Windwalker Dance of Chi-Ji

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

From the Windwalker guide, rotation page, I quote:

***************

"When using Dance of Chi-Ji Icon Dance of Chi-Ji, you will want to use any Dance of Chi-Ji buff before triggering Mastery: Combo Strikes Icon Mastery: Combo Strikes again. This goes for Single Target as well. Be very careful not to use it prior to a Fists of Fury Icon Fists of Fury cast, as this would cancel the last tick of damage from Spinning Crane Kick Icon Spinning Crane Kick. Therefore you can use the Fists of Fury first."

***************

Using Fists of Fury *AFTER* Spinning Crane Kick will "cancel the last tick of damage from Spinning Crane Kick" ?

I cannot interpret this paragraph at all, could someone more knowledgeable be explain it to me?

As I can tell, SCK does 4 ticks of damage, with or without Dance of Chi-Ji. Casting anything after SCK cannot possibly affect damage that was in the past. ** really confusing ***

You can cast other abilities during Spinning Crane Kick, after it's done it's GCD, so generally after the third tick as most abilities won't cancel SCK's channel, but Fists of Fury will (btw Chi burst also will, and I guess any other non-instant ability as well).

By the way, I don't know how would people figure this out in-game, it is not in the tooltip, personally I just discovered it by accident. ?
