WeakAuras being used to hack!

Hey guys

 

As I'm sure some of you are aware, the latest update for WeakAuras contains malicious programming designed to take all of your gold. Apparently, you will get an incoming link immediately after login post-update that, if clicked, will allow someone to take your gold.

 

There have been more advanced hacks perpetrated that cause GMs using WA to lose control of their guilds resulting in the guild bank being drained. This happened to Sparty of the Death Jesters on Stormrage US this past week. The DJs lost over a million gold worth of mats/items and of course the gold itself. All of it was recovered after tickets were submittted to Blizzard however they lost significant progression time.

 

To deal with this before it happens to you, do NOT update your WeakAuras. Instead, follow the instructions here ---> http://wow.joystiq.com/2013/12/06/safeguard-yourself-against-weakauras-gold-exploit/  to download WA2 and have the same functionality as you had before without the whole lose-all-your-gold BS.

I thought that WA wasn't being updated any more anyway? But yes, WA2 is good.

 

Sorry, misinterpretation on my part. It was, in fact, an update and clicked link from WeakAuras 2 that caused the problems. WA2 should still be updated in the manner of the instructions found at the above link. And, as always, don't click a link from anyone you don't know. smile.png

 

Except for the link in my original post. That one's OK. tongue.png

The original post you linked doesn't make it clear whether it's WA or WA2 which has the problem.

 

Never mind, I never import anything from other sources anyway :)

      I already know how to make a progress bar that will simply track how much time is left on my DoTs on my target and tick down.

      What I want to do is create a progress bar for my DoTs that will track their duration as being out of a fixed number (say, 24 seconds), instead of always updating the maximum of the bar to be whatever the duration of the DoT was when it was last applied.

      So, I was just wondering out of curiosity if there was a way to change the weakauras trackers for sunfire and moonfire to be based on an absolute value of the maximum time sun/moonfire lasts for rather than being based on a percentage of how long the DoT has been active on the target. Basically, doing it the normal way, if you have Nature's Balance (which you should) then using solar wrath or lunar strike will extend the duration of sunfire/moonfire, respectively. However, basically all this does to the tracker is make it decrease slightly slower each time. For the sake of convenience I'm just going to refer to it as a bar because that's what I use. I want it so that when the DoT is at its maximum possible duration, the bar is completely full, and then decrease from there. That way, it's less confusing.

      Hey,
      Is it possible to track multiple mobs by their name around me for what they're casting with weakauras?
      I'd really like to keep track of the infernals in The Highlord's Return challenge, since i really can't keep track of them while 5 other things are happening which usually ends up me flying in the twisting nether, picture related.
