dark iron dwarf prot (tank)

hello here,

 

got a question, im playing dwarf pala tank and know the who and what.

now i made a dark iron dwarf pala tank, plays awesome.

problem, i cant aquip a shield, game ceeps naging about DUAL-WIELD.

so i went to ironforge and sw to learn it, but nope.

is this a tallent to unlock on a higher lvl or ......?

is it actually a shield you are equipping though? not trying to sound condescending here, but the only way I was able to replicate the "you cannot dual-wield" message was by manually dragging a second 1h-weapon into the off-hand slot.
