New Hero to Be Unveiled Next Week

Hi guys, we'll be releasing info next week on the next hero!

And beyond that, believe me, we've got a ton of cool stuff coming through out the year (including a bunch of new heroes). We're eager to share each addition to the game with you just as soon as they're fully baked. :)

On Saturday, we wrote about a datamined homescreen of the Tristram Cathedral and thought we may see a Hero from the Diablo franchise. Then we learned about the StarCraft anniversary and multiple websites began reporting that Blizzard plans to add a StarCraft Hero and a new brawl to the game to celebrate the game's 20th anniversary. A spanish MVP tweeted the same thing, but it should all be taken with a grain of salt.

According to the latest 4chan leak, the Diablo Hero is supposed to be Imperius with Mira Han & Matt Horner being released later. But we know how reliable 4chan leaks are, right?

Surprise, surprise, it's Imperius. Assassin. Has a root, basic attack empowerment and a displacement. His trait grants him movement speed and healing from basic attacks. Heroics allow him to dive to enemies at global range or empower his abilities and cheat death if he kills a marked opponent.

Next after him are Mira Han and Matt Horner from StarCraft. Specialist and Support. They're another wacky Hero like Cho'gall, because they can't be drafted separately, but they are individual entities on the map.
For abilities, Matt has those scouting planes (can attack and are controlled manually), supply drops for allies (heal, attack speed, ability power) and global missiles. Mira's abilities are to mark areas so Matt can launch his missiles, attach detonating lasers to walls and a silence grenade. Their trait is that they both benefit from either of them using the healing fountain, in addition Mira's basic attacks reduce Matt's ability cooldowns and Matt can empower her abilities for additional effects, like Kael'thas. Matt's heroics allow him to create combat vehicles or a large electric field, Mira's heroics are a large stun that is followed up by an explosion or an ability empowerment at the cost of being revealed on the map until she uses Hearthstone.

Next after them is Reinhardt from Overwatch. Warrior. Pretty straight forward kit. His shield blocks basic attacks on him and his allies behind it, ability projectiles don't go through it, it has it's own recharging health bar. His trait is his swinging basic attacks. Heroics are Earthshatter or activate to make his shield indestructible. 

After him is Broll Bearmantle from Warcraft. Thorns, shout, bear w/ stun, bleed slow, demoralize. Heroics barkskin & stuns from attacks.
After him is Vashj. 
WORDLIMIT

Maiev went live on February 6 and Blizzard recently talked about their plans in 2018 to support standalone Hero reworks by spreading out Hero and Battleground releases. The latest Medivh & Sonya reworks went live earlier today. Players will be able to unlock three StarCraft themed portraits from March 27 through April 7 so if a StarCraft Hero is planned for the anniversary, chances are we won't see a Diablo Hero before that.

Whatever happened to the multiclass system? Why did they abandon it? It doesn't seem that hard to balance

Charge stun + Smash = dead target, along with a bunch of other problems Varian had and has in terms of balance. He was universally hated more than Valeera for simply deleting squishies and just face tanking literal 1vs5 and coming out the victor, and now his talent diversity is generally gutted and you can normally tell what ult he is going to take looking at his early talent pick as well as team pick, more so than other heroes anyway, but even to this day trying to figure out in draft if your Varian is planning on going Twin Blades, Smash or Taunt is like drawing blood from a stone half the time. It was a semi decent concept, but hardly the Udyr of HotS. I guess any hero concepts they've released since simply haven't matched a multiclass theme, as well as ongoing considerations and work being put into defining each individual hero's role much more clearly going on, before they come back to it. 

This year has been great so far for hero releases, the leaks might not be reliable but they definitely line up with the kind of crazy themes HotS likes to throw out for sure.

If Imperius and Reinhardt really happen, I would die from happiness.

But after the fake Mal'Ganis call, I'm not going to get hyped at nothing, we'll see what we get next week.

SInce everyone can see this leaks, including Blizzard, I think it's fair to assume they would change up their order of new Heroes, even for other reasons than this.

They could change up future release order, but it is March 7th as I say this and whatever their next hero will be the only hero far enough along in development to release this month.

I hope it will be Belial, I wonder how they're gonna play the fact that he is the master and Lord of deception (for dummies Belial less voploshenie evil ,and Baal the Supreme embodiment )

Han and Horner??? You friggin kidding me? WHERE'S FENIX?

And seriously, who gives a !@#$%^&* (censorship) dime about Mira Han? Yeah, yeah, she was a funny extra, comic relief character, haha, ok. I liked Matt a lot as a character in the campaign. First they bring this.. thing with him as a co-op commander and now this? Why no stand-alone? Has it ever occured to them that I'd like to play Matt without needing someone to pick that thing? Cho'gall's entirely different and it makes complete sense for them to be drafted together... What is this bullcrap? Or to put it in Starcraft words "..we've just had a whole cargo ship full of whoop-ass dumped on us" (points to whoever got the ref).

Well I for one one think the idea of Matt & Mira sounds pretty cool. And the moment I saw Mira in the SC2 campaign I was like '<3 @_@ <3! I need more of her please!' So I'm excited to hear this and hope that it's true. Also it's Blizzard doing more of what they should be doing in HOTS that makes it different then other MOBAs. More fun characters and different ideas then the other guys in this genre. :) So I look forward to it. 

Imperious as an assassin? He was the leader of the Archangels. He should be a true big beefy badass tank and dish out some good damage too. Tyreal is like a half ass tank. But I guess if he was super tanky and did great dmg too that wouldn't be very balanced. So they had to decide on one or the other.

Reinhardt huh. One of my good friends plays him almost exclusively in OW. So he's gonna be ecstatic if this part is right. 

Of course all of this discussion we're having doesn't mean anything If this spoiler report isn't true. So we'll just have to wait and see how much of this all comes to fruition. :)

Thats an easy fix then if you just add a talent or 2 to every level. but yeah it all makes sense.

It's not that Fenix has been a fan favorite (not just me, literally MANY people) and heavily requested since beta or that he would surely bring Blizz a lot of munniez (much more than these 2, I'm willing to bet). If he's not released for StarCraft's celebration, being such an iconic character, I'll kinda lose hope he ever will (or they'll just bring him as a skin for Artanis... >.< )

I'm afraid the "leak" will hold true about these two because the new brawl I saw mentioned was titled "Mineral(s).. " something, minerals make you think about mercenaries so...

Looking at this more I don't think they will do another mandatory co-op hero like chogall. They seem to be veering away from mandatory grouping with none of the events having the "play x games with a friend" quests. Then there's also the fact that Cho'gall is the least played hero in the game. I think they'd have a good enough read on the community to know that this simply isn't what the community wants or would be excited to get

If Samuro activates Image Transmission or if a new Mirror Image is created, any Mirror Images that are updated will copy Blessing of the Red if it is present on Samuro instead of increasing their maximum Health as if Blessing of the Red were cast on them. Level 7 Crushing Blows Fixed an issue that caused Crushing Blows to apply to the triggering Critical Strike. Level 20 Three Blade Style Fixed an issue that caused Three Blade Style to increase Mirror Image maximum health if Samuro gained Blessing of the Red between the Images being created and the talent being selected.
