Hearthstone Gold Guide

Recommended Posts

It's probably worth noting in one of the beginner guides that the arena only yields GvG packs, so if you want classic cards, you'll need to craft them. Building up a set of classic cards via crafting is extremely slow. A normal pack nets 40 arcane dust, enough to craft one common classic card.

While there are decks on this site that use GvG cards, I've yet to find one that doesn't use classic cards. You'll have to craft them all.

Apart from just manually keeping track, not really. The information in the quest log can give you indicators towards some of them, but some are just hidden counters.

Okay, thanks for your response. And thanks for this site, it has been very helpful to a beginner like me who feels way behind the curve.

I just checked yesterday on the quest Total dominance (its actual description is "win 7 games in any mode"). Yeah, it literally means any mode including practice mode. So if you win 7 games against AI in practice mode, you still get the 100 gold reward. Not sure if it works on campaigns or not, but I personally tested on the Practice AI bots and it worked. Hope my comment helped.

Beta Hero! Spend real currency in the Store Gelbin Mekkatorque

This quest no longer exists as best I can tell.  I only joined a few weeks ago, have spent money in the shop, and do not have this card (normal or gold version).

It was only available in Beta, indeed.

You can still buy normal packs with gold what are you even talking about?

People say Arena is the best way, but there are also few disadvanatages players used to forget,. First very important factor is time - I try to earn 100 gold and buy yself a pack each day (let's assume I start from 0 gold). With 60 gold quest (I always keep 3 quests - it means I start the day with 2 - so I basically always have something for 60 gold) it takes me only about an hour to earn 100 gold and buy myself a pack. This is very important if you are a student or a worker like me. An hour per day to play and keep the stream of new cards is really nice deal. With Arena however it would take me additional 15 wins to have enough gold (yes, I know Arena gives some gold, so you dont start from 0, but it's still dependant on your win ratio + I usually don't actually start my earning for pack from 0 as well) + Arena itself takes time obviously. It also affects fun from the game, because playing so many games at once can be ok for some "true" players, but for most people it works negatively. So it's very easily assumed I would never be able to complete Arena every day, while as a worker, student, my lady's boyfriend and active swimmer I am still able to buy myself a pack almost every day. In retrospective it is much faster than Arena. Another thing is that Arena gives only GVG packs and most of decks contain only few cards from this set, some contain none. So once you collect everything usable from GVG (mostly mech engine) all cards are usually just a source of dust to create yourself cards from Classic Set, which normally you could obtain from packs and save yourself some dust this way. Spending dust for commons is a bit of waste, by buying packs I was able to collect almost every common/rare and even some epics needed for Pally, Freeze Mage and Zoo. Imagine how much time it would take me, if I had to create every of those cards with dust eanred on GVG.

I don't say Arena is worthless obviosuyl as it would be stupid. But I think it should be noted that Arena has disadvantages as well and it's not a nonsense to buy yourself packs, as people claim it to be, only because Arena is usually a pack + opportunity to win something else for the same price. It's not that simple actually.

Personally, I've gotten 3 wins twice, and gotten 55 gold each time.  I also saw places that said win at least 4 times to get the 150 gold back.  Have these numbers changed?

30 gold + 25 gold + 0 dust is 55 gold, isn't it?

I'm pretty sure you misunderstood those "places". Pack costs 100 gold and Arena costs 150. After getting at least 4 wins you are almost guaranteed with 50 or more gold as a reward, so you are above the line, because you spend basically 100 gold and you have not only a pack worth 100, but something else as well. That's what they could mean by "earning gold back" - because you get the 50 gold surplus back and you win some more gold or dust and possibly a card. The most gold you can get for 4 wins is 85, definitely not 150.

You really need to update the quest list. I keep getting quests that I didn't even know existed (and I would never have given up my 1st quest choice for), due to the incomplete quest list.

Hi, I started to play "Hearthstone" not long ago. One thing bothers me.

3 wins = 10 gold

10 times for 3 wins = 100 gold

Simple math but...I did this "little walk" to get this 100 gold (secret Paladin didtongue.png). The think is that I have no idea how or where I can get this reward.

For any advice big thanks in advance

I'm confused by your question. You are awarded 10 gold for every 3 wins you get in Play Mode, after you've done that 10 times, you have 100 Gold total.

You mistakenly say that Mrgglglglglg! and Golden Mrglglglgg! yield 2 Old Murk-Eye. I'm pretty sure it's one Murk-Eye.

You have probably just won your 1000th game, a coincidence I believe.

Hearthstone is taking a bold step into the StarCraft universe with "Heroes of StarCraft: The Great Dark Beyond," a 49-card mini-set launching in January 2025.
Featuring iconic factions like Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, complete with legendary leaders Sarah Kerrigan, Artanis, Jim Raynor, this set blends StarCraft nostalgia with Hearthstone's gameplay.
Additionally, Arena Mode is getting a massive overhaul, introducing shorter Normal Arena runs and a high-stakes Underground Arena with a game matching "re-draft on loss" mechanic, giving you the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive, after you lose.
The year ahead promises 3 expansions, including the Emerald Dream's battle between Old Gods and Druids, a return to Un'Goro Crater, and a Chromie-led journey through alternate realities.

Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft – The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set
Early next year, Hearthstone is going beyond Warcraft and into... Heroes of StarCraft! This special Mini-Set will have a whopping 49 new cards across three themed factions, which show what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. Each faction is made up of cards that can be used across multiple classes, including an iconic Hero card.
       Zerg
Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock have joined the Zerg! Led by the formidable  Sarah Kerrigan, they will have aggressive cards that win the game by swarming the board.
       Protoss
Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue fight for the Protoss Empire. Led by the High Templar Artanis, they will have powerful, high-cost cards that are made cheaper throughout the game.
       Terran
Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior make up the Terran forces, led by the one and only Jim Raynor. They will command Battlecruisers—a special take on the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
The Mini-Set will feature a slew of StarCraft units which are sure to invoke nostalgia, as well as the Terran-armored Murloc, Grunty, and new, thematic music. You can chart a course for the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching in January 2025! More announcements, details, and card reveals are coming closer to launch.
       Major Arena Updates
Then, for the first time in 10 years, Arena Mode is getting a major overhaul. With that update, there will be two kinds of Arena to choose from. Normal Arena will be shorter form, allowing you to complete your runs more quickly. Competitive Arena players will be able to play in the higher-stakes Underground Arena, with longer runs and a new feature: Re-Draft on Loss. Re-Draft on Loss means that, after you lose, you’ll have the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive.
Ratings will also be added to both Normal and Underground Arena. Normal, skill-based matchmaking will be used for Normal Arena. Underground Arena throws caution to the wind and lets you face off against opponents of all skill levels.
This major Arena revamp is coming in the first half of next year. Look out for more details about this update closer to when it goes live.
A Preview of the Year Ahead: The Year of the Raptor!
On top of those updates, Hearthstone has an exciting year of expansions ahead, with much-requested themes, locations, and familiar faces across Azeroth.
In the first expansion of the year, enter the Emerald Dream and join the battle between the Old Gods and the Druids of the Emerald Dream for the fate of the World Tree. Things will heat up even more when the Druids of the Flame light up the Mini-Set (releasing earlier than normal this year, during the 32.2 Patch).
The second expansion of the year will be Hearthstone’s first-ever sequel: the return to Un’Goro Crater! Join Elise on a hunt for a mythical, lost Tortollan city. When you find it, join the Tortollans in a festival to celebrate the mighty dinosaurs of the crater in the 33.4 Mini-Set.
In the third expansion of the year, travel with Chromie through alternate realities to recruit Legendary Warcraft heroes like you’ve never seen them before. Leading to the 34.4 Mini-Set: an epic showdown against Murozond at the end of time!
