Updated With Official Response - Warning: New World Auctions Do Not Pay Out Gold if Sold While Offline and More

Update: Amazon Games have posted an official response on this matter, clarifying that they are working on a fix and that all players will get the gold that they haven't received:

Amazon LogoOffline Gold and Transfer Issues (Source)

Hi all,

We are aware of issues regarding the trading post where players are not receiving the gold from their sales and being blocked by active contracts. We have identified a few root causes.

One that was introduced with our patch was players not receiving gold/items from completed sell/buy orders on the trading post while offline. We are currently testing a fix for this and will be deploying it as soon as we are confident. Players who encounter this issue WILL receive their missing gold/items when the fix goes live. At this time, this may block you from transferring servers.

Secondly, we are aware of a few states that will block players from transferring due to having active contracts, even if all of their contracts appear closed. This includes players who are unable to cancel active contracts. The team is currently working on finding a fix for this issue and will be issuing item/coin refunds where appropriate.

Once we have more information, we will share it and for the time being, it is listed on our Known Issues list and our Weekly Update Bug Megathread 947.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

_______________________________________________________

Today's patch seems to have caused a lot of havoc on the New World Trading Post, as players are failing to receive any gold from sold auctions if the sale happens while they are offline, nor are they receiving bought items while offline (but the gold is taken for them).

This is a bit of a warning as you may want to wait with posting anything to the Trading Post, although it seems likely that the gold will be returned at some point. The current main theory is that it might just be a bug with when the gold arrives, as partially sold posts actually do reward the gold when cancelled, meaning it's possible that the trades are just "stuck" in some sort of queue and not actually completely gone. There are other indicators for this, as some players are reporting not being able to server transfer due to "active" items on the Trading Post while they actually have none, but they have sold things while offline which are likely just pending and marked as active, thus blocking the transfer. Unfortunately this is also affecting items bought while offline, as the gold is taken from players, but the items bought are not received. Here's the main post on the matter from the official New World forums:

[UPDATE]
Guys, me and my clan tested the issue and found what’s wrong!

We’ve placed an item for sale, bought it - gold received, all is well.

Afterwards we’ve tested same, but when the seller has fully logged out (after his character model dissappeared from world - item was bought during offline, 0 gold received. Logged in with the exact amount of gold as I used to have before logging out.

Same goes for items you were buying while offline, you lose the gold you put in, and receive no items for it.

/ Exact description and order:
Dear NW team,

Yesterday I’ve logged out of the game around 6:30 PM CET (do not remember the exact amount of gold i’ve logged out but it was over 3k 100%), I’ve placed 900 infused silk for a sale for 3.85 and 3.90 coin which in total value when sold is just short of 3.5k gold (which all got sold throughout the night), and when I logged in, I’ve received a housing compensation message (not sure if i was supposed to be compensated, but I did not regardless, this happened right after the 1.0.4 update), then looked into my completed orders, all infused silk is sold, and my gold has no increased. i’ve checked if there’s a chance i might have bought something in buy-order, and nothing was bought, in short, no silk, no gold, no house compensation. Please check the logs because I’m 100% sure this is not right.

Sell orders were placed right before logging out

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Nunchaki

NW Team! PLEASE HELP

Amazon Games are aware of the issue and hopefully this is jut a matter of delayed payment and not actual gold loss, as the total amounts that would be lost are huge. Below is the main discussion thread of the matter, although there are plenty popping up as players notice what's happening on their own:

Battle Royale and Capture the Flag are two all-new PvP modes coming to New World: Aeternum in 2025!
The PvP scene in New World: Aeternum is about to get even more interesting in 2025 with the recent living roadmap that the team shared earlier this week. Within the living roadmap was a mention of two all-new game modes: Battle Royale and Capture the Flag.
Both of these new PvP modes are categorized in their "In Development" stage of their living roadmap, and very limited details were shared thus far, but the community has already been filled with a range of questions on how they plan on implementing this, including the following:
Can "Paladin" builds (Heavy Life Staff and Flail) participate in this future Battle Royale mode due to their drastically high ability to self-heal and take minimal damage? Will the rewards for these new PvP modes be as good (or better) than the existing Outpost Rush PvP mode? How soon will these new PvP modes actually be implemented? These are just a few of the many, many questions that have already been in discussion with the New World: Aeternum community. Ultimately, the news of these new PvP modes (and mention of a new OPR map coming soon), the future of PvP in New World: Aeternum is looking bright.
