Recommended Posts

8.1.5 is coming to the PTR very soon and we have some developer notes to find out what's coming with it! The two new allied races are coming, with Zandalari Trolls and Kul Tiran Humans finally within our reach, some new invasions of the Naga variety, some updates for capital cities (new portal rooms) and WSG and AB, as well as new War Campaign quests, Wintergrasp as an Epic Battleground, the return of the Brawler's Guild and a lot more!

You can also check out our allied races guides for more info on what we'll be getting and how to unlock them.

Blizzard Logo8.1.5 Dev Notes (source)

We’re underway with the deployment of our first build of WoW 8.1.5 to our Public Test Realms. We expect it to be playable soon, and we want to start discussions about the features of the update that we’ll be testing:

• The Kul Tiran Allied Race unlock
• The Zandalari Allied Race unlock
• Naga invasion World Quests
• New portal rooms in faction capitals
• The next chapter of pet battle Raiding with Leashes
• Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin visual improvements

Our testing in this first build will be primarily technical, so some 8.1.5 features will be locked/unavailable for the first few days while we work on initial concerns:

• New War Campaign quests
• New quests and questlines focused on Magni, Hati, and the eight non-gathering primary Professions
• Warlords of Draenor Timewalking dungeons
• New Brawl in Arathi Basin vs. AI
• Wintergrasp coming to the Epic Battleground list
• New Brawler’s Guild update
• New Darkmoon Faire roller coaster
• New Micro-holidays and updates to Children’s Week

Additionally, you may see some features referenced in this PTR (such as Ashran as an Epic Battleground) that are not part of 8.1.5, but may be introduced in a later update. We’ll keep an eye out for such things and make sure to let you know what we aren’t testing in this PTR.

As always, thank you for your testing and feedback.

Holly *filtered* Zandalari and Kul Tiran in next patch ... /facepalm blizzard

This expansion is worth playing in 8.2 and thats a big MAYBE all the *filtered* the promise are delivering to us in drops this entire expansion was a beta for azeroth.

"Wintergrasp coming to the Epic Battleground list"  One of the best pvp zones ever made this is more like that warfronts should have been not the abomination we have now.

Like the last comment " As always, thank you for your testing and feedback. " ye blizz we are doing this since the start of this *filtered*.

The point is they were always slated in 8.1 and they still are. It was, entirely expected that they'd come out after the raid

Yeah next expansion I am waiting for the last patch or whichever it is when the second X-mas discount happens to buy it.

-Saves money

-No time gating

-More content so you won't get bored after 3 months

-Will get bored in 6 instead but that's when next expansion would probably arrive.

Kind of wish I did this with BfA

I'm not sure this will work the way you want it to. You may not be paying for sub, but you're also paying for the expansion for only a few months of content. Time gating isn't great but people will  just blow through the content then complain about no content otherwise anyways. a lot of the content will be irrelevant anyways, ESPECIALLY if you're interested in raiding or the dungeons.

BFA advertised zandalari and kul tiran so much, kind of a joke on the players to release months it. Those were definitely the two races people were looking forward to the most

I was actually looking forward to the Void Elves and The Nightborn. Couldn't have cared less about Kul Tirans or brown skinned Orcs that stand up straight. I still hate orcs.

Battle for Azeroth has been a cluster *filtered* on the order of Warlords of Gaynor. They released WAY too much content, to begin with in 8.0. You finish two zones and you are level capped. Once at 120, you are unsure of which quests are the main storyline and which are filler.

Yeah it's better to give you this 2 races on launch, and just ignore the fact both of the are (even now) not interested in full alliance with any of the factions, and for both of them "Horde vs Alliance" war is just not their war to fight, casue they are still having their own issues. Yeah ignore lore so 2 months later you can complain that Blizzard write stories that don't make sense and are breaking lore.

Both are commited to their faction, after finishing introductory questlines and first war campaign. Jaina is already ruling Kul Tiras and brought them back to Alliance, it's more about gameplay/content gating. People look at these allied races more like at other races introduced with expansions - no one had to grind rep to unlock Draenei, Blood Elves, Goblins, Worgen or Pandaren, yet in their stories these races still had many problems that had to be solved (like Kael's betrayal, addiction to magic on BE side etc.). My personal opinion - not interested in playing them, although they are introduced way too late in the expansion, when hype about them mostly died.

And in game it's still not very story-friendly, speaking from purely lore standpoint. When Kul Tirans are still treated as "mainlanders" when they come to their home continent, Zandalari will be brought to recruit... Zandalar tribe as "speakers of da Horde" etc., it's going to look rather awkward.

Alwasy comes in .2... so 8.2 is when Pathfinder 2 will come out.

The horde had helped the army of the light whose main mission was fighting the legion, and the alliance helped to free the nightborne from the control of the demons. Is there isn't much of a true reason for them picking sides other than the *filtered* blizz made up right before bfa. They could have easily done this for the new humans and trolls.

I was hoping aganst hope that they wanted to do something with the maze that is the Horde main city. Then again, if they put all the relevant NPCs in one area the rest is going to look like Silvermoon.
Guessing after 2.0 it will be less of a nuiscance.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

How to Get the Spirit of Eche'ro Mount
      1. Download MapCoords or some other add-os that displays coordinates in the game.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
