So let me save Zagam et al from saying it: adjusting haste/crit is not the thing that will improve your DPS; proper mechanics will. I am sure someone wiser than me about this will have some smart input from your logs, but there is also a ton of information in the stickied topics. In general: are you keeping Immolate up? Are you casting Chaos Bolt while your trinkets have procced? Are you using Havoc/Shadowburn to cleave damage around?

^^ additionally, when using mrRobot for optimization, make sure you are setting a haste soft cap. And it depends on what you want to play as off spec, if anything, because by looking at your logs, you seem to go Destro on every boss. If so, you could do with 2021.

Yeah, just from cursory examination...don't worry about stats right now, focus on getting the destro playstyle down.

 

Also, did you have a link to armory or am I just guessing off logs that you're on EU-Stormscale?

At Single target: Crit > Haste

At AOE: Haste > Crit

 

 

With 4tp i think in Single target haste gets some value, at least u need to fill 1 ember every 10sec~ to maintain the 15% crit buff at the higher uptime possible.

 

I see a few fights of u, and your immolate uptime is kinda low, around 70% and your RoF uptime was kinda high, around 25%.

 

So I think u need to learn the spec priority, using RoF only with Tempus Repit or Bloodlust or 2+ targets and try to reach at maximum uptime possible in immolate. Less than 90% is REALLY BAD.

 

Also Your Chaos Bolt it's kinda week, you should aim to use it with strong procs ( of your trinkets ) or if u are with 3.5 embers.

With your Ilvl your avg dmg of Chaos Bolt should be around 900k~1kk

 

 

PS: In aoe fights, use Gosac.

Haste and Crit are nice.  They work together well.  Just keep Mastery as your number 1 and you should be fine.  As some of the posters above have mentioned, it will be far more meaningful to increase your Immolate uptime, learn to better adapt to procs in order to maximize Chaos Bolt, and maximize usage of Haunt, Dark Soul, and other CDs and procs.

I know the basics of destro

Sometime I do miss renewing immolate because of encounter mechanics

I will focus on this manner as start

I also throw chaos bolt when procs are up

unless I get close to full embers and didn't get any procs

so I use one or two
