Things to Do Before Shadowlands Goes Live

Recommended Posts

6GfmhZD.jpg

With a few months of BfA still left, we compiled a list of things to do in the game before they get removed or changed when Shadowlands hits. Read on for details.

1. Ahead of the Curve: N'Zoth the CorruptorAhead of the Curve: N'Zoth the Corruptor

Assemble a group and defeat N'Zoth on Heroic difficulty. Uncorrupted VoidwingUncorrupted Voidwing will become unobtainable when Shadowlands goes live.

2. Mythic Season 4 Title & Mount

If you want to get the Awakened MindborerAwakened Mindborer, you must earn the Battle for Azeroth Keystone Master: Season FourBattle for Azeroth Keystone Master: Season Four before the release of Shadowlands. To do this, simply, complete all Battle for Azeroth Season 4 dungeons at Mythic Level 15 or higher, within the time limit.

If you can't get the mount, you can at least try getting the Awakened title that is earned by completing all Battle for Azeroth Season 4 dungeons at Mythic Level 10 or higher, within the time limit (Battle for Azeroth Keystone Conqueror: Season FourBattle for Azeroth Keystone Conqueror: Season Four).

3. Phenomenal Cosmic PowerPhenomenal Cosmic Power Achievement

Certain Essences tied to Mythic Season 4 will become unattainable when the Season ends, making it impossible to earn the Phenomenal Cosmic PowerPhenomenal Cosmic Power and the Azeroth's Champion title.

4. Save Up 5 Million Gold for the Reins of the Mighty Caravan BrutosaurMighty Caravan Brutosaur

Blizzard will be removing the Reins of the Mighty Caravan BrutosaurMighty Caravan Brutosaur in Shadowlands from the vendor, so now would be the ideal time to start making some serious gold when you want the mount. Chances are you will not be able to get it from the Black Market Auction House when it becomes even rarer to get.

Hello! Yes. About that …

Like all dinosaurs, the Reins of the Mighty Caravan BrutosaurMighty Caravan Brutosaur's days are numbered. I can confirm that when Shadowlands goes live, the shady vendors Talutu and Tricky Nick will cease selling it. Their other offerings – the Lost PlatysaurLost Platysaur pet and the Reins of the Palehide DirehornPalehide Direhorn mount, will remain available for purchase.

We will make sure that the unforgettable Brutosaur mount is added to the lists of possible items that are sold in the Black Market Auction Houses. And of course, this new Achievement "Conspicuous Consumption" is a Feat of Strength, so as such things go, it's not actually very conspicuous.

The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur comes with an Auctioneer and a premium price tag! Be ready to spend up to 5,000,000 Gold to get it!

5. Mythic Jaina Mount

The drop chance of Glacial TidestormGlacial Tidestorm will drastically decrease and the mount will become rare once Shadowlands is out.

As a result, Blizzard hotfixed Mythic Jaina so that she drops 2 Glacial TidestormGlacial Tidestorm mounts on live servers on February 14.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Battle of Dazar' alor
    • Lady Jaina Proudmoore now drops 2 Glacial TidestormGlacial Tidestorm mounts (was 1) when defeated on Mythic difficulty.
  • Ny' alotha, the Waking City
    • N'Zoth the Corruptor now drops 2 Ny'alotha Allseer Ny'alotha Allseer mounts (was 1) when defeated on Mythic difficulty.
      • With these mounts becoming quite rare once Shadowlands comes out, taking 20 weeks or more for a full Mythic raid group to get the mounts felt excessive.

6. Mythic N'Zoth Mount

The same applies to Ny'alotha Allseer Ny'alotha Allseer that drops from N'Zoth on Mythic difficulty on live servers. You can get two per run, and the drop chance will decrease when the new expansion is live.

nyalotha-allseer.jpg

7. Mythic Season 4 Elite PvP Armor Sets

The Elite Notorious Gladiator's Armor appearances are gated behind reaching various ranks in the ongoing PvP Season. They are going away with the end of PvP Season 4. There are four sets in total (Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate).

8. Level Up a Demon Hunter & Death Knight

Both Demon Hunters and Death Knights start at level 10 in Shadowlands, instead of 98 and 55 respectively, so it would be a good idea to level them up right now instead of waiting.

9. Battle for Azeroth PvP Achievements

The Conqueror of Azeroth Conqueror of Azeroth and Servant of N'Zoth Servant of N'Zoth achievements will also be harder to get when there are fewer players playing BfA content in Shadowlands, as pointed out by Redditor cybishop3.

10. Mythic+ Mounts

Mounts like Sharkbait's Favorite Crackers Sharkbait's Favorite Crackers from Freehold, Mummified Raptor Skull Mummified Raptor Skull from King's Rest, and Underrot Crawg Harness Underrot Crawg Harness from the Underrot will be harder to get, because you won't be able to farm them by doing low keystone runs and your chances will be reduced to one per week. Thanks gnotagnelfbutagnome for adding this.

I have have been playing this game for around 11 years and have rolled well over 20 or more toons to max level and I don't believe I have ever had more then 300,000 gold on a server ever lol How did Blizzard expect people to save 5 million for that Brutosaur in the 1 year it was available? I really wish they would stop making awesome stuff like this a once in a lifetime thing only a handful of people will ever obtain and make more interesting stuff everyone can enjoy

Mostly those who are either aggressively trading on AH or selling paid runs for gold. There is a lot of this trash on LFG these days, that in turn heavily reduced number of "free" runs and increased average requirements for an invite (more people buying those "Curve runs" = more groups demanding that you have it already). At least they are banning offers for cash, so there is way less of that, but gold runs are allowed. Also, WoW token has ruined the economy and inflated prices. Mounts like brutosaur serve as a gold sink, although they mainly annoy people playing normally, since that amount of gold isn't an issue for all these sellers. Sucks it's going away, it could have served as something one could slowly work towards to, and they've never removed similar mounts before.

That's something at least, though prices will likely skyrocket.

when Shadowlands releases, BFA will have been out for about 2 years, lets say thats 720 days, thats 6945g per day, if you cant make that in a day, then the mount isnt for you.

Did most of those already listed with the exception of a small handful of things I really don't care to chase after.  Decided to go and get caught up in Guild Wars 2 storyline and play around with a few Elite Specializations.   I'll wait till see what the pre-patch events will be like to actually focus again on WoW.  But as of now I'm a bit burned out atm and just need a refresher change of pace for the time being.

People who know how to make a lot of gold will already have this mount. Bidders for BMAH will be those of us with less gold. I doubt the price will go up.

Brawler's Club will also probably end its current season, and maybe should be on that list? I missed one season's mount because none of the news sources included it and I had forgotten to go back.

Literally going to be 2 full years come a month  next Tuesday lol. Point us a tad irrelevant as most of the people that will be buying it or will be able to will do so before it releases anyway.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

For the next two weeks, the Archaeology quest for Spirit of Eche'ro is available on live servers, so don't forget to get the rare mount before it's gone for 6 months!
How to Get the Spirit of Eche'ro Mount
      1. Download MapCoords or some other add-os that displays coordinates in the game.
      2. Teleport to Azsuna from the Stormwind/Orgrimmar Portal Room or use your Dalaran Hearthstone to reach Dalaran (Legion) if you have one in your inventory.
      3. Seek out Archaeology Trainer Dariness the Learned in Dalaran at 41,26 and learn Archaeology if you already haven't.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
