Kriff 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2014 hi guys, quick questionim gonna change my rogue main into druid for a bit different playstyle without changing it to much and i wonder why i have seen many high end kittys running around with full crit gems + reforging when all sites tell me that mastery is better? Is it not much of a difference or just what you like?also when im gonna pvp do i want crit there instead of mastery since i might not alsways get bleeds or long durations on targets that mostly die fast? Moonglen 4 Report post Posted April 17, 2014 Many ferals run the Rune of Re-Origination trinket, which requires them to try and get their haste and crit ratings as close as possible to receive the full benefit of the trinket's proc. That may be why. Though as a rule of thumb, as a feral druid, your main source of damage is your bleeds, and mastery makes those bleeds more powerful, therefore generally mastery is the way to go. That being said, there is ALWAYS more than one build to a spec/class, ultimately it boils down to how you feel comfortable, and how you want to play. All "high-end" ferals will have the Rune of Re-Origination (RoR) trinket. The proc on the trinket is optimized when the secondary stats are 1:1:1 with mastery being 1 point higher then the others. Usually, when you are over 575 item level and have RoR, you see more of an overall damage increase by switching to yellow gems instead of orange(agi+secondary). Below that level and without that trinket, you will want to maximize Mastery followed with crit=haste. I can't really give reliable information on PvP, but I would think that Mastery is still favorable.
