Twinkielock 15 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 I am after 35k or so more HK's and I figured I would level a rogue as another alt. I wish to level solely in BG's. That being said I have no plans to disable my XP gains. I have a full BOA set. I was wondering what enchant I should put on by weapons, and is Sub or Assassin more suitable for lowbie PVP? Krushinator 49 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 Enchant Weapon - Agility Is a popular low level weapon enchant until you are able to use post-Vanilla enchants. For spec, I would recommend Subtlety. Your advantage is going to be burst damage, and Subtlety is very good at that. Assassination has a decent initial burst, but if you get caught in combat after killing your first target, the 55 energy cost of Mutilate will not be your friend. With Subtlety you get an initial Ambush for high damage then Hemorrhage as filler, which only costs 30 energy.
Twinkielock 15 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 You can now use MoP enchants on low level stuff. It just scales down. That being said would you use Dancing STeel X2?
Krushinator 49 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 In that case I would use Dancing Steel, yes.
Fouton 266 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 I'm currently playing a low level rogue named Caegh-Argent Dawn I'm all agility/crit to instantly kill as fast as I can, and I've gone assassination just for the big mut hit when I come out of an ambush. I've made about 4-6 lowbie rogues over the years that I started through BGs, and I'd say Assassination vs Subtlety doesn't feel too different to me. It's just murder-town no matter how I play. I leveled my rogue Leetbandaids-Ysera atleast up to level 75. After that everyone just starts using twink gear and it's no longer fun if you aren't rich. That rogue was Sub the whole way, and at no point did I ever lose the overpowered feeling. I even teamed up with a Disc priest for a while in the 60s range and we were unstoppable. If you can get a resto druid (for stealth)/disc priest (for bubbles) with you, it's a lot of fun. My play style is fairly important considering I'm not a stam user. I only enter a battle if I know it will change the tide of battle or if they will have more deaths compared to my life. For example; if they're pinning us in the GY I wait for the right moment to shread their healer then the nearby hunter, or vise-versa. My kill order usually is: Hunter > Healer/Rogue > Ranged > Melee, since hunters can shred us, healers stop the team from helping you, and rogues tend to just wreck your teammates. Then, when combat is ending or I believe I won't be useful in combat, I run in the direction that has no horde, keep running until dots are gone, and stealth. The reason for this is that I never know who's trying to chase me to dot me up again, and I'm practically dead if a ranged DPS catches me out of stealth 1v1, since we have no movement speed buffs for a while. In the first bracket (10-14) I had: 346 KBs, 37 Deaths, 1143 HKs, for a KB/D rate of 9.35. In the later brackets I've dropped by about half the KB/D rate since everyone seems to have gained key abilities while I've only gained 20% movement speed in stealth, but it's still easy. The only questionable enchant is my pants, I'm using a stam one instead of straight Agi/crit because it was 11 agi 8 crit vs 22 stam 8 agi, I figured that large of a stam gain would come in handy. You'll also find some of the lower level enchants are better than the MoP/Classic enchants, some give 1 extra stat when scaled down to the <60 level range, so if you want to enchant accordingly it may cost some extra gold but give you a tiny edge. It's been an extremely fun but slow process. 3722 HKs at level 23 is fairly decent in my opinion.
Twinkielock 15 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) What about weapons? Double dagger for both Assassin and Sub? Also why one PVE dagger and one PVP dagger? Also identical double trinket? Edited February 10, 2014 by Twinkielock
Fouton 266 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 Assassination uses double daggers to use mut, Sub can go either way. For trinkets you may want the pvp CC removal trinket if you're not a human, with haste trinkets to go with it.
Twinkielock 15 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 What about the PVE and PVP dagger? Is the PVE one better for PVP (in the low brackets)
Fouton 266 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 It's tough to say, at level 24 its 1 agi 3 crit vs 5 stamina 3 resil. I'd say the stamina comes in handy if you're out of stealth a lot, the PvE one is better if you want to just annihilate someone and disappear.
Twinkielock 15 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 I think I'll have to stick with the Sta (PVP) ones. I have to learn how to PVP as melee. I've always been ranged.
Fouton 266 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 I use one of each because it's what I had at the time. I think the PvP ones would come in use more anyways.
Twinkielock 15 Report post Posted February 12, 2014 Where can you track your KB's/Deaths? Also what do you do with your honor? Doesn't seem you can spend it till 60 or so.
