Question I feel that adding rorg in cube to put aquilla on I feel it might work also using leap death from above for the stun and low cooldown

Hi there,

I've seen several Frenzy HotNS Barbarian guide thus far, but none of them takes into account the new Kanai Cube "meta" in season 20. So here's my question:

What combination in Kanai's Cube could prove more powerful than the standard weapon/armor/jewelry applications? I could imagine, for example, Bastion's Revered/The Furnace/RORG in the cube, and then replace the set legs by the Depth Diggers. Or Bastion's Revered/Messerschmidt's Reaver (for CDR)/RORG in the cube, Mortick's Brace (for all WotB runes), and then replace the set legs by the Depth Diggers. It also seems to be possible to set up a viable Freeze build with the new cube meta, incl. e.g. Frostburns, Rimeheart, Eun-jang-do, Iceblink etc pp.

Use aquilla bracers and shoulders. Use RORG and add some life per hit on one of the weapons and on the gloves. This build you posted is really bad. Mine outperforms all the current barbarian builds including whirlwind!

Ok. But how do you get critical items like CoE, Depth Diggers, or BoM in there? Can't have it all despite the season 20 cube meta, I suppose?

Please do share the build/your testing of it, since AFAIK, nobody has pushed higher with HotNS than WW.

Deadset is going to be looking into the meta as it evolves with the new season, but I don't think we'll see much change in this build personally. No matter what you try to replace, you'll end up losing something more important IMO. For example, you lose CoE or Band of Might in your example. Either you lose the large damage boost of CoE (which is far more useful than The Furnace) or the survivability of Band of Might, which will cap your progression massively, simply due to dying to things way too often at higher GRs.

As for the frost build, the build now features Azurewrath as a BiS weapon, but we might look into a separate variation specifically for Freeze, if it ends up being viable. 

At this point, we'll just have to wait and see.

The Speed Farming Variation says you should cube RoRG instead of Band of Might, in order to wear Depth Diggers and cube Chilanik's Chain. However, with the Season 20 buff, this is needlessly complicated. The guide should say to replace Band of Might in the cube with Chilanik's Chain directly.

Hi guys, I've been using this build since the season hit as I really wanted to try out the new set.  I currently have all of the items except the Azurewrath.

However I do have an ancient Shard of Hate which I'm using because with frenzy being super fast and a cold skill it makes the SoH launch out frozen skulls like a machine gun, like seriously if I hold shift and the frenzy button they fire out like a gatling cannon.  My rational for using this (apart from "crap I have no Azurewrath") is that (according to wikis) the skull freezes mobs, so it should proc the 2pc set bonus from savages, right?

I think it's working as I'm melting stuff in max torment and high GR, but have no way of being sure.

It should proc the set bonus of course. The only downside to this that it might freeze mobs not in your range of Frenzy, which means you need to hunt them down one by one instead of herding them together. The damage of the skull is miniscule. 

Azurewrath would be better for pushing because of the innate cold damage % buffing your Frenzy, and the on-hit chance only Freezing mobs you will hit.

I used savage/ aughild build. Awesome. Aughild wrist and helm. Cube same as normal savage build except ring of grandeur in cube. I also use leap instead of furious charge.

Swapped out Depth Diggers for Aquila in cube, swapped Motrick's for Strongarm and that gave some room to switch Nerves of Steel for Brawler. Pretty low on the GR ranks right now, ~75 but it's working really well without optimal rolls for CDR. 100% uptime on good survivability through Aquila/Band of Might, strongarm and brawler is compensating for damage.

Heya! I can understand the desire to up your survivability, and Aquila is a very natural choice in that regard. I wouldn’t drop Depth Diggers though, since they are a direct, 100% uptime damage multiplier. If you’re playing solo, perhaps you can try simply swapping the Convention of Elements from the recommended setup in the guide for a Unity, along with a Unity + immortality relic on your follower? This will result in the same 50% damage reduction as Aquila, but lets you keep Depth Diggers. (If you play in parties a lot, I’d probably do something like wearing the Aquila instead of the HotNS chest piece, cubing a Ring of Royal Grandeur, and wearing a Band of Might instead of CoE.)

Hi, the guide says to use the Istvan's blades set for this season for the set bonus, but you get that bonus for spending fury, how are we supposed to activate it with this build? Are we just supposed to hammer the Battle Rage key? :S

Hey! Hammering it is not necessary as the bonuses last for 5 seconds, but once stacked up it needs frequent refreshing with a spender, yes (Battle Rage in this case). An alternative setup if this seems too inconvenient to play (which I can definitely understand) is to simply go with the default Burning Axe of Sankis + Oathkeeper combo and get Ring of Royal Grandeur in the 4th Cube slot, allowing you to go for 2-piece Aughild set in your bracers and shoulders. This lets you keep the original playstyle of the build, without too much spam.

You're saying use the Twinned Blades set... But doesn't that proc on resource spent, but all you have are resource generators side from battle rage which has a cooldown. I'm confused as to how this would even work...

I see where my mistake is!! BR has no cooldown. Hmm, I'll give this build a shot! I was making basically the exact same build but wasn't sure what my last ability should be, ie Leap, Ground Stomp, or Furious Charge. Forgot about FC's innate cooldown reduction rune. ? Thanks.

Hey there, I checked the page and they look correct to me, but perhaps the Season and Non-Season recommendations stacked together end up a little confusing in a single table. You have two possible setups, the way I look at it:

1) You do the one recommended at the front page of the build, wearing The SlandererThe Slanderer and Little RogueLittle Rogue and cubing Bastion's ReveredBastion's Revered (weapon slot) and OathkeeperOathkeeper (4th slot).

2) You decide spamming a Fury spender via Battle Rage is stupid and you want to keep the original playstyle - so yo wear OathkeeperOathkeeper and The Burning Axe of SankisThe Burning Axe of Sankis , cube Bastion's ReveredBastion's Revered (weapon slot) and use Ring of Royal GrandeurRing of Royal Grandeur (4th slot). The ring will let you add one more set to the build, the craftable Aughild's, using the bracers (Aughild's SearchAughild's Search ) and, say, the shoulders ( Aughild's PowerAughild's Power ), while keeping the HotNS 6-piece bonus.

      The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped.       Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.       Here's a preview of Season 33 and Patch 2.7.8 that will soon be available for testing on the PTR.
      Shades of Nephalem Theme
      In the latest Diablo III Season, the Shades of Nephalem season theme marks a return. Activating a Shrine or Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class. The clone's power wil scale with your character and last for one minute or until death.

      Fourth Kanai's Cube Slot
      In addition to the season theme, Kanai's Cube will have an additional fourth slot.

      Season 33 Start?
      We expect Season 33 to start in late September/early October 2024.
      PTR Testing
      Patch 2.7.8 will be available for testing for one week. Initially, Blizzard planned to test out the patch from September 17 through September 24, but they ran into some unexpected issues and testing has been delayed. New Mac executables for Silicon and Intel chips will be available in this build, as revealed by Blizzard.

      Season 33 Rewards
      The upcoming season mirrors Season 22 in terms of rewards, so here's what you can get.
      The Head and Shoulder slots of the Conqueror Set are coming, alongside Black Soulstone-themed portratis and the Loremaster pennant.

      Complete the Season 33 journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Here are the Conqueror requirements for Diablo III in the upcoming season. This will grant you an additional stash tab (up to a max of 5).

      Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty.       What are Ethereal Memories?
      The theme of the season reintroduces the Ethereals, which are rare and powerful items known from Diablo II and reimagined for Diablo III.       As the Nephalem reflect on Sanctuary's history, instruments of power from a bygone era resurface. These ethereal memories will grant those persistent enough to search for them unimaginable power. Legends of the past will manifest once more in the present, and you must decide how to best use these gifts—for ethereal power is fugacious by nature, and will soon return to being no more than a myth.
      For this seasonal theme, we were inspired to reimagine how Ethereal items could manifest in Diablo III, with 21 iconic weapons making a return from Diablo II. In Season 32, Ethereals are rare, powerful, and fleeting items.
      Season 32 reintroduces Ethereals, a weapon-type that players will be able to acquire and hunt for in their upcoming seasonal journey. Ethereals will roll a powerful set of affixes, a random Class Weapon Legendary Power and a random Class Passive Power. Ethereals will have unique icons, names, item types, and sounds originally found in Diablo II. For additional details on Ethereals, check out the list below:
      Ethereals are account bound and can only be dropped by monsters, chests, and destructibles, but do not require your character to be Level 70 in order to drop. Ethereals cannot be acquired through Kanai's Cube or from Kadala. Ethereal rarity drop rate is set between Ancient and Primal items. There are 3 unique Ethereals per class. Each Ethereal has fixed affixes and rolls one random Legendary Weapon power and one random Class Passive Skill. Only one Ethereal can be equipped at a time. Ethereals ignore item durability loss. Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills rolled on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped through Kanai's Cube, Items or Skills. Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded. Ethereals can be augmented. Collecting all 21 Ethereals during the season will reward players with the Feat of Strength, Ethereal Recollection. Players who accomplish this will have all Ethereal transmogrify options available for future seasonal and non-seasonal play. Ethereals only drop in Seasonal play and will not transfer to your non-seasonal character when the season ends. Return to Top
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 32, this means awards originally available from Season 8 are returning to the Season Journey.

      However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Feast your eyes upon the Teganze Warrior Portrait Frame and Bat pet!

      In addition to the Boots and Pants slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn a series of portrait frames that smolder with demonic fires of the Burning Hells. The iconic wings of Andariel will also be available once more, allowing you to truly embrace your inner Maiden of Anguish.

      Season Journey Rewards
      If you’ve been diligently slaying demons for the past few Seasons and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of 5:
      Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within 5 minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete 2 Conquests this Season. Warm Thoughts: Kill Izual at Level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
      Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 32? Here are the challenges you’ll face!
      For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at Level 70 on Torment X or higher. Push your way to Greater Rift Level 75 to complete Divinity/Lionhearted. For the fiercest demon slayers, Boss Mode/Worlds Apart is a speed challenge where you’ll need to eliminate the following bosses at Level 70 and Torment X in under twenty minutes:

      Haedrig’s Gift
      Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey (courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift) have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
      Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
      The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.
      Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 32:
