More Torghast and Twisting Corridors Tips

Recommended Posts

OuEwULv.jpg

With Twisting Corridors not only being quite a bit tougher than regular Torghast wings, but also taking a lot longer, we thought we'd share some of our own tips/things to remember, as well as some from the US community that's been running the Corridors for a day now.

First off it's one tip from myself, as this is one I keep forgetting and is very useful, especially when you come across the final boss or a specific floor boss you can't seem to handle. If you've done the Maw at least a little here and there you should have access to the Phantasmic Infuser Phantasmic Infuser, which gives you a solid boost to secondary stats for 30 minute for 100 Phantasma, but if you're anything like me, you will keep forgetting it exists and never use it. So, pro tip: use it.

Clipboard01.jpg   Clipboard05.jpg
You'd be surprised how much the extra 200 secondary stat can help out!

Secondly, we have a very useful tip for those that don't really care about/for the Twisting Corridors that much and just want to get their quest done. You don't actually have to finish layer 1 at all, as you can instead just do floor 6 three times and have the quest completed that way (meaning you get to floor 6, kill the boss, exit and come back two more times and repeat), as spotted by BoringUwuzumaki.

We then have some specific anima power discussions, with Cilice of Denathrius Cilice of Denathrius (which is available to all classes) being a sticking point, with some advising never to take it, as it will destroy your health by the time you get to the higher layers, and others say it's well worth it if you can get some HP increasing powers to offset it. With a potential 200+% increase in damage, it may well be worth the risk!

Then there's a bit of a warning for Rogues, as the very powerful Unceasing Chain Link Unceasing Chain Link power has a tendency to, well, disappear completely at random:

And finally, more as a general note, it seems things scale up rapidly towards the higher floors of each layer, with many players reporting they were surprised at how difficult things became around floors 14-15 and upwards, so no matter how good your run is going and how invulnerable you feel, always be careful! And if it at all possible, pick defensive powers (unless there's a crazy powerful offensive one available).

Good luck in the Twisting Corridors, we hope this helped!

VDH 192 ilvl. I made it to Floor 14 before I had to quit my first solo run. A few floors earlier I tried to fight the Subjugator rare and failed miserably. I came out of the fight with 12 stacks of reduced damage, speed, and HP which ends up as a 60% overall reduction. In other halls you would get an anima power to cleanse all of his debuffs. Not so in the new corridor. Partnered up with a buddy (Ret Pally) and we cruised through Layer 1 without seeing the rare.

My tips:
Skip Subjugator Klontzas or make sure you have a LOT of room to dodge it's abilities.
Aim for two-third's offensive abilities and one-third defensive/HP options. (End of the duo run I had less than 100k HP but rarely took any damage due to shields.)

Tried as HDH after Raid night with the Guild; got through floors 1-17 and thought I stacked a decent combo of anima powers with stat boosts, crit health, and increased healing via Soul Fragments.  Also was able to pick up the anima powers when I use Eyebeam I take 0 dmg along with increased Dodge (4 stacks of this Anima) on Blade Dance.  When I came to the final boss which was a Venthyr I kept Volley interrupted and used rotation accordingly with aid of Blade Dance and moved out of the red puddles he kept placing on the ground.

However, this happens every time I reach the 20% marker the Venthyr auto attacks in unison at a rapid rate and crits for over 64k.  So tonight I'm going to switch out conduits and try it as VDH.

@StarymI keep forgetting that item too whenever I go and do Torghast runs.

The power to cleanse comes from the rare itself, not quite clear from your post if you actually defeated them and then didnt get the power or not.

Phantasmic Infuser isn't actually good for Twisting Corridors. You only get 5% increased Versa for it, and even if you speed run the buff will wear out before the end of the 18 layers.

Much better to instead buy an extra power (Much more then a 5% versa buff) or even just Oberon gear (even the Oberon Versa one is better then the infuser buff in terms of value)

You can just turn it on at the last boss if you have extra phantasma so it's still pretty damn useful since it's just 100. Not to mention thre's tons of "infinite phantasma" powers floating around.

Ohhhhh! For some reason I thought the power was simply one of the next ones available regardless of killing the Subjugator or not (based on a previous duo run). Makes sense now, thanks!

Klontzas is one of the few rares that is a free kill if you know what you're doing and a run-killer if you don't. He always does the same 3 abilities in a row and keeps repeating them in a loop: Aoe in melee range, zone at range distance, damaging line. As a Windwalker Monk I have an incredibly easy time on him and can easily make it through the fight without a debuff.

So I wouldn't pick your tip as baseline. It's a tip for people who don't pay attention to rares or abilities as Klontzas can/will crush your run in that case.

It basically means that as long you can have your movement going while dps'ing you won't have that much of a problem, like a WW monk. There are plenty of other classes that are able to kill Klontzas without any trouble either. I'm just trying to motivate people to go try and learn him instead of just avoiding him, there is absolutely no need to be a *filtered* about it just because you personally are having trouble beating him.

If you are night fae, do not use the Podtender ability, it is still bugged, and if it bugs out you will have to leave your game / unstuck character because your character is actually permastunned. Blizzard still have not announced it will be fixed, but they did say they fixed it however, the bug is still ingame.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

How to Get the Spirit of Eche'ro Mount
      1. Download MapCoords or some other add-os that displays coordinates in the game.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
