Hearthstone Hunter Decks

Guest Vinyl Scratch

Just one small non-basic tweak, for people with a little Arcane Dust: You may want to put in Faerie Dragon instead of Bloodfen Raptor. In exchange for losing the Beast type (which admittedly is relevant with almost a third of the deck), the Dragon fares much better against Mage, Hunter, Shaman, and Priest.

tbh i dont really understand this deck at all.

yeah you were very clear that you need to go at the enemy char with alot of damage early game and finish him off mid game.

i have played 5 games atm with this deck and i got slapped every game, early to end game.

and yes i have made every char and used all that you had on your list.

luckily for me 1 of my opponents fucked up big time and i could win 1 late game with a bit of luck.

im sorry to say cause i love icy veins BIG time, i really do but iam not gonna play with this deck 1 more game sorry.

i dont see how this can be good

This deck works quite well actually. I made some personal tweaks such as trackings and flare to speed the deck up and do well against the mirror/rush paladins/mages, and hunter's marks to deal with those huge early taunts that druids seem to love. Hounds to 3 mana has slowed the deck down, but it needed to be done, it was overpowered in the hands of good players. Prior to the hound nerf I won 90% of my games in the rank 7-10 bracket prior to season end. With hound nerf I still win 70% of my games. Still this needs to be revised for nerfs and such.

Hi. I find your decks very interesting and fun to play, and also a good way to better understand how the game works. Are you planning to update for Season 3 also all these Hunter decks and the "Aggro/Rush" Rogue decks? Thank you very much!

All our decks are updated for season 3. If there's something not "modified" for Season 3, it probably means we didn't think any changes were needed.

And thanks for your words :)

With the new Maexxna (the new legendary you earn when defeating the first 3 bosses of Naxxaramas) out it would be a great addition to one of the hunter decks as it's counted as a beast and works basically the same way as the Emperor Cobra. The two together could get very dirty and work well in just about any hunter deck. I tried to link the cards from Wowhead but I couldn't figure out how to do it, sorry.

Maexxna is great for control hunters indeed (until you get a Kodo :D)

Finally new decks, after the Buzzard nerf. ^^ Can't wait to try the legendary one. Tho I need to craft The Black Knight and Leeroy Jenkins (disenchanted it). What can I substitute them with? I've put a Reckless Rocketer to substitute Jenkins and Maexxna for Knight, but I think Owl/Spellbreaker or Kodo would be better to replace Knight.

First, I wanna say I am a golden Hunter, so I won more than 500 matches with this class. So I know what I am doing. I was rank 11 when I started playing with this deck, and now I am 10.

Hunter Face Aggro/Rush Naxx Deck:

9W/11L (20 matches)

Hunter - 4W/4L

Shaman - 1W/3L

Mage - 1W/0L

Paladin - 1W/0L

Warrior - 0W/1L

Rogue - 0W/0L

Druid - 0W/1L

Warlock - 1W/1L

Priest - 1W/1L

In my opinion, Undertaker feels a little useless in this deck full of charge and instant damage. What surprised me was the power of the Arcane Shot. I won kinda 4 times because of it! ^^ After 20 matches, I can say this deck is not as strong as it is supposed to be. Because this is supposed to be the strongest Hunter deck from here, right? And with this deck I have advanced only 1 place in the Rank after 20 matches. Hmph, I am gonna still test it. Anyway, I really like how fast I can damage the enemy with this deck. It amazed me how many times I won with the enemy having full board control. Maybe I am making mistakes and that is why I am not winning as much as I should with this deck.

"After 20 matches, I can say this deck is not as strong as it is supposed to be. Because this is supposed to be the strongest Hunter deck from here, right?"

What gives you that impression? It's a powerful deck, but it is not necessarily better than the other Legend ranked deck, or even the Undertaker Midrange. It depends on the matchups you face and the state of the meta you are playing in as to which deck is better.

I would start by saying just because you've played a lot of Hunter, does not mean you are playing outright Face Aggro correctly. Despite having a reputation for being brain dead and linear, playing outright Aggro is one of the hardest things to do correctly. If you make one small decision wrong, it can lead to losing the games. Where as playing Control often means the game goes longer so you have more time to recover from a mistake.

I can vouch for the deck, I've played it successfully in Legend Rank, and it has been used in tournament by many high level players. Looking at your matchup sheet, it seems like you should be performing better than you have been. This deck struggles when up against a lot of Warrior and Priest, but the matchups you've faced seem quite appropriate.

Regarding the Undertaker, you need some early game stability in the deck. It's important to get some sort of board position in the opening turns to build a platform to compound damage on. Since like you observed, often you will be hopelessly behind on board in the late-game, it's essentially to get ahead at the start and try and leverage that position for as long as you can.

I've uploaded 17 decks since the release of GvG, sorry if the specific thing you're looking for hasn't been uploaded yet, but i'm only one man, and I have to cater to everyone.

Do you think is alright to upload 4 paladin deck, but for Hunters just one NOT new deck? Not to say that rogue has NOTHING new! XD You could at least 1 for each class, then more, not a hundred to one and nothing to other. No offence. Just that I was so looking forward to see a control deck from you guys, because the deck from here were always good. Everyday I refresh the page to see if the thing came up.

Its because Paladin was one of the only classes that Sottle hadn't made a deck for before GvG so it makes sense

Exactly, I hadn't reached Paladin or Warrior at all before the release of the new set, so they took priority when it came to getting GvG decks up.

I am a new player. How exactly is the arcane dust cost calculated when it comes to naxxrammas cards? For example, one aggro/rush deck costs merely 880, but naxxramus cards do not seem to be able to be crafted without earning them in the naxxramas set. I do not wish to spend money on the game, and the first step of the naxxramus quest is 700 gold. This is equivalent to 7 classic packs. Assuming 4 common cards and one rare card, each classic pack is worth at least 40 arcane dust, and 7 classic packs (700 gold) is worth 280 arcane dust. Are calculations like that factored into the deck cost?

Found a little mistake at the Control deck.

There is no loatheb in that deck.

With what would be good to substitute Dr. Boom, Ragnaros and the guy that destroys the weapon? XD Because I do not have them atm. I was thinking of Loatheb instead of that guy, King Krush instead of Ragnaros and for Dr. Boom?

Something with a powerful Deathrattle effect is best, so you can get good value out of Feign Death, which is one of the (many) advantages of Dr. Boom, so Cairne, Sneed's Old Shredder etc.

Hello! First of all I wanna thank you for the awesome decks. And now, my suggestion, I mean.. what I wanna ask for, are 2 decks. I know they don't really fit in the current meta and that you won't be able to get with 'em past rank 5 I think, but still. I'd like to see how would 'em be made by Sottle or someone pro. Let's call 'em "Just for fun decks". First is a control hunter. I know there is one still, but it is out of date, it's not playable anymore (in my opinion). I'd like to see with what will ya come for a control hunter. And the 2nd that I'd REALLY like to see, is a beast synergy deck. Yea, I know the beast synergy is pretty dead, but still. A deck with Gahz, with Krush, idk. A full beast deck with beast synergy. I'd like to see how would it work. Please do it! Thanks a lot for readin'! ^^

Hearthstone is taking a bold step into the StarCraft universe with "Heroes of StarCraft: The Great Dark Beyond," a 49-card mini-set launching in January 2025.
Featuring iconic factions like Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, complete with legendary leaders Sarah Kerrigan, Artanis, Jim Raynor, this set blends StarCraft nostalgia with Hearthstone's gameplay.
Additionally, Arena Mode is getting a massive overhaul, introducing shorter Normal Arena runs and a high-stakes Underground Arena with a game matching "re-draft on loss" mechanic, giving you the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive, after you lose.
The year ahead promises 3 expansions, including the Emerald Dream's battle between Old Gods and Druids, a return to Un'Goro Crater, and a Chromie-led journey through alternate realities.

Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft – The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set
Early next year, Hearthstone is going beyond Warcraft and into... Heroes of StarCraft! This special Mini-Set will have a whopping 49 new cards across three themed factions, which show what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. Each faction is made up of cards that can be used across multiple classes, including an iconic Hero card.
       Zerg
Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock have joined the Zerg! Led by the formidable  Sarah Kerrigan, they will have aggressive cards that win the game by swarming the board.
       Protoss
Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue fight for the Protoss Empire. Led by the High Templar Artanis, they will have powerful, high-cost cards that are made cheaper throughout the game.
       Terran
Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior make up the Terran forces, led by the one and only Jim Raynor. They will command Battlecruisers—a special take on the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
The Mini-Set will feature a slew of StarCraft units which are sure to invoke nostalgia, as well as the Terran-armored Murloc, Grunty, and new, thematic music. You can chart a course for the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching in January 2025! More announcements, details, and card reveals are coming closer to launch.
       Major Arena Updates
Then, for the first time in 10 years, Arena Mode is getting a major overhaul. With that update, there will be two kinds of Arena to choose from. Normal Arena will be shorter form, allowing you to complete your runs more quickly. Competitive Arena players will be able to play in the higher-stakes Underground Arena, with longer runs and a new feature: Re-Draft on Loss. Re-Draft on Loss means that, after you lose, you’ll have the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive.
Ratings will also be added to both Normal and Underground Arena. Normal, skill-based matchmaking will be used for Normal Arena. Underground Arena throws caution to the wind and lets you face off against opponents of all skill levels.
This major Arena revamp is coming in the first half of next year. Look out for more details about this update closer to when it goes live.
A Preview of the Year Ahead: The Year of the Raptor!
On top of those updates, Hearthstone has an exciting year of expansions ahead, with much-requested themes, locations, and familiar faces across Azeroth.
In the first expansion of the year, enter the Emerald Dream and join the battle between the Old Gods and the Druids of the Emerald Dream for the fate of the World Tree. Things will heat up even more when the Druids of the Flame light up the Mini-Set (releasing earlier than normal this year, during the 32.2 Patch).
The second expansion of the year will be Hearthstone’s first-ever sequel: the return to Un’Goro Crater! Join Elise on a hunt for a mythical, lost Tortollan city. When you find it, join the Tortollans in a festival to celebrate the mighty dinosaurs of the crater in the 33.4 Mini-Set.
In the third expansion of the year, travel with Chromie through alternate realities to recruit Legendary Warcraft heroes like you’ve never seen them before. Leading to the 34.4 Mini-Set: an epic showdown against Murozond at the end of time!
