Sosila 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2014 Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/blackhand/Ashleyowlzen/advanced Logs: http://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/9xVKYPhfHpBnbFwJ Hey, ive never really had any big Problems with my Damage but i never really tried to rank myself or cared that much about it. But now since the Content is over and i have pretty much all the Items i need, i want to try and go for some good Numbers. I also just joined a new Raid Guild and im feeling that my Dps is way too low for my Gear and that i can do more than that. I play the normal Rota, and try to get every SS Procc but sometime it just procs twice or three Times in 0.5 Seconds. Also dont look at the Protectors Fight, we pulled too early and my Cds werent back up since i used them twice on Immerseus. Greets
Kazistrasz 216 Report post Posted June 25, 2014 Looking at your Malkorok, I'm comparing it to my own from last night in a 3:42 fight (vs. your 3:55 fight). What we're looking for is the difference between my 410k DPS at 577 ilvl and your 387k DPS at 587. We both had near-perfect DoT uptimes - yours at 99%/99% and mine at 99%/98%. The first big difference is our Nature's Grace uptime - yours was only 80%, but I kept mine at 94%. This means you're not cycling quick enough. When I look at your DoT casts, you're not refreshing them too quickly, which means the lack of cyclinc has to be coming somewhere else. The next thing I want to check for is for casting the wrong spell at the wrong time. So, here's the graph of all your Starfire, Starsurge, and Wrath casts vs. your Lunar, Solar, and CA buffs. Only once did you cast the wrong spell, a Wrath in the middle of Lunar following a long string of Starsurges (my assumption is you just didn't notice you'd changed directions), so I'm not seeing that issue. What I am seeing is there are often large caps of time without casts in there. It tells me you're moving too much when you move. Try to minimize your movement as best you possibly can. Obviously, there's some you can't do anything about, especially on a fight like Malkorok. But, I have the feeling you're moving at least twice as much as is actually necessary. The last thing I'm seeing is that I had 88 Shooting Stars procs, while you only had 70. Part of this is just unfortunate RNG for you, while the other part I think is simply not refreshing your DoTs when you get Tempus Repit procs. Looking at this graph of your Moonfire/Sunfire casts vs. your Tempus Repit procs, I can see that's the case. Faster DoTs = more ticks = more SS procs. Big things for you going forward: Snapshot Tempus Repit with Moonfire and Sunfire, and be more efficient with movement.
Sosila 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2014 Thanks for the advice so far, pretty much expected this Stuff, but i cant think that this is all, just because i dont have the perfect Dot Uptime with my Proccs cant be such a huge Dps loss. I also dont like looking at Malkorok, since its pretty much dependant on how often you get knocked up and when and how often you have to move. I like Iron Juggneraut alot more since atleast in our Strat i dont have to move at all and can just spam Damage could you maybe look at some more Bosses or atleast at Juggernaut. Like i said, i cant think that this is the only thing im doing not 100% right. Greets
Kazistrasz 216 Report post Posted June 26, 2014 Not snapshotting with your Tempus Repit procs can be a huge loss. As often as it procs for boomkin, even on average RNG if you snapshot both DoTs once during every proc, it's 6 extra chances for a SS proc per TR proc. You had 9 TR procs in the course of that 3:55 fight. If you'd hit them all just once (assuming you hit none even though I think you hit one or two IIRC), you'd have gotten an extra 54 ticks, meaning about 25 of them critting on average RNG with your gear, for about 8 extra SS procs. Going off the averages of the other Starsurges from that parse, those 8 procs were worth over 5.6M damage. Popping an extra 5.6M onto the 91M you put out would be a 6% increase, and would add 23k DPS(e) to your parse to put you over the 400k mark to 410k. The difference between 387k and 410k, or the difference between hitting those snapshots and not hitting those snapshots, is also the difference between putting up a 74th percentile parse and a 92nd percentile parse. It's actually a pretty big deal. For any DPS spec, I look at Malkorok by default if it's available. Many guilds have major downtime on Iron Juggernaut because they take the safe strat of just being on the other side of the room during Siege Phases. Plus, part of being a good raider is not only doing high damage but efficiently moving out of bad things or into good things to minimize damage taken while putting out DPS. Malkorok has lots of little things to react to like that, while Jug can often involve needing to run for a few seconds if Borer Drill is on you. The snapshotting wasn't the only thing I mentioned - the other was just that: working on movement efficiency in a spec where movement can be crippling to your DPS that, along with more SS procs, will drastically help you improve your cycling speed. If fixing snapshotting could bring you up 18 percentiles, improving the movement to cycle much more quickly on top of that would probably put you from a 74th percentile parse to a 95th percentile parse or better.
