Avenlite 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2018 I'm trying to decide what dps to play in bfa and I want to try balance since I was a resto main through bfa. However, even with the high gear I got while playing resto I can't manage to pull any dps. I did a sim of myself and it said I should be at 2.7k dps, but in play I can only manage 1.9-2k steady. Am I doing something wrong?https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/gqdAGwbCmvhDJkX1/#fight=last (sorry it's LFR and I died partway through due to a tank failing flame rend, I hope it's enough data)https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/lightbringer/Rosara

Nothing interrupts the DPS flow unless you tell the sim to interrupt it, so it's unlikely you're going to be beating your sims unless you get lucky on RNG procs or it is a perfect Patchwerk fight (Varimathras is the closest, assuming your instant casts line up with puddles being dropped). Aggramar has a lot of movement, an immune phase (which is pretty bad for Boomkin, since your DoTs keep ticking but deal 0 damage, therefore hitting your DPS levels down), downtime between spawns, etc. You also don't have Advanced Logging on, so I can't comment on your movement, resource management and such. I'd recommend taking a log that has the following: You are fighting Varimathras. You don't die. You activate Advanced Combat Logging. Nonetheless, the most glaring issues: You do nothing for the first 3 seconds of the fight. Because of the above, you don't really have any sort of proper opener. Judging by the number of failed casts/cancelled casts and downtime, you don't position yourself well for the fight, but I can't check that since there is no replay (no ACL enabled). Why do you delay your second Fury of Elune for so long, but then use it when Aggramar goes immune? It wasted the CD, as well as meant it would have wasted casts had you survived long enough. If you post another log with the things I said above, I can help some more on this.
