wow Player Plays WoW on Mobile Phone

With the right combination of hardware and software, Huhn3d was able to play WoW on their phone.

An interesting video of a player playing WoW on their phone appeared on Reddit. They even have a threat meter on the screen!

I combined SteamRemotePlay/Razer Kishi and WoWConsolePort to a hole new MobileExperience (Yes I have a Phone) from r/classicwow

To play WoW on mobile, you will need:

• Remote access to your router/home network.
• The SteamLink App
• A Razer Kishi
• WoWMapper
• ConsolePort

After that, you must:

• Manually ad World of Warcraft to Steam.
• Manually link the commands to your KishiButtons.

We are not sure if this is bannable because Blizzard did not comment on that, but players have been suspended for using NVIDIA steam in the past.

This technically is not as punishable as NVidia. To use Steam Link, you have to run the game on your PC, so the game thinks you play from your main IP address, and not some unknown one. Also, Steam does not limit your playtime behind a paywall, unlike NVidia GeForce Now.

And I recall someone using only Steam Link, without other apps, using only keybinding in streaming app, to do this some time ago, and not getting banned:

So, this should be safe, but this does not really solve the problem of playing WoW on phone, since your PC is still required.

from this headline description, it sounded like the player was able to go for a drive or even get in a plane and play wow. When really, they are still tied to a computer that is close by, and is probably able to go to the water closet or eat dinner with the controller.  That photo sure is a funny looking phone.  🤪

Just use a VPN setup at home and there you go. Though depending on the home/mobile connection bandwidth/latency could make it a bad time. But you you have good upload at home and have a good connection on the remote device can be very doable.

Huh?!?  As another commenter said, still required a PC at home, even with a VPN.  TO explain more on what I was saying, from the title it makes one think that they can play over their phone without the need for anything else.  Now that would be something.  But would prob make a really dumb down game, more so than what it is now.

Sorry yes you need a pc at home. But if you have a vpn server setup at home then you can connect your mobile device to the vpn which gives you steam game stream access as you are now on your "home network" so you can then still use all your games from your pc running at home anywhere your mobile device can get strong enough connection. so you're not really "tied to a computer that is close by". You need to have a pc and vpn running from home but you don't need to be home. This is also not limited to just steam you can use your home pc with a nvidia graphics card to use geforce experience game stream + vpn. Of which there is a client for android, ios, chrome os, raspberry pi, mac, apple tv.(moonlight) Any of those devices anywhere you can get a good connection could then connect to your home pc and stream any game.

So no you can't run the game from any device natively but you don't need to be close to your home pc either.

at least you still have to be in range of your WiFi, correct?  But thank you for the explaining!  I thought I answered this earlier today (yesterday), but I guess I was wrong :(   Happy holidays to all.
