Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:

Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 23:

  • Monk - Raiment of a Thousand Storms
  • Demon Hunter - Unhallowed Essence
  • Crusader - Roland’s Legacy
  • Wizard - Tal Rasha’s Elements

Items

General Updates

  • Teleport - Adjusted Wizard's Teleport animation speed.
  • Land of the Dead - Invigoration skill rune now removes all resource costs.
  • Rathma's Shield passive skill now has a 60-second cooldown

Item Changes

  • Bones of Rathma 2-Piece Set: Your permanent minions reduce the cooldown of Army of the Dead by 0.25 0.50 second each time they deal damage. Your skeletal warriors spawn faster, and your revived minions no longer expire.
  • Bones of Rathma 4-Piece Set: Your minions no longer take damage. You gain 1% damage reduction for 15 seconds each time one of your minions deal damage. Maximum of 75 stacks.
  • Bones of Rathma 6-Piece Set: Each permanent active minion increases the damage of Army of the Dead and Bone Spirit by 500%, up to 8500% 9000%.
  • Defiler Cuisses: Bone Spirit's damage is increased by 400% to 500% for every second it is active and will also freeze enemies on impact. Maximum of 5 seconds.
  • New item* Bonds of C'Lena: Bone Spirit deals 300% to 400% increased damage and deals an additional 2% increased damage for 10 seconds each time Army of the Dead hits an enemy. Maximum of 500 stacks. Army of the Dead deals 75% to 100% increased damage or double this bonus against an active target of Command Skeletons.
  • Firebird's Finery 2-Piece Set: Disintegrate Ignites enemies, causing them to take 7500% 3000% weapon damage per second until they die. When you die, a meteor falls from the sky and revives you. This effect has a 60-second cooldown.
  • Firebird's Finery 4-Piece Set: Casting Disintegrate adds Combustion stacks that reduce the cooldown of Teleport by 1% 2% per stack. Stacks up to 100 50 times. You gain 80% damage reduction while maintaining Combustion stacks.
  • Firebird's Finery 6-Piece Set: You gain 4000% 2000% 5000% increased damage while Ignite is applied to a target. Hitting an Ignited enemy with a non-channeling fire spell deals Ignite damage multiplied by Combustion stacks.
Developer Note: With the bulk of patch 2.7.0's focus being on the single-player experience, we recognize that the set reworks and balance changes are some of the most impactful and important to the group play experience. We've heard the outpouring of feedback from the community and have decided to increase the Firebird's Finery 6-piece bonus.
We hope these changes will allow players to explore new strategies in high-end group play compositions for Season 23. We hope you enjoy Firebird's this season, but we will keep an eye on its power and adjust balance in the future.
  • Gears of Dreadlands 6-Piece Set: Your primary skills deal 15,000% increased damage.
  • The Ninth Cirri Satchel: Hungering Arrow is guaranteed to pierce and also deals 450% to 600% increased damage. Hungering Arrow can only pierce up to 3 times.
  • Gazing Demise: The damage of Spirit Barrage is increased by 100% to 150%. Spirit Barrage gains the Phantasm rune that lasts twice as long, and the attack rate from Manitou spectres is increased.
  • Blackthorne's Jousting Mail: Replaced one minor property with a random elemental damage affix.

Class Set Dungeon Update

  • To account for the Necromancer redesign of the Bones of Rathma set, we have updated the objective to "Revive 100 Corpses" from the current "Raise 100 Skeletal Mages".
Developer Note: In addition to the recent changes, we'll continue to analyze the performance of individual builds and rebalance them to allow for more variety in all categories of gameplay. We appreciate and value your feedback as we continue to analyze and fine-tune the performance of a variety of builds and address the high and low performers in this and future balance patches. Thank you all for your support and we look forward to seeing you this season!

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the legacy version of Etched Sigil buffing unintended effects.
  • Fixed an issue with the Follower's cheat death skills activating while the player had a Shield Pylon active.
  • Fixed an issue where the Templar would sometimes stop following the player.
  • Fixed Revive - Personal Army buff not persisting with Rathma's 4 piece bonus

27 MB patch. Nothing big about it.

There’s stuff we can complain about, but the data size of the patch is not a measure of the significance of the changes in this patch.

It seems the various, significant, changes are primarily code/stats/behaviour changes—not graphics or audio. So it makes sense that the game data isn’t massive.

The one graphical change seems to be the follower equipment ui, so not much data to that, either.

Do the follower item also emanate in multiplayer games?

No. The follower (and the effects from any equipped items on the follower) is only active in solo play.

Starting on October 25 at 5 p.m. PDT/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Shades of the Nephalem theme, which first debuted with Season 22. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 32 will officially come to an end on October 20. Seasonal Journey

      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Patch 2.7.8
      Season Theme
The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five: Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a Level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete 2 Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at Level 70 in under fifteen seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a Level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top Seasonal Conquest
Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 33: Barbarian - Might of the Earth Crusader - Thorns of the Invoker Demon Hunter - The Shadow's Mantle Monk - Monkey King's Garb Witch Doctor - Raiment of the Jade Harvester Wizard - Firebird's Finery Necromancer - Grace of Inarius Return to Top Patch 2.7.8

New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. As an interesting side note, the portrait frame you can earn this season is named after Teganze, a zone that was first introduced in Diablo 2 and will be revisited during our journey in the upcoming expansion of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred!

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 32: Ethereal Memory. Starting on July 12 at 5 p.m. PDT/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Ethereal Memory theme, which first debuted with Season 24. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below.

As the Nephalem reflect on Sanctuary's history, instruments of power from a bygone era resurface. These ethereal memories will grant those persistent enough to search for them unimaginable power. Legends of the past will manifest once more in the present, and you must decide how to best use these gifts—for ethereal power is fugacious by nature, and will soon return to being no more than a myth.
For this seasonal theme, we were inspired to reimagine how Ethereal items could manifest in Diablo III, with 21 iconic weapons making a return from Diablo II. In Season 32, Ethereals are rare, powerful, and fleeting items.
Season 32 reintroduces Ethereals, a weapon-type that players will be able to acquire and hunt for in their upcoming seasonal journey. Ethereals will roll a powerful set of affixes, a random Class Weapon Legendary Power and a random Class Passive Power. Ethereals will have unique icons, names, item types, and sounds originally found in Diablo II. For additional details on Ethereals, check out the list below:
Ethereals are account bound and can only be dropped by monsters, chests, and destructibles, but do not require your character to be Level 70 in order to drop. Ethereals cannot be acquired through Kanai's Cube or from Kadala. Ethereal rarity drop rate is set between Ancient and Primal items. There are 3 unique Ethereals per class. Each Ethereal has fixed affixes and rolls one random Legendary Weapon power and one random Class Passive Skill. Only one Ethereal can be equipped at a time. Ethereals ignore item durability loss. Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills rolled on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped through Kanai's Cube, Items or Skills. Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded. Ethereals can be augmented. Collecting all 21 Ethereals during the season will reward players with the Feat of Strength, Ethereal Recollection. Players who accomplish this will have all Ethereal transmogrify options available for future seasonal and non-seasonal play. Ethereals only drop in Seasonal play and will not transfer to your non-seasonal character when the season ends. Return to Top
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 32, this means awards originally available from Season 8 are returning to the Season Journey.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Feast your eyes upon the Teganze Warrior Portrait Frame and Bat pet!

In addition to the Boots and Pants slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn a series of portrait frames that smolder with demonic fires of the Burning Hells. The iconic wings of Andariel will also be available once more, allowing you to truly embrace your inner Maiden of Anguish.

      Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey (courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift) have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 32:
Barbarian – Immortal King’s Call Crusader – Seeker of the Light Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Vengeance Monk – Uliana’s Stratagem Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s Avatar Witch Doctor – Spirit of Arachyr Wizard – Vyr’s Amazing Arcana
