hey guys ! so im back with a few new pieces of loot heroic warforged pieces to be exact boot and chest and i was wanting to know how my gear looks and if there's anything i can change or do differently like higher haste or mastery or you know w.e you guys are the brains hahaha  http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/gear/usa/illidan/v%C3%A9ltr%C3%ACx armory is in signature

 

also id like you to know after finding this guide ive spend SOOOOO much gold trying to optimize my gear LOLOL so i hope it looks good hahaha

You have a bit too much hit rating, but it can't be helped unless you have an item with similar ilvl to your current items with less hit. In fact, that 0,2% hit is not that "OMG the world will explode".

AMR would suggest to change like 2 gems but again it's nothing too bad. :)

Your rotation looks quite good to me however, I have seen a glaring mistake. Almost every time BF or 2nd FoF procced, you casted at least 2-3 another Frostbolts. This is a potential DPS loss because you are basically wasting new procs. You could also pay a bit attention to use the 2pc bonus a bit more wisely. Save up one FoF, then when BF procs do sequence: FFB, IL, then continute the rotation. But I also forget about this sometimes, so.. :)

 

Don't forget to use your CDs on cooldown as soon as possible. I don't know if delaying them was intentional in the video or not, but just keep this in mind. :) In fact, you delayed your CDs so long in the video, that almost no trinket procs were up when you used Alter Time. ^^

 

You refresh Invocation way too early. For the first time it still had 7 seconds, for 2nd time it had ~20 seconds. 2 seconds remaining on it is safe, but the best is if you start channelling evo just as your previous invocation expired.

 

Regarding to Living Bomb. I find it awesome that you have Weakauras set up to indicate if the bomb is on short duration. However, you don't have anything to track your trinket procs which would be essential for snapshotting. Right now, you just refresh your bomb when it expires, whilst the best DPS output is through snapshotting:

Whenever you get an intellect/haste proc and your bomb has lower than 6 seconds duration you refresh immediately to empower the bomb.

 

First option looks the best to me as well.

Sorry for the late reply, I was out for a long weekend.

 

Stat weights are never static. Everything you do from a gem swap, to your raid, to getting tricks or not, to your raid leader telling you where to stand all play a role in stat weights. RNG itself impacts stat weights, too.

 

Frost mage right now is a stat weight game, but it's far too complicated to even be worth attempting to map out the weights.

 

You can take the min/max approach to it with some examples, which I did in a couple of the lists. Also you can find the best way to reach 14242 haste and then max mastery. For these strategies, stat weights themselves don't matter at all other than to trick AMR into calculating things properly.

 

So basically yeah, ignore them-- I just used them to get AMR to behave how I wanted it to. All my data is in a spreadsheet and on Lhivera's TC Lite.

 

Ahhhh understandable  Thanks for clearing that up.  My brain was like I'm totally not getting the same BiS gear you are but yet I have things set up "correctly".  Also thanks for the note about the spreadsheets,  I was skimming through your guilds forums and got a nice set of info thnks so much!

Hi, long time reader first time poster, lol.

 

I recently was able to get up to the haste break point of 14,242 although I had to do some pretty aggressive haste gemming to get there. I realize that some of my individual gear pieces don't have optimal distribution of secondary stats, but it's what I've got to work with without dropping huge ilvl. I was just hoping to get a quick opinion from one of the experts if my gear gemming/reforging seems to make sense? I don't have a recent log handy, but I know my dps feels a bit lower than I think it should be at ilvl 554.

I think, you sacrificed too much for that soft cap.

Like look at your socket bonuses. You have lost almost all of them by doing this. I would advise you to go back to 12684 break point for now, or if you don't want to fully regem everything, just switch your gems around so you get the INT socket bonuses but the seconds solution will be far from optimal.

 

Regarding to "I do lower DPS than I'd expect" I can only say, I can give you less advice than I could if you don't have logs. ^^

 

Generally though, your DPS loss is like 5% because of bad gearing and 95% because of bad gameplay. This is why logs are so important.

i have a question. Im playing frost, mix haste/mastery build. I've reached 12684 haste soft cap. I used to play with 4 set (12684 haste cap), but recently i changed tier leggs for Leggings of FF (both 561 2/2 ilvl). I lost 4 set, but gained more SP, haste and mastery. Then i changed tier gloves (i saw back on pages, that they are BIS) for Montak's Grip of Scorching Breath Warforged (567 2/2 ilvl). I kept tier 2 set and again gained a bit SP, same Haste and 1% more of Mastery. Currently my stats, self buffed are: 40283 SP, 42,98% Haste, 24,12% Crit and 58,72% Mastery. Is it worth it to go only for 2 set like this or better to keep 4 set?

Ask mrRobot suggests to keep 4 set in favor of both combinations. Any suggestions? My current ilvl is 562.

Ignore what AskMrRobot says about 4 set. How much SP/haste/mastery do you have with the 4 set equiped? The general rule of thumb is that 2x WF off piece > 4 set. However, exceptions do exist(Juggernaut pants are god mode). I'd need your armory at least to find out more information for you.

Ok I am in pretty much in need of some assistance on the gear situation I have. I have all tier except the shoulders which I hope to get Thursday. My problem is that I have several warforged items that I am not sure would be better for me or not. I have  Damien's Ice-Vein Mask,  Ebon Ritual Hood and Flameslinger's Fiery Cowl. Now I've mixed and matched each one and my main problem is if intellect outweighs haste for a haste build, which I'm currently at 16,622 unbuffed. Plus I have read the graphs Akraen has posted and still not sure if nether tempest is better or not then living bomb even though I just reached my 19th tick for NT and 6th for LB. I'd say Ebon Ritual Hood for sure! Mastery-Haste secondary stats with a red gem socket. It's just perfect! :)

However, if you don't have any other items that would give you the 2set bonus, then do not switch. 2 set bonus is just so good! :)

 

LB is always the best on Single target. ^^ If it was some other way around, Akraen would have noted it in the guide.

Thanks for the quick reply, also is there anyway to actually check what our weights should be since simulation craft is obviously not correct. I know Int is our main stat, but is there a time where its ok to lose some int to gain more haste and/or mastery?

That math is quite surprising, I might have a look at it later to see if you are actually right; I've come across similar theory during my fire shenanigans, but I never expected it to actually hold any value for Frost.

I am very interested in where this is going. Currently I have a lot of haste and crit gear with a few pieces of mastery/crit and haste/mastery gear and am still gearing up!
