Guest Joseph Bloggington Report post Posted January 27, 2021 This page could do with some updates regarding the pet families. Firstly the page states that master's call is the best pet specialisation ability, which is correct for PVP. Next it suggests taking the mortal wounds effect, which is generally a good idea, however it then suggests 4 ferocity pets, and one of those pet families (devilsaur) is Beast Mastery only, and cannot be tamed by survival hunters. The cunning pets which can apply mortal wounds, and are NOT exotic (beast mastery only) pets are: Raptor Rodent Hyena Please update this guide with that information. Guest Derium Report post Posted February 26, 2021 This guide says that Haste > Versatile. So, why the rings enchantments and socket cluster are for versatile?

The extra versatility is always worth it, especially in combination with the 2-set bonus from the PvP trinkets. This will help with your damage and especially help with you surviving a bit easier when being targeted. I hope this helps!

But you write Haste > Versatility

Updated the stat priority to make it easier to know what the best stats are! Vers > Haste are definitely the best stats to go for

SurvivalHunterGuy 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2021 Hello, I see that you guys are recommending "Stick Tar" as a good PVP talent. Sticky Tar is the worst pvp talent in the game, because it actually INCREASES the damage your enemies do. This is because many melee abilities are based off your attack power, but when you reduce the attack speed, the damage per hit increases and since this is what abilities scale off of, Stick Tar results in your enemy doing incredibly more damage. Hi! I do not see us recommending sticky tar as an option in the Talents section. It is a good tool for kiting from double melee teams, as long as you don't stand inside of it. But the best talents are definitely Roar of Sacrifice/Trackers Net. Mending Bandage and Survival Tactics are also really good options.
Guest SomeRandomDuelist Report post Posted July 11, 2021 Hello, I heavily disagree with a lot of what is said in this guide, specifically many of the talent choices. I understand that this is a general "PVP" guide and isn't focused on a specific aspect of PVP but I feel like there is A LOT missing from this guide and some of the talent choices are just flat out wrong. These opinions aren't just mine, but are shared by many of the top PVP Survival hunters. I am talking mostly for 2's arena (somewhat 3's): For starters, almost all top survival hunters run Viper's Venom over Alpha Predator, this is because you barely ever get to press Kill Command in your rotation and having two charges of it can actually make a new player get into the bad habit of pressing Kill Command more than they should, thus losing dps. It should be noted that the dps difference between the two is negligible. You should never take Bloodseeker in arenas ever, Steel Trap is a must have into any melee composition and on the rare occurrence where you won't need Steel Trap, Murder of Crows will do more damage than Bloodseeker ever would. A good root or the extra 11k damage from Crows can and will change the outcome of games while Bloodseeker will do almost nothing. Posthaste is actually taken by 100% of the top survival hunters in all forms of PVP. Posthaste is simply too valuable and I think recommending Born to be Wild is foolish to new players is foolish. Of all the talent choices, recommending Mongoose bite has to be my biggest problem with this guide. Mongoose Bite is frankly terrible in PVP, and you will never get a good five stack window against any competent players. You need an insane amount of haste in order to get any value out of Mongoose bite, this is because Raptor strike does more base damage and 90% of your time in arena is spent kiting and positioning properly so you simply do not have time to get a full good Mongoose bite window. Flanking Strike is MUCH better and provides more movement and just is an overall “press and forget” button that does really good damage. Lastly, Chakrams is much better than Wildfire Infusions. Wildfire infusions used to be taken only so that you could double bomb someone and have both effects ticking. This was because in BFA our bomb cooldowns got reset much more often than now. Our bomb cooldowns never get reset because carve is a waste of a global and we do not have any other way to lower our bomb cooldown. thus, we can only double bomb once every 30 seconds which is not enough to justify taking Wildfire Infusions. The actual effects of Wildfire Infusions are pretty weak in terms of PVP. The only real added damage is from the bleed and the volatile bomb, but this damage is negligible when compared to chakrams which can crit for upwards of 7K. This all comes from someone who was brand new to Survival Hunter at the start of 9.0 and I just got Duelist. These opinions of mine aren't meant to come across as rude or demeaning but only are meant to help newer players who might be misled by this guide.
