In our latest Essence Spotlight, we're looking at Purification Protocol, a MOTHER-themed DPS Essence gated behind Rustbolt Resistance reputation in Patch 8.2.

With the corruption in Uldir being eliminated, MOTHER was tasked to research ways to repair Azeroth.

Note: We only had the chance to play around with Rank 3 of the Essence on PTR and tooltips may be inaccurate before Patch 8.2 goes live.

Purification Protocol is a DPS Essence gated behind reputation standing with Rustbolt Resistance.

The active power deals Fire damage in an area and stuns Aberrations caught in the beam. Your damage will be increased by 10% for 8 secs when an enemy dies within the beam at Rank 3 and the beam will progressively deal more damage.

The minor power makes your damaging spells and abilities deal Fire damage to enemies within 8 yards. The passive will be upgraded to heal you over time at higher ranks.

Rank 1 (Titan Purification Protocols)

The first rank can be purchased from Stolen Royal Vendor at Honored with Rustbolt Resistance.

• Major Power: Purifying Blast - Call down a purifying beam upon the target area, dealing 1,162 Fire damage over 6 sec. Any Aberration struck by the beam is stunned for 3 sec. (60 sec cooldown)
• Minor Power: Purification Protocol - MOTHER has added a Purification Protocol to your Heart of Azeroth, allowing your damaging spells and abilities to release a blast of Azerite energy at your target, dealing 272 Fire damage to any enemy within 8 yds. Purification Protocol deals 50% additional damage against Aberrations.

Rank 2 (Targeted Purification Protocols)

Rank 2 is purchasable at Revered with Rustbolt Resistance.

• Major Power: Purifying Blast - Call down a purifying beam upon the target area, dealing 1,162 Fire damage over 6 sec. Has a low chance to immediately annihilate any specimen deemed unworthy by MOTHER. Any Aberration struck by the beam is stunned for 3 sec. (60 sec cooldown)
• Minor Power: Purification Protocol - MOTHER has added a Purification Protocol to your Heart of Azeroth, allowing your damaging spells and abilities to release a blast of Azerite energy at your target, dealing 272 Fire damage to any enemy within 8 yds, and heals you for 123 every 2 sec for 8 sec. Purification Protocol deals 50% additional damage against Aberrations.

Rank 3 (Enhanced Purification Protocols)

The third rank becomes available when you reach Exalted with the Mechagon faction.

• Major Power: Purifying Blast - Call down a purifying beam upon the target area, dealing 23,341 Fire damage over 6 sec. Has a low chance to immediately annihilate any specimen deemed unworthy by MOTHER. When an enemy dies within the beam, your damage is increased by 10% for 8 sec. Any Aberration struck by the beam is stunned for 3 sec. (60 sec cooldown)
• Minor Power: Purification Protocol - MOTHER has added a Purification Protocol to your Heart of Azeroth, allowing your damaging spells and abilities to release a blast of Azerite energy at your target, dealing 6,822 Fire damage to any enemy within 8 yds, and heals you for 2,469 every 2 sec for 8 sec. Purification Protocol deals 50% additional damage against Aberrations.

Rank 4 (Ultimate Purification Protocols)

The final rank of the Essence is just a visual upgrade to the spell and shares stats with the previous rank. You can receive it from Rustbolt Supplies, the Reputation Paragon bag of Rustbolt Resistance.
