Guest ODAE Report post Posted September 7, 2022 Why is there no strengths and weaknesses portion to this guide like there is on every other healer? Also, doesnt this guide need an update?

Guest Soul Report post Posted August 25 You have outdated information at the end here in the Synastry section about Living Dead, this is how Living Dead worked ages ago. It got a rework in mid Endwalker, it now requires that you stop healing, the opposite of what it used to do. That's just a pet peeve of mine as a dark knight who also plays healer, the fact that this particularly information would not be updated rubs me the wrong way. I hadn't initially changed it because Living Dead still fundamentally requires the DRK to be healed, and that is still one of the few notable uses for the kind of burst healing that Synastry enables. The Living Dead rework essentially removed the penalty for healing the DRK too soon, though it is still preferable to avoid healing them until the last second to maximize the value of the pseudo-invulnerability and ignore as much damage as possible. The rework also enabled DRKs to reliably heal themselves out of Walking Dead, though, so Synastry is certainly less relevant, with the exception of using Living Dead during downtime when the DRK doesn't have an enemy to hit for self healing. I've pushed an update to more accurately describe Synastry's niche relevance for handling downtime Living Dead or quickly healing a DRK/WAR to a safe HP threshold at the end of Living Dead/Holmgang in a pinch, as that's a more realistic scenario with modern encounter design.
