Sanguine Depths Mythic0 Solo + Explanation

Recommended Posts

v2d8nkL.jpg

Rextroy isn't the only game in town, as we have another impressive Mythic0 solo! Unsurprisingly it's another Protection Paladin, and this time it's Leontiiwow who went through Sanguine Depths all on his own, with only 176 item level and the run taking only about an hour (estimated from the sped up video).

With Leontii explaining they're no expert, did no preparation and just went for it, it's a really great thing to hear! To know that, despite being inspired by Rextroy, players don't have to be on that  high a level of game knowledge to try to do interesting and impressive things like this!

And here's the in-depth explanation of how it all went down:

Quote

This was inspired by Rextroy doing his own solo mythic run of Theater of Pain. I am in no case an expert on Protection Paladins. I saw Rextroy's video of soloing theater of pain and I thought "What better challenge right now than to solo a mythic dungeon". I hopped on my paladin, switched to Protection, bought a sword and shield and went at it. I did not do any kind of prepping for this, I just jumped in and went at it.

As I stated before I am no expert in Protection paladin. I was only ILVL 176 when doing this run with the legendary cloak that gives 1% haste each time I use a holy power finisher, stacking up to 5 times (nothing special). I'm sure there are better talents than what I ran, but I used what I liked and what I thought would give me the most successful results. I used blessed hammer as I really liked the constant damage reduction. This was very useful when clearing trash. First avenger as an absorb shield helped out tremendously with all around survivability. Third row I chose Repentance, again to help with trash clear. Unbreakable spirit was used to reduce my damage reduction cooldowns; which was extremely beneficial for all the boss's. Divine Purpose was used for the random free Word of Glory. The sixth row I chose Judgement of Light for constant, very little, but constant healing. For the final row I chose Righteous Protector to help have my damage reduction off cooldown and having Avenging Wrath up as much as possible as that is what made this possible.

Kyxis the Voracious:
At first I thought this was going to be the hardest boss as I thought Living Essences was going to be a hard mechanic to work around due to if he consumes it, it heals for 12% of his HP. This turned out to be a lot easier than expected. As long as you back away from the boss when he does his slam attack and run straight for the orb once it spawns, you should make it there before he even attempts to go after it. The rest of the fight was pretty straight forward, all you need to do is just keep moving back and forth on the platform making sure to never have your back to the edge.

Executor Tarvold:
This was hands down the hardest boss to do. The adds leading up to the boss were a nightmare and trying to figure out how to work all the mechanics and not die was even worse. Between the Fleeting Manifestations leaving Pools of Residue and Sintouched Anima circling the prison the entire encounter, and the boss doing constant overwhelming damage it was tricky to figure out. In the first clip of the fight you can see I got a good groove of the fight. There is a small gap by the start of the boss that you can stand on and I was just kiting him around dodging the beams and hoping for the best after that. That was until I made it almost all the way around the prison right into a group of adds that I ignored..... I went back to try and kill the adds but was unsuccessful as the last group has some kind of enrage effect that was too much for me to handle. I went back and just stared at the boss trying to figure out away around the adds. That's when I realized that my paladin spell, Turn Evil, works on aberrations. On my final and successful attempt I started on the small gap next to the boss. Sure enough, once the Manifestation popped up I was able to fear him. He ran away from me and gave me enough room that his residue did not hit me. After that, it was just making sure I did not die to the boss's damage.

Grand Proctor Beryllia:
This was probably the easiest fight of the dungeon. It was very straight forward and I was able to do it first try. Just follow the boss mechanics, collecting the Fragments of Radiance for the damage reduction and dodging Endless Torment. Super easy. The only trick was making sure to cycle my damage reduction during his heavy hitting spells.

General Kaal:
The final boss!!! This is a very time consuming fight with not a lot of room for error. The fight all around is not super complicated. But he hits very hard. I only cast Shield of the Righteous a hand full of times and mainly focused on casting Word of Glory. At first I attempted to just tank Piercing Blur, that quickly overwhelmed me. The best tactic I found is to dodge the mechanics and when he casts Gloom Squall, drop a bubble to make sure you are topped off before he finishes casting.

All in all, this dungeon was very fun to figure out and I had a blast doing it! This is definitely one of, if not my biggest achievement in wow since I started late Cataclysm. Now that the raids and mythic+ dungeons are about to come out I am hoping to post even more content and solo runs. I hope you all enjoy.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
