d3 LoN Builds to Enjoy in Season 17 - Featuring Deadset

We finally have the release date for one of, if not the most exciting season in Diablo 3 so far, and it's time to start getting hyped for this Friday! While one of the most interesting things about the new season is picking up random ancients along the way and stringing together some weird builds as you go, there's always some combinations that go really well together.

Personally I'll be trying to recreate my Cyclone-then-activate-every-available-passive-aoe-in-the-game "build", but we wanted to use these few days we have until the season starts to hear what builds you're looking forward to or planning, regardless of whether they will actually "work" or not. We also poked our own guide writer Deadset to see what he thinks some of the more fun and competitive Legacy of Nightmares builds might be. We're going to start slow, with just 3 builds this time around, with the rest coming later in the week.

Here are Deadset's build suggestions for Barbarians, Crusaders and Demon Hunters:

There's always that time in the pre-Season excitement and planning when you inevitably face the dreaded question: after looking up the Haedrig's Gifts, planing out the leveling, and getting some friends hyped... What am I actually going to play? Season 17, fittingly launching on the 17th, will be no different. You can always rely on the leveling guides, but what will you be excited to build? You can always lean on a Charge Barb, a Condemn Crusader, a Wave of Light Monk, and so on - you know, the staples! But what's the new stuff around Sanctuary?

THE ARREAT SUMMIT

Barbarians remain untouched in this patch, for better or worse. These venerable warriors are unshakeable from the group meta with the Support Barb, now even more desirable with the Ground Stomp variants. Raekor HotA and Charge Barb continue to dominate the leaderboards. The Legacy of Nightmares-themed S17 however, brings some extra oomph to older, quirky builds like the LoN Frenzy, and open up space for fun new variations like the LoN HotA Barb . The latter provides a welcome challenge for Barbarians wanting to devastate with relentless hammer attacks, but are tired of the endless charging of the Raekor staple.

THE TEACHINGS OF AKARAT

Crusaders received several targeted buffs for Season 17, all related to a signature build of the (not so distant) past. The 'Captain America'-like LoN Blessed Shield Crusader enjoys a stronger Akkhan's Leniency bracer and Jekangbord shield, greatly improving the viability of the build. A fiery LoN Condemn variant is also lying in wait, provided you aren't tired of the holy explosions decimating waves upon waves of demons - but then again, that never gets old, does it?

THE DREADLANDS

Demon Hunters are also largely unchanged from their S16 state, with dominance of the Sentry Natalya and Marauder build practically unchallenged. Then again, the class received an unlikely buff to one of the most forgotten and maligned skills in their entire arsenal, and the Rapid Fire LoN Demon Hunter is now a legitimate build to pursue. With the upgraded Sin Seekers and Wojahnni Assaulter, my long standing wishes for a close range, spray-and-pray Demon Hunter build are finally coming together!

This will be the "play whatever you feel like" time diablo desperately needed. And they should take this in attention, for the upcoming games in this franchise ☝️

Meta will probably remain unchanged for Monk and Barb, but you're also talking about group play at GR120+

Solo play, you can easily do a WoL LoN build.

For optimum build for S17 WoL LoN Monk, you should get "Swamp Land Waders" pants. In the 3 seasons I've played a solo Monk, Swamp Lan Waders never dropped for me, neither could I get them gambling with my Monk.  Easiest way to get swamp land waders is create a (lvl 1) WD, craft lvl 70 yellow pants, and reforge them to legendary with Cube, and/or, build a (lvl 70) WD and gamble for them at Kadala.

I'll be using the cube method to get two pairs for my necro this season, one to reroll immediately to ancient for LoN buff, and then the second pair will be for rerolling for primal attempts.

I would also recommend using a Cindercoat in the WoL build, and then ORotZ/SoJ as your rings. CoE/Unity in the cube as needed/preferred.
