Vulpera Coming in Patch 8.2.5?

Recommended Posts

39772-brewfest-2018-september-20th-octob

Brewfest will be overhauled in Patch 8.2 and while we don't know the exact details yet, Blizzard added mug icons for multiple Allied Races in the initial Build 30080, including the Vulpera. They confirmed no new Allied Races would be coming in Rise of Azshara, so we assume they're leaving them for .5 patches in Battle for Azeroth.

New Brewfest Icons

We've got new Brewfest icons for Dark Iron Dwarves, Lightforged Draenei, Highmountain Tauren, Mag'har Orcs, the Nightborne, Void Elves and the Vulpera.

At the same time, Blizzard added Mechagnomes to the table of playable races in Patch 8.2, so we can speculate that Alliance counterpart of Vulperas will be them.

The Vulpera was speculated to be a Allied Race back in beta even, seeing them coming soon (™) isnt that much of a surprice to me. The "Goblin" version of Allied races instead of the Vulpera could just have been another of the goblin trading companies like the Venture CO or something alike so im happy with something different like the Vulpera even though im prob not going to bother leveling one or race swap.

I was expecting something more like Jeeves and Mimiron, but this looks pretty darn nice.

Agreed, a bit disappointed they still got some fleshy bits.

I am more hyped for the Vulpera, since they would be the only truly "new" race of all the allied so far. I hope they use this opportunity to flesh them out some more.

Yeah that would look better

I was really hyped for this feature before release, but it seems to be getting a bit out of control. If they keep allied races coming in the current pace in a few expansions time we will have 40+ playable race in total and 20/faction! That's crazy and while they all had some nice introduction quest to them so far, they certainly don't have such an epic entry to the world as say pandas had (I'm not a fan of pandaren, but they had their own dedicated starting zone, lore, art, etc. to make them feel relevant). I don't know how will they try to develop the story of the races in the future, but they surely don't make it easy with such a multi-cultural setting.

Mechagnomes are again, just another reskin of something that we got. Vulpera on the other hand is completely new. It uses the goblin skeleton but it looks 100% new. The better counter for that would be those snake people for alliance, the sethrak.

Hope we get something like the Mok'Nathal or the Broken one day. And if the leak is right, we might get a playable race based on the worgens (cat trolls a la Claws of Shirvallah)

Vulpera seem to be like many other races that will be forgotten after recent expansion is over, they don't have anything interesting going on with them. Good for people wanting to play something small and (I guess) somewhat cute.

Many people seem to be hyped about them, but forums aren't to be trusted with, because also according to these same forums no one wanted and asked about void elves, they are the worst addition ever etc. Yet they are the 4th most played race on Alliance... Mechagnomes likely won't be popular, as even normal gnomes are one of the least played races. Vulpera probably more popular, but few people would end up maining them, unlike the cases with void and blood elves, which to this day remain popular.

...dat racial tho

And visuals! Small part of playerbase cares about racials (even though that's what mainly affected faction balance in the beginning), but they also look better in transmogs than most of the other races, less clipping due to their posture etc.

Currently in the game we have the following:

2 Versions of Humans (Alliance Only)

2 Versions of Dranei (Alliance Only)

2 Versions of Dwarf (Alliance Only)

2 Versions of Tauren (Horde Only)

2 Versions of Orcs (Horde Only)

2 Versions of Trolls (Horde Only)

1 Version of Pandarean (Neutral)

1 Version of Goblin (Horde Only)

1 Version of Gnome (Alliance Only)

1 Version of Worgen (Alliance Only)

1 Version of Forsaken Undead (Horde Only)

4 Variations of Elves (2 for the Alliance: Night Elves and Void Elves/ 2 for the Horde: Blood Elves and the Nightborne)

Do we honestly need another Allied Race?  To be honest I rather Blizzard focus on updating the character models and for some the animations for the Goblin, Worgen, Forsaken, and the Gnomes before contemplating on releasing a brand spanking new race anywhere in the near future.

Depends how you count it, we've also got 4 versions of humans in total (counting Worgen, since they are cursed humans) and Forsaken (only undead humans available to play). Yeah, some races could use more customisation options instead of adding it as "new races". At least elves are somewhat justified by "faction swap", giving playable model previously exclusive to that faction. Something like Lightforged or Highmountain technically isn't a new race. Neither are Kul Tirans, who aren't biologically different (with playables only offering a different body type) than other humans, just a different nation, like worgen/Gilneans.

Mehhhh.....

I just can't get behind the Vulpera.    Lorewise "Once upon a time, a few Vulpera helped a few Horde and Zandalari who got lost in the desert.    This was enough for King Anduin of the third reich to create Vulpera Purge squads."

I wish I was joking, but that's literally the lore behind them joining the horde.     They are desert nomads, with no central authority figures (in fact, most have children's voices with the occasional young adult thrown in, there are no "old" Vulepera).    They have no cities, control no important territories, and their reasons for joining the horde are extremely sketchy.

I don't mind allied races, There could be a 100 for all I care. What I do care about though is, if a race is added make it relivant to the warcraft story and lore. Don't just add a race because it looks cool (plus a OP racial). Like someone said earlier, Panda ppl (IMO suck) but they have great lore and the story to back them up. As long as we get interesting races that expand the warcraft mythos Im all for it.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

How to Get the Spirit of Eche'ro Mount
      1. Download MapCoords or some other add-os that displays coordinates in the game.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
