Kirix, bane of my being

This is my first time posting on Icy Veins so I apologize for breeches in protocol!

The title kind of says it all.  I've spent an hour and a half in the Firelands and have died around 15 times trying to tame him.  I follow the advice I've read here and elsewhere saying to Disengage after he knocks you into the air, immediately pop Deterrence and then Tame.  My problem is that it never works.  Ever.  I have the Tame Beast glyph and use a 500 haste potion before the fight.  The toxin interrupts me and stuns me and I can't tame in time.  And the ledge doesn't work, constant Evades on Tame.  

 

Any advice would be great, as I'm starting to chalk Kirix up as Untameable.

Here are a few suggestions:

 

Try using a corehound to pop Ancient Hysteria before you engage him and then quickly dismissing it

 

Then as soon as you pop deterrence pop your haste potion and any haste trinket you may have. 

 

Reforging into haste may help as well. You can always reforge back after you tame the little guy. 

 

Kirix is the hardest spider to tame, so be patient!

If you just use stampede, deterrence with mirrored blades glyph (just in case) and tame, you'll get him no problem while he's squashing your other pets. Worked for me first try on my newb free 90 hunter!

Good call on the Stampede.  I'll give that a shot and then post back (waiting for him to respawn)  

 

EDIT:  Confirmed.  Stampede is the way to go.  No reforge, pots, or trinkets needed.  Wait until he kills all the beasts, back up to the max distance for tame, and tame away.  Got him on the first try with that method.  Furiyers, I would give you all the points if I could.  THANK YOU!

I guess I'm old school.  If they are rare and have their own names I tend to stick with their given names.  It makes me cringe to see something very cool like Loque being renamed to Snuffles or something of the like.  To each their own, for sure, play your WoW how you want.  But to me he is Kirix.
