Heroes of the Storm General Tier List

Most of this tierlist is wrong IMHO. Seeing ETC so low on the ranks same with Tyrael. They both were picked or banned so heavily in almost all tournaments. None of them are hard to play. Same with Mei and many many others. Also the layout is like 70% heroes are Ok rest either very bad or very good. This is like saying - yea most of heroes are good. Why then make tierlist.

Again Genji was go to pick or ban, same with anna. Just check some CCL picks.

Tychus - Easy to play and definitely S tier.

Taunt Varian - just so good no skill needed and with just a basic focus from team is easily S tier. Immense carry potential.

Stukov - 100% S tier. Highest heal output. If you learn just to use your E extremely powerful healer. Easier than rehgar.

All in all i think this tierlist has 0 value to rly good players and teams same as to average or below average players.

Either make it for new players - Raynor, Tychus goint into S tier.

Or make an overall tierlist not based on the difficulty od the hero. Orphea 100% S tier…

I think it's fine to disagree with Tier Lists, however, you are using incorrect data to back up your arguments. All the Heroes you mentioned when talking about CCL did not perform well in recent tournaments. You can see that by using Heroes Profile, preferably filtering by Season 4 because some Heroes changed over the last year.

What you are looking at is our General Tier List, aimed at players who do not play at high Ranks. While there are certainly many aspects of the game that are true at any level of play, recommending the same Heroes to everyone is not ideal. For that reason, a separate Master Tier List has been created, with a slightly different layout.

Besides the fact that most if not all Heroes can be good in certain situations, the Heroes have been distributed across 4 Tiers to represent their relative powerlevel. We cannot evenly distribute them just because the layout would look bad otherwise. If the metagame looks like that, then the Tier List will look like that as well.

If you are skilled on a low-Tier Hero and you feel like the enemies cannot deal with them, nothing stops you from picking that Hero. We cannot recommend a skill-intensive Hero that the average player will not have an easy time playing, especially if weak to many counters. Similarly, a Hero that is easy to play but does not have much carry potential does not really belong to a high Tier.

Last but not the least, Tier Lists shouldn't be seen as a gospel but as a guideline. In every Tier List, there are always some Heroes that could be a Tier higher or a Tier lower because they are never going to be 100% perfect. The target of a Tier List is just to give a general idea of the metagame, so that players can decide what to play and know what to expect against them.

No and no... sorry but your arguments are invalid. The tierlist is generaly wrong in my opinion. You are trying to evade any discussion about certain heroes being placed in certain tiers.

Relative powerlevel - what does that mean? You just take winrates? How did you make this tier? Based on what?

Why is ETC in the worst bracket? Same as taunt Varian? Explain this... They are lower than Arthas? Than Stitches? Really? Completely utterly wrong. Confusing newcommers. 

Same with Tychus, Stukov... both extremely good heroes... talking about Tychus he is very simple. Compared to Junkrat or Guldan? Oh comme on you can not be serious. Unimpactful dmg and hard to play.

Aiming at: not a high ranks... so you put a certain hero higher because he is simple to play. Fine. So why the hell Orphea is so high? Same with Li-ming. They are very hard to play. Very mechanical. Low rank player will struggle as hell with Orphea, Flastad, Dehaka, Garrosh, Li-Ming.

This tierlist just has no consistency. 

My point is - make either list of very strong heroes that are simple to play - which this tierlist is definitely not correct. Taunt Varian is much much more easier to play and execute than Garrosh - yet he is lower - way lower. Or make it a tierlist which is based on how the heroes perform at max. skill lvl - which this one is not either.

I just want to prevent new players from being confused by this tierlist. I guess that veterans do not need tierlists at all.

i dont really have any problems with this tier list.  but we just had a patch a few weeks ago.  can you update for changes with hogger and others?

I prefer to wait a bit before making changes about balance. Since it has been 2 weeks already, I'll make some changes today and then adjust them if needed. Thanks for the comment!

Imagine saying that hogger and artanis are at the same level, or that hanzo is mid and abathur and medivh, arguably some of the best heros in the game, are D tier. Same thing with Genji, kaelthas, etc... This list seems pretty random to me. The one made by FanHOTS is way better.

As explained in the introduction, this is not a Tier List for high Ranks. If you are looking for that kind of content, take a look at our Master Tier List. We made a separate Tier List exactly because Heroes that are hard to play and/or don't have a kit that let them shine in uncoordinated play cannot be rated in the same way for casual players and for top players.
