Sephuz as Survival

Recommended Posts

In Raid boss combat, what should I be doing (if interrupting isnt an option) to trigger Sephuz? Net doesn't work on bosses. Is this leggo only for the stats it gives and occasionally the proc?

It's usually for stats and 2% haste from passive effect.

It's possible to proc it on some bosses, though.

On High Command, Eonar, Hasabel, Coven and Aggramar you can proc it.

It's tricky on Coven -- you'll need specifically norgannon adds for this.

On Aggramar it's easy on nm -- you just harpoon between small adds. You'll have to cc them in hc+ -- that works as well.

Other option is to ice trap adds - since I haven't played current SV since launch, I don't think it has binding shot, but if it does that works too on small adds. It's mostly there for the stats and movement speed (which is also how it sims, not taking into account the proc).

Any time you proc the effect, it's just added dps.

Thank you for this. I was not aware that sim did not account for proc. Makes me feel much better about using it in raid.

I mean it sucks when you play in a team that has a lot of Sephuz wearers and they're all fighting for the interrupt, but it makes it very nice on bosses where you can CC (aggramar is one).

My RL specifically instructed hunters not to Freeze trap the adds on HC.  We have a lot of dot classes, and freeze trap drops all those dots/bleeds.  He and I confirmed it out in Argus, once I got my view plates setups in ELVUI correctly.

Correct, the frost trap removes all DoTs, but you can still interrupt the pyro on high command so there is no reason to use the trap on that fight. The freeze trap is only really useful on coven and aggramar.

You can run a casting sim instead of the regular patchwerk and it will include sephuz procs.
