Recommended Posts

39649-season-15-overview.jpg

Season 15 was supposed to end on December 16, but the Diablo team decided to extend it and the new end date is January 6. Season 16 is scheduled for the week of January 11.

The new Season will go live with Patch 2.6.4 that was available for testing on PTR.

Hey everyone,

In order to ensure a smooth transition between Seasons, and give players extra time to enjoy the Double Bounty Cache buff, we will be ending Season 15 on January 6. With this, Season 16 is scheduled to begin on January 11.

As a quick heads-up, we will also be resetting the current Era leaderboards on January 8, so you’ve still got some time to push for that final leaderboard placement before the rollover occurs!

Good luck,
- Tyvalir

What we really need is a Double Bounty "Forgotten Souls" cache somewhere, since we burn through them so much.

IMHO, Blizzard would've been better off keeping the December 16 end of S15, and opening S16 just before the xmas/new years holidays, ...

Just because nobody wants Diablo Immortal, Is that a reason for Blizzard to vengefully chase us onto PoE. ?

Those Blizzard dev's really are lazy aferall.

Seasons are fine and all but just put Immortal into Diablo and keep adding to the game. I want to hear from a fan who actually wants Diablo to go to mobile. Just because there is a lot of games on the phone and tablet doesn't mean no one is using PC. Seriously look at WoW. But Blizzard isnt looking like they listening to the fans anyway.

Are the starter sets (from the seasonal journey rewards) going to be the same as S-15? Only played S-15 (NSwitch) so unsure if they change each season or not. ?

They change them up every season.

Considering they announced said changes November 19, I'm not sure how you've been "waiting ages" for them.
That being said - I too was annoyed to find that the season had been extended almost an entire month. It'd be nice if they were taking time to make other improvements and changes - I'd give my left nut for pets to pick up Death's Breath and/or crafting mats - but, whatever. I guess I'll go farm some bounty mats.

well considering diablo 3 has gotten 0 changes for AGES, then weeks does feel like AGES ...

also, if those timer "globes" in Rifts/Greater Rifts were just automatically picked up and/or given credit for, during runs, -that has been an age-old issue with D3 that needs to be FIXED. !

Any theorycrafting ideas on the most impactful build given you will have a freed up RoRG slot?
Or is it just dumbed down to "oh yeah, slot in ring of elements instead of that, and if you already had ring of elements, well slot in focus restraint or compas rose and cube it or something"

Since, (for S16), you won't need a RoRG anymore, then any, and every set build will now benefit from not having to wear/cube RoRG, which yes, free's up another Ring/Cube slot, and that's it.

-not sure if that's what u meant ?

What I would like to know is,

Many times we see the all buffs/benefits of Seasonal patches applied to regular/non-seasonal play,

But why is Blizzard implementing the (no need) buff of RoRG into S16, but NOT into the regular non-seasonal players. ???

In other words, what's the point of playing a "crippled" regular/non-seasonal character now ?

Yep, I just did an Act IV bounty tonight Dec.16, and I only got one cache.

wow, wtf,  I thought Blizzard wasn't ending Season 15 until January 6, 2019 ?!  Can't they make up they're minds? -Blizzard owes us some cash, or is that cache ? ?

"Any theorycrafting ideas on the most impactful build given you will have a freed up RoRG slot?" is literally what I meant.
I mean I get all builds benefit, but which one will benefit the most?
Given the "mutator" I want to know if someone crunched the numbers and said "this and this build will have the most impactful and fun slot to benefit from it."  Also if there are more creative ways to take advantage than slotting focus/res or compas rose.

Ah k, but you're gonna have to be more specific than just, "What's the best build for S16.. "?  For example, in my case, I'll be looking to build a viable (Monk) T13/Rift DB runner with 2 sets now, Sunwuko/WoL, and Sages set, thanks to not needed RoRG. But ya, there will obviously be many, many other possible Class "Set" mixes too, coming soon, some better than other's.

It looks like our "icy-veins" site here are gonna be busier this upcoming Season drafting some extra (mixed) Class Set build tutorials for us, hopefully?.   ?

At the end of S16 when our toon gets converted from a seasonal to a normal, will they keep the RoRG effect, or does that build then become worthless for normal gameplay, requiring a ring change?

Wow I had not even thought about that. Makes me rethink a lot about season 16. Spend tons of time testing new builds that will all become obsolete when season 16 ends. Need time to think about that...

Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five: Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a Level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.
