wow Zappy Boi Is Not Dead and His Name Was Revealed

The standout star of the Battle for Azeroth intro cinematic was clearly everyone's favorite shaman, Zappy Boi, and he may be featured in the Saurfang cinematic precisely for this reason (or Blizzard may have known he'd be a hit even sooner), but there have been some concerns that he's the troll Anduin kills in the Battle for Lordaeron. We can all rest easy as many redditors and twitter...people... (tweeters? tweetors?) have made sure everyone knows that is not the case:

Not sure why anyone ever thought he was dead. They're clearly different trolls. One has red hair, one white. Masks are different and so is the armour.

True. But the screenshot of Zekhan standing next to Sylvanas happens AFTER Anduin kills the masked troll in the BfA intro cinematic, which is what the tweet was actually referring to. He just used the close-up picture of Zek from "Old Soldier" to further prove his point.

That is just because of Shalamayne unleashing his power. In fact the look he gives at the sword right after the killing blow is like "was that me?"

He's not Vol'jin's kid, Zappy boy mentions his father name in Saurfang movie and it is not Volj'in.

I wonder why there is so much hype around this young troll ? Maybe the game simply desperately needs some new, fresh, young characters.

There is one big trap about storytelling that people constantly fall into. As long as you're not hearing character's thoughts - they might be lying (or be oblivious themselves).  So, based on this cinematic alone, you can't say he isn't.

Given how VJ had at least one more son, trolls' custom to hand over children to different tribes, visal resemblence and the way he backtalks and disobeys the living legend of the Horde - no, it's not something impossible.

Exactly....the horde is led by a walking psychotic corpse....its high time that blizzard invents some new fresh heroic characters so that the oldtimers can retire...or can be taken care of....

This is pretty much what they did with SC2 Legacy of the Void. The scarred Protoss had his own little clip talking to Artanis before the great battle.

I'm still waiting for Drek'Thar to come down from Aterac Valley and take charge of the Horde.  Pretty sure he can boot stomp Sylvanas.  If there is one Orc with more clout and power than Saurfang it's Drek'Thar.  Thrall was Frost Wolf and Drek'Thar is Frost Wolf.  The ideology of the Horde came out of the Frost Wolf clan.  Perhaps it's time a Frost Wolf take back mantel of WarChief.

During Cataclysm he is in a wheelchair (Hillsbrad quests) and in Legion he sometimes shows up in the Shaman class hall. I can't recall the exact conversation you have with him there, but my impression was that he dosen't have very long left to live.
