Island expeditions and warmode

Can you tell me if pvp is enabled when doing island expeditions for azerite or can you grind azerite without being ganked?

I think you have a wrong view on how island expeditions works. If you dont queue for PvP island expeditions, there is no PvP. Its a PvE or even better a PvNPC instanced szenario. 

I just heard you should activate warmode to get the 10% bonus...if its true or not, i didnt checked it. But it definitely don't hurt to active it, there is no downside at all.
