How to link a log

Hi guys,

 

I am not sure where should I post the thread (moderator please move my post if needed).

 

I have an issue trying to link my combat log for analysis / discussion. I have uploaded my combat log to warcraftlog but cant seem to find a way to link the log in my thread here. Direct copy-paste would not work. The 'link' option on icyvein is horrendous. The "OK" and "CANCEL" option on the pop up does nothing and would not go away even if I try to close it. It end up eating my wall of text after I have to resort to clicking refresh.

 

Searching the forum return with very vague answer.

 

Can anyone kind soul please explain step by step on how to link a log?

Direct copy and paste works well enough for me, haven't had a single problem with it.  Just copy and paste the log's URL and viola, it works!

Example: http://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/M4CYNAanrgcyRfjw

If, instead of a direct link, you can type the text you want to be the link, highlight it and select link in the reply options, and copy/paste the URL there.

1. Mouse pointer move to Warcraftlog URL box. Click the URL and then 'copy'

2. go to "Reply to this topic" on icyvein and press CTRL "V".

Can you copy paste the link to somewhere else?

 

What actualy happens? "not working" isnt going to help much, do you highlight the url before copying?

And yes, direct copy paste of the link should work.

Hi all, thanks for your response.

 

I am sorry I have been vague about what exactly is the issue. My problem is I am able to highlight and copy the warcraft log URL. I can copy paste to other sites such as reddit fine however by pasting the copied URL link to the textbox in this site, nothing happen. The URL will not appear in the textbox.

Ok guys. This is an update.

 

Received a response via whisper and it worked. I am able to copy-paste fine in Google Chrome but will not work in IE.

Well there's your problem, you were using IE.
