DiscoFish 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2014 Hi everyone, I've been playing my death knight a lot more recently in an attempt to gear him up as the guild could do with a bit more melee on the DPS side of things, however being used to playing a destuction warlock (soul leech, yay!) I seem to be dying a lot and when I don't, I'm suffering considerable downtime after bandaging or taking potions etc. Here's my armory link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/magtheridon/Grulax/ Are there any talents I'm not taking that I should be looking at specifically for survivability at all? Please note I'm following my normal rotation as suggested on the class guides and my DPS doesn't seem to be a problem at all, having monitored it quite a few times already. Any pointers or hints would be really appreciated, thanks in advance!
drumsmani 47 Report post Posted February 20, 2014 Can't look you up with current armory issues. If you are raiding, you really shouldn't be using bandages. Death Pact is awesome for some emergency heals. Icebound Fortitude is a neat CD for damage reduction and magic damage can be soaked with AMS. Are there particular situations / fights where you are always having trouble? Generally there is lot more shit happening in melee range in most fights and you just need to be aware of it and position yourself. But if you give some examples we can see how things can be improved.
Storm 426 Report post Posted February 20, 2014 Glyphed AMS is an absolute must. use it any time you're going to take more than 250k magic damage in the next 5 seconds. Not only will is absorb the incoming damage, but you get a lot of runic power from it. Like mad said, Icebound if you know you're about to get hit by something big. Death Pact will save you from dying once every 2 minutes. Fallen Crusader on your weapon provides a small amount of fairly constant healing. If the whole raid is low, and running out of raid wide cooldowns, and you've already used your healthstone, and health pot, you can always start death striking. For the most part though, if you're dying quickly its because you're standing in something.
DiscoFish 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 Maybe I didn't clarify as to what sort of situation I was struggling in, I'm fine in raid in raid and group situations however I was struggling quite a bit when solo (timeless isle, etc). However, I've took a few looks at my keybinds, rearranged quite a few things and made use of a blood tap & lichborne macro which have both helped a lot. Thank you for help and advice guys, really appreciate it!
drumsmani 47 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 Ah, yeah for soloing you could definitely use death strike for the heals and I think there is also an associated glyph that would help (don't remember the name).
Storm 426 Report post Posted February 23, 2014 Glyph of Dark succor. it's a must for questing/farming/etc as frost. every time you kill something you get a free deathstrike. it's good for topping yourself off.
