Heradsinn 3 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) Hey there forums. So I use a site called MAX DPS to know what gear is BiS. Currently I am at LFR difficulty. And this site uses (almost) the same stat priority as icy veins. http://www.maxdps.com/rogue/assassination.php Now, It says that Ricochetting Shoulderguards is better than tier (spaulders of the barbed assassin). How can this be? Are'nt tier gear better than the other gear that is dropped in the raid? Just in case, Here are some links: Character http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/magtheridon/Heradsinn/simple Shoulders: Tier: http://www.wowhead.com/item=99010 other: http://www.wowhead.com/item=105008/ricocheting-shoulderguards Thanks for help Edited April 30, 2014 by Heradsinn

Swiftshaper 1 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) Normally you should stick with your 4-piece bonus and get a piece with your highest secondary stats. For example you should be keeping your 4 piece bonus and looking for an item with mastery and haste as it's main secondary stats. (Following IV's stat guide, not too knowledgeable on Assassination) Also i wouldn't rely entirely on one website for anything. Googling is free, use it more! Hope this helped somewhat :D Edited April 30, 2014 by Swiftshaper
Hybrys 199 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) As mentioned, the site doesn't weigh your set bonuses into the equation. It just looks purely at the stats. Why not use AskMrRobot's BiS finder? It's a little smarter, and includes your set bonuses, and trinket procs. Check out this link: http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/gear/d2ea08df-3dcd-46e2-977b-c01b2d748199 Once that loads up, hit Best In Slot. I got there by loading your character, hitting Options, and changing the following: Gear Level to Pre-Raid LFR gear to Tier 16 Flex gear to none Heroic gear to none PvP gear to none World Boss Items to none. Krushinator 49 Report post Posted May 1, 2014 Ask Mr Robot and Shadowcraft do place value on the set bonuses, making them more useful sites for gear comparison. You will also see off pieces with higher stats because they can drop as warforged, and tier cannot. There are various BiS lists out there that will tell you your optimal off piece if you have a full BiS set, but to figure out whether you want tier or an off piece in your specific situation you're going to have to experiment with gear arrangements on one of the above websites. Kver 65 Report post Posted May 1, 2014 I wouldn't advise you to use AMR's BiS function, that has a few issues. You can manually use AMR to find out which gear set gives you the largest amount of (useful) stats though.

You can manually use AMR to find out which gear set gives you the largest amount of (useful) stats though. That being said, the BiS list that I got to worked just fine and is accurate for Assas rogues, limiting to only LFR content.
