Hybrys 199 Report post Posted May 2, 2014 When I'm stressed out, I really love playing Harvest Moon games. They're something great to dive into, think about the mechanics, and plan your empire.Lately, I've been really happy with Harvest Moon: A New Beginning on the 3DS. It's a lot more complex than the usual Harvest Moon, offering crafting and construction elements to customize your town and farm, as well as objectives in order to progress through the game.I've also been rocking the classic SNES Harvest Moon on my Wii U. Simple as all get out, gathering/fishing are the premier ways of gaining gold instead of farming. Although it's a big misstep in the original development, I think that it's got a nice feel to it, because you aren't just watering your plants every day and going to bed. Are any of you a fan of the fairly casual franchise? Do you have any favourites in the series?

Hybrys 199 Report post Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) Unfortunately, every time they try to replace a mobile version, they screw it up or end up making a puzzle game. Stoove 347 Report post Posted May 25, 2014 I always thought that the relationship aspect of Harvest Moon was weird. Like, in some of them if you don't get married you lose the game. o.
Hybrys 199 Report post Posted May 25, 2014 I always thought that the relationship aspect of Harvest Moon was weird. Like, in some of them if you don't get married you lose the game. o.0 It is a little bit odd, reinforcing some hard stereotypes and gender roles (with the man wooing the woman with gifts, and the game requiring you to marry to be 'happy'), but I dismiss it as another game mechanic that I can minmax. Find their favorite item, talk to them once, give them their favorite item, end of activity.
