Enthusiast Gaming Acquires Icy Veins

Recommended Posts

Maybe bringing a Diablo 2 Section. Back then, when LoD was released i loved it to look up guides, runewords, all uniques etc. Some Section with a database or something like POE Vault, just for all Diablo games. Maybe theres a chance for some other MMOs as well, upcoming MMos like New World or Ashes (if it will be ever released *lol*)

Understandable, so will the Borderlands and Overwatch categories be removed? Since they've been abandoned for so long, it looks like there is no need to keep them around.

We'll remove them from the menu when we make room for Diablo Immortal and Diablo 2 🙂

Not sure if on a related note, but could you separate somehow posts (more precise spoilers) from PTR WoW from regular posts? Hard to follow and somehow skip the "less wanted" info from you, on Facebook at least.

@Stan @Starym Any suggestions there?

We will have a Diablo 2 section, that's already in the works 🙂

It means that soon half of Icy Veins will be Diablo! More like Hellfire Veins!

Other than clearly marking them as spoilers (which we do for the lore/story stuff) I'm not sure what can be done on Facebook specifically, as there's no filter really available. Did you mean the actual "technical" posts as well (like Soul Ash or item level numbers and stuff like that)? If we let something slip through regarding the story without properly adding spoiler warnings that's just a mistake on our (news writers) end. The other thing with facebook is that basically it decides which of our posts to show you and when, it's not a direct feed like twitter.

It will if I have anything to do with it! Can't wait for D2 tbh, already have like 5 friends lined up to play who aren't even that big into gaming 😄

They have websites with journalists that include political propaganda in their articles, and then they promote and link to those articles in their Wowhead mainpage news feed. Then they immediately remove comments and warn/ban users for having dissenting opinions.

Here is such a post still up on the wowhead news feed:

https://www.wowhead.com/news/fanbyte-weekly-news-picks-mortal-kombat-movie-nintendo-direct-apple-subpoenas-321098

And here is article link from that page:

https://www.fanbyte.com/news/heres-everything-you-missed-from-todays-nintendo-direct/

If you want to post junk like that, whatever. But don't then silence your users when they want to comment back about it.

Gotcha... TBH I can see why they would shut down a political discussion on a gaming site that had links to like 10 articles, one of which was a huge list of gaming stuff but had one tiny not-very-hot political take, it's kind of really digging for relevance.

But not exactly my definition of "super corrupt" or "agenda driven"....

so this explains the new look of IV (header missing, all the games of blizzard broken up into their own neat little boxes?)  Sorry, but I like the way it was before.

I could see your point if it wasn't a link to an article on their own website written by their own employee, and then their own moderators shut down discussion on something THEY wrote and linked to. If they shut down discussion on that, how many other times have they done something  like it? Only they could tell you. Once was enough for me.

I have switched to Icy Veins as my wow news source and place to chat on the forums freely and fairly and so far I am very happy with my choice.

We haven't changed our design in quite a long time, and certainly not since the acquisition. I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to either... do you mean this?

Perhaps he means the mobile version of IV, where it moved to the top right corner (But he might not have seen that).

Hi Vlad and no.  What I was seeing had no header, that was the concern. I could only go to other parts of the forum, nothing else.  Possible some type of maintenance was going on? Or as Yridda said, somehow I wound up on a mobile version (I don't have a cell phone) while on the computer?  I need to add that I came to IV that day from a message sent to my gmail account on new updates.

There was some maintenance a few days back, maybe you caught us right in the middle of that and that's what contributed to the weird display issue.

I meant the posts like the new raid (with its end boss) and the new megadungeon. I know most of them promote loot/mechanics, but you give away a bit of lore when you reveal who you'll be facing (and potentially killing).

Hm, interesting. Generally, we don't consider things that Blizz announce during BlizzCon and other official means as spoilers, but I do see your point (I'm very spoiler-averse myself - unfortunately not for WoW since that would be impossible).

Actually, I am glad to see spoilers, etc, and am not spoiler-adversed.  Blizzard has changed the lore so many times from x-pac to x-pac, books, and even in the middle of the current game, it has become highly confusing.  I find when I do see the story line, it is much easier to figure out things.  Honestly, keep it up IV.  Besides, talking about things, this keeps the game interesting and I would bet I am not the only one out here.   😉

I completely missed this post, so I'm a bit late, but congrats. Hope IV manages to remain neutral and honest in reporting and informing; I don't know Enthusiast gaming but for you guys I'll give them the benefit of the doubt 🙂

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!

In case you weren't aware of it, we have a specialized Discord server that focuses on ARPGs! This includes Diablo 4 of course, and the discord focuses on helping players who might have any questions relating to the featured games in general (Diablo 4, Path of Exile and Lost Ark) or our guides for them. And now the ARPG Vault has reached the 10,000 member milestone and is hosting a giveaway!
The giveaway lasts until July 7th, and all you have to do to enter is:
Head on over to the ARPG Vault Discord, Follow the onboarding process by picking a role/game when prompted, React to the emote in the giveaways channel!
5 winners will be chosen at random on July 7th at 22:00 CET. Each winner can choose to receive either a $30 Supporter Pack in Path of Exile, or $30 worth of Battle.net Balance.
So head on over and join the community! You'll definitely find plenty of answers to any of your Diablo 4 (and other ARPG) questions, and might even win something while you're at it!
