There is a mistake in the noble sacrifice section .. You said the defender will always which is wrong .. If u have redemption with noble sacrifice you will indeed have the defender as a card.. Only if the hero or the minion attack you or deal un fatal blow on one of ur minions..

I am unsure what you even mean, your wording is pretty incomprehensible.

If you have Noble Sacrifice and redemption, when the opponent attacks with any card, then it will trigger the Nobel Sacrifice, causing the attacking minion/player to deal damage to that instead.  If you have Redemption as well, the Noble Defender will come back with 1 health.

Hey.

While you are right, the guide is also not mistaken. Redemption triggers when the minion dies, so the statement that the Defender will always die is correct. The Defender will always die. It has 1 health, and no attack can trigger it and do less than 1 damage. The fact that the defender can come back through Redemption has no bearing on the fact that he does die :)

Defenders spawned from Noble Sacrifice can live under one condition - there's a card in play that buffs minion health.

Examples:

Stormwind Champion gives all your minions +1/+1, meaning any Defender that spawns from Noble Sacrifice is going to be a 3/2.

Sword Of Justice buffs minions you summon with +1/+1, meaning if you have a SoJ equipped when Noble Sacrifice is triggered the Defender will be buffed to 3/2 BEFORE being hit.

If you have both a Stormwind Champion AND a Sword Of Justice active, your Defender will spawn as a 4/3. Pretty meaty.

That's a very good point! I'll update the guide accordingly :)

in the Redemption section, every mention of where "Redemption" should be is instead refered to as Repentance.

The section on Repentance references killing off an enemy with Fireblast - I'm fairly sure this is impossible unless you manage to play both paladin and mage at the same time! biggrin.png

Just a note on Redemption - while it's probably obvious to many, you can use it in a more offensive manner as it enables you to suicide one of your minions and get it back straight away.

While there are dare-to-dream scenarios with legendary minions with powerful deathrattles (imagine something like Cairne - you cast redemption, trade Cairne with something, then get a Baine and a new Cairne for your troubles, who will eventually spawn a new Baine if not silenced), there are simpler scenarios aswell. For example, it's arena and you're going first. On turn 3, your opponent cast a Shattered Sun Cleric buffing their Dire Wolf Alpha. On turn 4, you can cast your Wolf Rider and Redemption, bash into the Dire Wolf, then bash into the Cleric, clearing the board for subsequent turns. If you have a nice turn 5 play to come, like a Silver Hand Knight or an Azure Drake, all the better.

I salivate at the thought of pulling it off with Argent Commander. Nom nom.

The repentence paragraph mentions using it in conjunction to fireblast. I can't see how that's possible.

Patch 1.0.0.4944 (2014-03-11) means that all secrets now will only activate on the opponent's turn.

Eye for an eye does not proc while hitting a minion with your weapon anymore and Jax wasn't up to date. You can't use it in a more offensive manner anymore.

Not as important but another way that the Defender can live is if a minion that attacks has a chance of attacking another minion, it has a chance of not attacking the defender i.e. Ogre Brute attacks your 7/2 Dr. Boom, triggers Noble Sacrifice, attacks the Defender, then redirects his attack back to the Dr. Boom.

Another way for the noble sacrifice to live is one of my favorite paladin combos...

Turn 1 noble sac

turn1 Something like lepper gnome

Turn 2 Juggler

Turn 2 lepper gnome attacks juggler, triggers noble sac with triggers jugglers 1 dam shot, which kills attacking minion.

"Paladins have access to 5 Secrets. All Paladin Secrets have the same cost of 1 Mana Crystal. We will list the Secrets before going into more details below."

In the guide it's written that there are 5 secrets, but there are 6.

In case of Sacred trial being activated - does the minion gets to perform its battlecry? Or is it destroyed before it reaches battlefield?

One more question - in case of multiple minions dying simultaneously which one is first brought to life by Redemption?
I assume the one that was played first. (I think this info should be added to the article)

And yeah,
"Paladins have access to 5 Secrets. All Paladin Secrets have the same cost of 1 Mana Crystal. We will list the Secrets before going into more details below."
There are actually 7 secrets as positiv2 has already mentioned.

When playing Redemption and Avenge (in that order) and have 2 minions on board, Avenge triggers first even though they are both triggered by the same action and Redemption was played first.

This is not reflected in the guide: "Specifically, whenever two or more Secrets which can be triggered by the same action are active at the same time, the Secret that was played first will trigger first"

Thanks for pointing this out. Redemption is an exception to this rule, as it always queues last.

Hearthstone is taking a bold step into the StarCraft universe with "Heroes of StarCraft: The Great Dark Beyond," a 49-card mini-set launching in January 2025.
Featuring iconic factions like Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, complete with legendary leaders Sarah Kerrigan, Artanis, Jim Raynor, this set blends StarCraft nostalgia with Hearthstone's gameplay.
Additionally, Arena Mode is getting a massive overhaul, introducing shorter Normal Arena runs and a high-stakes Underground Arena with a game matching "re-draft on loss" mechanic, giving you the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive, after you lose.
The year ahead promises 3 expansions, including the Emerald Dream's battle between Old Gods and Druids, a return to Un'Goro Crater, and a Chromie-led journey through alternate realities.

Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft – The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set
Early next year, Hearthstone is going beyond Warcraft and into... Heroes of StarCraft! This special Mini-Set will have a whopping 49 new cards across three themed factions, which show what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. Each faction is made up of cards that can be used across multiple classes, including an iconic Hero card.
       Zerg
Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock have joined the Zerg! Led by the formidable  Sarah Kerrigan, they will have aggressive cards that win the game by swarming the board.
       Protoss
Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue fight for the Protoss Empire. Led by the High Templar Artanis, they will have powerful, high-cost cards that are made cheaper throughout the game.
       Terran
Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior make up the Terran forces, led by the one and only Jim Raynor. They will command Battlecruisers—a special take on the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
The Mini-Set will feature a slew of StarCraft units which are sure to invoke nostalgia, as well as the Terran-armored Murloc, Grunty, and new, thematic music. You can chart a course for the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching in January 2025! More announcements, details, and card reveals are coming closer to launch.
       Major Arena Updates
Then, for the first time in 10 years, Arena Mode is getting a major overhaul. With that update, there will be two kinds of Arena to choose from. Normal Arena will be shorter form, allowing you to complete your runs more quickly. Competitive Arena players will be able to play in the higher-stakes Underground Arena, with longer runs and a new feature: Re-Draft on Loss. Re-Draft on Loss means that, after you lose, you’ll have the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive.
Ratings will also be added to both Normal and Underground Arena. Normal, skill-based matchmaking will be used for Normal Arena. Underground Arena throws caution to the wind and lets you face off against opponents of all skill levels.
This major Arena revamp is coming in the first half of next year. Look out for more details about this update closer to when it goes live.
A Preview of the Year Ahead: The Year of the Raptor!
On top of those updates, Hearthstone has an exciting year of expansions ahead, with much-requested themes, locations, and familiar faces across Azeroth.
In the first expansion of the year, enter the Emerald Dream and join the battle between the Old Gods and the Druids of the Emerald Dream for the fate of the World Tree. Things will heat up even more when the Druids of the Flame light up the Mini-Set (releasing earlier than normal this year, during the 32.2 Patch).
The second expansion of the year will be Hearthstone’s first-ever sequel: the return to Un’Goro Crater! Join Elise on a hunt for a mythical, lost Tortollan city. When you find it, join the Tortollans in a festival to celebrate the mighty dinosaurs of the crater in the 33.4 Mini-Set.
In the third expansion of the year, travel with Chromie through alternate realities to recruit Legendary Warcraft heroes like you’ve never seen them before. Leading to the 34.4 Mini-Set: an epic showdown against Murozond at the end of time!
