A Summary of All Class Changes in Patch 9.1 Build 38709

We are recapping all class changes that went live on the 9.1 PTR in Build 38709.

Death Knight

  • Anti-Magic Zone Anti-Magic Zone has been changed to only last for 8 seconds or until it absorbs Total Health damage (previously lasted 10 seconds). Cooldown increased from 2 to 3 minutes.

Demon Hunter

PvP Talents

  • Mortal Rush renamed to Mortal Dance Mortal Dance and redesigned.  Your Fel Rush afflicts targets it deals damage to with Mortal Wound, reducing the effectiveness of healing on the target for 10 sec. Blade Dance now reduces targets' healing received by 25% for 5 sec.
  • Chaotic Imprint Chaotic Imprint (New PvP Talent) added. Throw Glaive now deals damage from a random school of magic, and increases the target's damage taken from the school by 10% for until cancelled.
  • Mana Rift Mana Rift (PvP Talent) removed.

Druid

PvP Talents

  • Star Burst Star Burst (PvP Talent) - Starfall has a chance to call down collapsing stars that last 15 sec. Enemies that come into contact with a star cause it to burst, knocking up nearby enemies and dealing [ 280% of Spell Power ] Arcane damage. Generates 0 Astral Power.

Hunter

Legendary Powers

  • Bag of Munitions Bag of Munitions - Up to 5 3 targets hit by your Death Chakram are also hit by Explosive Shot.
  • Fragments of the Elder Antlers Fragments of the Elder Antlers - When Wild Spirits hits fewer than 5 targets, there is a 200% chance for each target hit to be damaged by Wild Spirits a second time 35% chance to cause Wild Spirits damage a second time.
  • Pact of the Soulstalkers Pact of the Soulstalkers - When your Resonating Arrow deals damage to a target, your party gains 5% 10% increased critical strike chance for until cancelled 10 sec.
  • Pouch of Razor Fragments Pouch of Razor Fragments (New Legendary Power) added. Bonus Kill Shots from Flayed Shot cause 6 targets within 8 yds to bleed for 35% of the damage dealt by Kill Shot over 6 sec.

PvP Talents

  • Hunting Pack Hunting Pack Reduces the cooldown of your Aspect of the Cheetah by 50% and Aspect of Cheetah also causes all allies within 15 yards to gain 90% of movement speed for 3 seconds. Aspect of the Cheetah has 50% reduced cooldown and grants its effects to allies within 15 yards.
  • Consecutive Concussion Consecutive Concussion (New PvP Talent) added. Concussive Shot slows movement by an additional 20%. Using Steady Shot 3 times on a concussed enemy stuns them for 4 sec.
  • The Beast Within The Beast Within (New PvP Talent) added. Bestial Wrath inspires you and all nearby allied pets, increasing attack speed by 15% and providing immunity to Fear and Horror effects.
  • Chimaeral Sting Chimaeral Sting (New PvP Talent) added. Stings the target, dealing [ 150% of Attack Power ] Nature damage and initiating a series of venoms. Each lasts 3 sec and applies the next effect after the previous one ends. (Instant, 40 yard range, 60 sec cooldown)
    • Scorpid Venom reduces movement speed by 90%.
    • Spider Venom silences the target.
    • Viper Venom reduces damage and healing by 20%.
  • Kindred Beasts Kindred Beasts (New PvP Talent) added.
    • Normal: Command Pet's unique ability cooldown reduced by 50%, and gains additional effects.
    • Predator's Thirst: Command Pet's unique ability cooldown reduced by 50%, and gains additional effects.
    • Ferocity: Primal Rage increases Haste by 15%, but no longer applies Sated.
    • Endurance Training: Command Pet's unique ability cooldown reduced by 50%, and gains additional effects.
    • Tenacity: Survival of the Fittest allies near your pet take 50% less damage.
    • PathfindingCommand Pet's unique ability cooldown reduced by 50%, and gains additional effects.
      Cunning: Master's Call frees nearby allies from movement impairing effects.
  • Scorpid Sting Scorpid StingWild Protector Wild ProtectorThe Beast Within The Beast Within (PvP Talents) have been removed.

Mage

Legendary Powers

  • Heart of the Fae Heart of the Fae (New Legendary Power) added. Shifting Power can be channeled while moving. Each enemy hit by Shifting Power grants you 1% Critical Strike and Haste, up to 10% for 10 sec.

Monk

Mistweaver

  • Mastery: Gust of Mists Mastery: Gust of Mists - Renewing Mist, Enveloping Mist, Expel Harm, Revival, and Vivify cause a gust of healing mists, instantly healing the primary target for [ 0.1% of Spell Power ].
  • Revival Revival - Heals all party and raid members within 40 yards for [ 315% 283% of Spell Power ] and clears them of all harmful Magical, Poison, and Disease effects.
  • Revival Revival (New Rank 2) learned at Level 57. Revival now causes a Gust of Mists on all targets.
  • Enveloping Mist Enveloping Mist Mana cost changed from 6% to 5.6%.
  • Blackout Kick Blackout Kick, Rising Sun Kick Rising Sun Kick, and Tiger Palm Tiger Palm damage increased by 10%.
  • Spinning Crane Kick Spinning Crane Kick damage increased by 20%.

New Legendary Powers

  • Bountiful Brew Bountiful Brew - Your abilities have a low chance to cast Bonedust Brew at your targets location.
  • Call to Arms Call to Arms - Weapons of Order calls forth Niuzao (Brewmaster), Xuen (Windwalker), Yu'lon (Mistweaver) to assist you for 12 sec.
  • Faeline Harmony Faeline Harmony - Your abilities chance to reset Faeline Stomp is doubled. Enemies and allies hit by Faeline Stomp are affected by Fae Exposure, increasing your damage and healing against them by 8% for 10 sec.
  • Sinister Teachings Sinister Teachings - Fallen Order summons 1 additional Tiger adept for 24 sec. While you have an active adept your abilities that critically hit reduce the cooldown of Fallen Order by 3 sec.

Priest

Covenant Abilities

  • Haunted Mask Haunted Mask (New Covenant Ability) added.
  • Discipline, Shadow: Call forth three faerie guardians to attend your targets for 20 sec.
    • Wrathful Faerie: Any direct attacks against the target restore 0.5% Mana or 3 Insanity. Follows your Shadow Word: Pain.
    • Guardian Faerie: Reduces damage taken by 20%. Follows your Power Word: Shield.
    • Benevolent Faerie: Increases the cooldown recovery rate of your target's major ability by 100%. Follows your Shadow Mend.
  • Holy: Call forth three faerie guardians to attend your targets for 20 sec.
    • Wrathful Faerie: Any direct attacks against the target restore 0.5% Mana or 3 Insanity. Follows your Shadow Word: Pain.
    • Guardian Faerie: Reduces damage taken by 20%. Follows your Power Word: Shield.
    • Benevolent Faerie: Increases the cooldown recovery rate of your target's major ability by 100%. Follows your Flash Heal.

Legendary Powers

  • Shadow Word: Manipulation - Mindgames gains 1 addtional charge and its cast time is increased by 50%. Mindgames lasts an additional 3,000 sec and reverses an additional 10% damage or healing. When Mindgames ends, gain 3% Critical Strike for each second remaining for 10 sec.
  • Bwonsamdi's Pact Bwonsamdi's Pact Each time you take damage from Shadow Word: Death while your Fae Guardians are active, your Faeries effectiveness is increased by 25%. Enter a pact with the Death Loa, calling forth a haunted mask that lingers on a target until Fae Guardians ends.
    • Copies the benefit of the current faerie on its target. Follows your Direct Mask.

Shaman

Covenant Abilities

  • Vesper Totem Vesper Totem (New Covenant Ability added) - Summon a totem at the target location for 30 sec. Your next 3 damage spells or abilities will cause the totem to radiate [ 80% of Spell Power ] Arcane damage to up to 6 enemies near the totem, and your next 3 healing spells will heal up to 6 allies near the totem for [ 91% of Spell Power ] health. Casting this ability again while the totem is active will relocate the totem. (Instant, 40 yard range, Limited to 6 targets)

Legendary Powers

  • Seeds of Rampant Growth Seeds of Rampant Growth
    • Normal: Each pulse of Fae Transfusion's damage effect reduces the cooldown of Feral Spirit by 7.0 sec.
    • Restoration Shaman: Each pulse of Fae Transfusion's damage effect reduces the cooldown of Healing Tide Totem by 5.0 sec.
    • Elemental Shaman: Each pulse of Fae Transfusion's damage effect reduces the cooldown of Fire Elemental by 6.0 sec.

PvP Talents

  • Ethereal Form Ethereal Form - You turn ethereal, making you immune to all physical damage, but unable to attack or cast spells and your movement speed is reduced by 50%. Lasts for 15 14 sec.
  • Unleash Shield Unleash Shield (New PvP Talent) added. Consumes your active Elemental Shield, unleashing it on your target: (Instant, 15 yd range, 20 sec cooldown)
    • Lightning Shield: Knocks them away.
    • Earth Shield: Roots them in place for 3 sec.
    • Water Shield: Summons a whirlpool for 6 sec, reducing damage and healing by 40% while they stand within it.
  • Purifying Waters Purifying Waters (PvP Talent) has been removed.

Warlock

Destruction

  • Shadowburn Shadowburn (Level 15 Talent) - Blasts a target for [ 130% 160% of Spell Power ] Shadowflame damage, gaining 50% critical strike chance on targets that have 20% or less health. Restores 1 Soul Shard and resets its cooldown if the target dies within 5 sec.

Soulbind Conduits

The latest 9.1 PTR notes from May 18 documented a nerf to the Withering Bolt Withering Bolt Conduit that didn't go live in Build 38709.

  • Shadow Bolt deals 20% 10% increased damage per damage over time effect you have active on the target.
  • Drain Soul deals 10% 5% increased damage per damage over time effect you have active on the target.

Legendary Powers

  • Contained Perpetual Explosion Contained Perpetual Explosion - Impending Catastrophe's final explosion damage is increased by 50% plus 10% 75% plus 15% for each enemy target hit on the way to its final target.
  • Decaying Soul Satchel Decaying Soul Satchel - Each target affected by Soul Rot increases your Haste and Critical strike chance by 50% for until cancelled 5% for 8 sec.
  • Languishing Soul Detritus Languishing Soul Detritus - When Scouring Tithe generates Soul Shards, gain 100% increased movement speed and 100% 40% increased critical strike chance for 8 sec.
  • Shard of Annihilation Shard of Annihilation Decimating Bolt also increases the critical strike chance and critical strike damage of Shadow Bolt by 15%. Decimating Bolt also increases the critical strike chance by 100% and critical strike damage by 50% for Shadow Bolt/Drain Soul (Affliction), Demonbolt (Demonology), Incinerate (Destruction)

Warrior

PvP Talents

  • Demolition Demolition (PvP Talent) - Reduces the cooldown of your Shattering Throw by 2 min and increases its damage to absorb shields by an additional 500%.

      We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
      Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
      Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
      Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

      Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
      We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
      Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

      Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
      The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
      The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

      All Percentiles
      As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
      U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
      Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.

      For the next two weeks, the Archaeology quest for Spirit of Eche'ro is available on live servers, so don't forget to get the rare mount before it's gone for 6 months!
      How to Get the Spirit of Eche'ro Mount
      1. Download MapCoords or some other add-os that displays coordinates in the game.
      2. Teleport to Azsuna from the Stormwind/Orgrimmar Portal Room or use your Dalaran Hearthstone to reach Dalaran (Legion) if you have one in your inventory.
      3. Seek out Archaeology Trainer Dariness the Learned in Dalaran at 41,26 and learn Archaeology if you already haven't.
      4. Accept The Right Path quest from the Archaeology Trainer and make your way to Thunder Totem in Highmountain.
      5. Talk to Lessah Moonwater to accept Laying to Rest. For the quest, you must collect 600 Bone Fragments of Eche'ro by rotating between four digsites in Highmountain. The exact locations with coords are outlined below.
      Digsite 1: Darkfeather Valley (50, 44) Digsite 2: Dragon's Falls (58, 72) Digsite 3: Path of Huin (44, 72) Digsite 4: Whitewater Wash (39, 65) it takes roughly around 2 hours to get the mount.
      Spirit of Eche'ro
      "The spirit of Huln Highmountain's pet moose."

      Hurry up! You only have until August 21, 2024, to get the mount!

      MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
      With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

      We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
      When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
      MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
