Is not Ysera too slow for this deck?

As it is a control deck, no.. :)

Is there a reason you do not have 2 unbound elemental cards in the deck? Unbound elemental can really get out of control given the overload cards we have in the deck. Since it is a control deck, it could bait the opponent to use their removal cards before placing a ysera or ragnaros.

With this deck I made it to rank 13 (highest rank I've ever achieved so far) and then I got pushed back to 16 after losing ~8 games in a row.  Hunter decks are just too common and too strong for this deck.

So I quite like this deck but I also think Ysera is a mistake, I think the potential damage that can come from a buffed doomhammer makes it better choice. I have had verying degrees of luck with it up to Rank 3. I have also been swapping one of the drakes for a faceless, which I think adds more late game control power (depending on the current meta game).

I actually think this deck is quite good against hunters (with the doomhammer instead of Ysera) you just have to be careful to too sprawl too much with your totems.

You are right, Ysera is horrible against aggressive decks, however it will autowin any match against a control deck where it is not taken care of immediately. You can easily swap Ysera out for a better alternative if the metagame is packed with aggressive decks.

Actually Argent Squire is pretty cool because of the Lightning Storm, it gives you +1 damage and your minion lives, combo is with spell damage Totem!

Ysera seems kinda slow, but remember that you pay 3 mana for 0/3 card drawing Totem! It's pretty cool now

What is the purpose of Argent Squire? I removed it from play and added Mana Adict..

Both Argent Squire and Ysera have been removed from the deck with our last update, so your questions are a bit outdated now, but I'd like to give you a quick answer as to why Argent Squire is good. It is cheap, meaning you can often play it on the first turn (or together with another minion on early turns). Despite its low stats, it can help you get rid of your opponent's early minions, or simply add some pressure (if buffed, for example). Its real strength is its Divine Shield, meaning that it will stay on the board twice as long as it normally would (taking two Hero Power attacks to kill, for example). Compared to other minions for the same cost, it is actually pretty outstanding.

One combo that I found extremely effective against any form of rush deck is coining out Injured blademaster turn 2 then playing ancestral healing on it for a 4/7 taunt turn 2. The only effective counter to it would be a Hunters mark followed by a trade which is a bit difficult for the hunter if he has nothing on the board. Sometimes they may waste Unleash the hounds to Kill it or Druids may naturalize it if you are vs a Over-draw token Miracle druid combo hybrid thing.

Is there anything particularly good I can replace Al'Akir with? I have every other card, and I don't think I'll be playing shaman enough to warrant crafting it.

I love this deck! So far it's gotten me to rank 10 with around a 70% W/L ratio. I have noticed it falls off to Hunter Aggro or Warlock Naxx/Zoo so if you're matched against either class, it's your best bet to mulligan into an aggro start.

I did drop the Chillwind Yeti 's, though. With the number of spell cards in the deck, I figured an Ogre Magi was warranted, and with the last drop I added Loatheb, whom opens up the opportunity to stop a Priest's Mind Control or a Rogue's finishing combo.

The one thing I don't like about the deck is the inability to finish an opponent before turn 9, giving them the chance to catch up even if you were snowballing with Unbound Elemental(s) early.

As this is the only Shaman Control on IcyVeins with any potential, I'd like to post my thoughts for additional changes here:

-Drop the Wild Pyromancer and pick up Faceless Manipulator. It would eliminate a sizable portion of your early game control, but allow for a dominating late game combo/finisher by wielding dual Al'Akir's or Ragnaros' (Ragnarosi?). Or, in the event your opponent is over top of you, taking their beast before Hexing it into oblivion.

-Drop the Feral Spirits and pick up one Big Game Hunter and Leeroy Jenkins. Okay, this change may be a stretch, but BGH is a better late-game control than Feral Spirits and Leeroy is a fantastic finisher coupled with Flametongue Totems. Also, with the addition of BGH, it opens up the ever infamous combo of Faceless Manipulator + BGH = Game.

-Last but not least, drop the Unbound Elementals and pick up two Knife Jugglers. Coupled with your totem drops, this brings your early game control back into a competitive level and could tip the balance into your favor more rapidly.

I'd love to hear your feedback and I hope you appreciate mine! It's a wonderful deck as is with no where to go but up.
