The Notorious Draenor Mythic+ Leaver Troll Returns

Recommended Posts

Yes, he's back - or perhaps never really left in the first place. The player from the Draenor EU server who instantly leaves Mythic+ groups after a run starts, as "retribution" for getting kicked in previous tuns is at it again!

In case you're not familiar with the story, a Warrior from Draenor EU was purposefully abandoning groups right after a Mythic+ key started and leaving a message explaining that he was doing it because he himself had gotten kicked in previous runs, and would continue to mess up groups until a certain number was reached. Here's one of  the original messages from back in March, when we first noticed this "gem" of a player:

Reported by: HomieeJo.

The player seemed to do this for quite a while, a month or more even, as we also received reports of him still going in April. However, we hadn't heard from him in quite a while - until last week when he popped back up in DowntownAd1940's group, with a much less descriptive and much more relaxed and even apologetic message:

M+Troll.jpg

Apologies aside, he still left the group very quickly, as DowntownAd1940 aka Леснаятыква-гордунни from the above screenshot explained when we asked about what happened:

Quote

The story is simple, he joined and by the time the loading screen disappeared he was gone (which was surprising cause I'm loading goddamn fast xD).

At this point the big question is whether he has really been doing this since March actively, messing up players' keys on purpose whenever he got kicked in regular runs himself (and it seems he's not that good at the game either, with so many "causeless" kicks affecting him), or if he took a break and is now back at it. We'll definitely be keeping an eye out and hopefully the many, MANY reports he's receiving will result in some more permanent form of punishment from Blizzard.

If you're just dying to find out the Warrior's name (if nothing else to relieve some of the pressure from the other poor Draenor EU Warriors who might be suffering the consequences), you can dig around for and find it over in the most recent reddit thread , but he may have already changed it since then.

People like him are the reason why Blizz needs to add a penalty for leaving a certain amount of keys in a period of time. Because this is literally griefing.

Considering there would be chat logs for this, it seems like something that should be easily actionable.

The wow community is slowly killing itself at this point.
Blizzard doesn't need to make fuckup's anymore.

Why isn't his account and email permabanned?  Or is he getting around it?

Look, I'm not a "performance" person, but I think it's important for people to understand their limits.  I don't care how good or bad people actually play, but don't waste OTHER PEOPLE'S  time.  It's not cool and doing so intentionally should be a perma-ban offense.

Who gets kicked from M+ runs?

lol

Like the group will literally kill itself trying to complete then leave if it's not possible.

my guess is he got replaced before the key started

tbh I feel for him, removing a player frpm mythic+ after key started should be allowed, if a player dosnt like the group he can leave.

that would be a problem for higher keys i guess. there should be a vote like thing to surrender with a CD after every vote, if at least 3 people vote yes its over and no penalty or something like that would be better in my opinion

This "treat people poorly and as a reward we'll feature you on icyveins!" thing icyveins does has always made zero sense to me.

If you'e going to continue to hide his name so your readers can't actually protect themselves against him, what is the point of continuing to give him articles on this site?

Not reading the article to the end and very easily finding out his name (and it was always going to be in the comments anyway) always makes zero sense to me.

The point is to call out the behavior of this person and the way the system allows him to do this. The end-goal is that maybe Blizzard can see this type of behavior as damaging and possibly enact some system changes because of it (or ban the person in question permanently, as THEY absolutely know their name). Personally I would call out the guy in an instant, but this isn't my personal blog, and in general it's not a good idea for a site like Icy Veins to start calling people out and witch-hunting them (I'm talking about THIS article exclusively, in all previous articles like this, the image was NOT censored by us, but by the reddit users submitting them). I did leave a very easy opportunity to find the name out at the end of the article, but if that was too much effort for you then I don't really know what to tell you.

Also, as a side-note, I'm not sure what exactly you think is "rewarding" about being called an absolute piece of garbage and then increasing the odds of not getting invited to groups in the future (because again, in each and every one of these posts, you could find out his name in about 1-2 minutes if you cared about it at all).

Hopefully you'll see me posted on r/wow soon.

If you mean by doing what this awful person is doing, then we might, just so Blizzard can more easily ban you.

Don’t hide his name, people will stop inviting him to keys, solved?

Except name change exists and other players might pick that old name and then get blacklisted for no reason. Again, personally I'd do it, since the odds of the above are slim, but I'm not going to use Icy Veins as a platform to call people out that I think are terrible.

Why are you going out of your way to insist the name is in the article when you acknowledged it's not? The name obviously exists on reddit. And yet the article was written and posted here- not reddit.

You 5 seconds ago: "what are you talking about, the name was given"
You 5 seconds later: "what are you talking about, the name should not be given"

I don't believe that you truly don't understand how dedicating multiple articles to one player's repeated behavior on a site like icyveins is not rewarding bad behavior. But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree here. I'm happy letting our comments speak for themselves and letting people make up their own minds.

Let me explain the bewilderment: the name should not be given directly in an article like this. A way to find out the name I'd say is borderline, but I felt strongly enough to lean on the "it's ok to give a tool/way to find the name out" and so I added that instead. I have to say I'm not 100% sure that was the right thing to do here mind you, but I hate behavior like this enough to lean on the "it's ok to do it this way" side. That way people that actually might need the name because it might affect their playing (aka those that could potentially be grouped with the person) can find out with a slight amount of effort while those that just want to scream someone's "evil name" into the void won't bother.

I still genuinely don't understand how this could be considered rewarding anything though, is public shaming considered a reward these days? In my view these articles are along the line of "how is this guy not permabanned yet???" and might lead to that if Blizzard notice. Genuinely don't see your logic, but as you say I guess it's an individual thing.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
