[General] Plans for the future

Hello fellow mages of Icy Veins,

 

For the past few weeks I have been a moderator here on the mage part of the forums. However in this time I haven't managed to do anything really informational except maybe a post about Fingers of Frost pooling and why it eventually shouldn't be done, contrary to my past beliefs.

 

So some of you might be wondering what's coming? Untill 6.0 hits are we just contempt with analyzing logs and giving dps tips and quirks? Actually no.

 

My first crusade here is going to be to organize the way the forum is organized. Currently everyone is just basically asking his question in the title creating a very random list of threads. As you may have noticed I have already started editing titles in order to reflect which spec they acount for (or [General] if they are ,.... general). I do understand not everyone is going to read this post and adapt to that way of presenting things, but I will just constantly edit the titles whilst trying to keep the essence of the title the same. Would certainly help me out though if each individual did it for himself :)

 

The second big plan is writing a full Proving Grounds guide for Frost AND Arcane mage (For the crazy ones like me who actually wanted to do that). I have to say though, as Frost I do not have that much experience, I just went in and killed it. So i would be eternally grateful if anyone believes he knows something about PG's, some tip or quirk on how to handle a certain wave, that you mail me so I can include that as well. I will obviously be doing tests myself and optimizing my play there, so if I believe that whatever you sent isn't as optimal as another strategy I won't mention it. Don't be offended by it you can always comment with your ideas and you shall never be smited for it!

 

Now the third big project that I have going on is the use of Simcraft and the new APL's found by fellow mages like Komma, Cycobi and Frosted and translating them into testing stuff that could not be either proven nor even simulated before. An example is the whole idea of the Frost to 14242 rest to mastery which has not been proven  (at least as far as I know of) and is basically just a practice which has provided good enough results. As such Akraen's guide's will be updated (by me though so do not except any fancy visual nor beautiful graphs). 

 

So basically this is just a heads up.

Suggestion for organizing the forum: add tags to threads!

 

I moderate an sc2 strategy forum, here is what we came up with http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/338554-update-sc2-strategy-forum-guidelines-read-first scroll down a bit for the different thread tags. Everything that isn't one of those goes into general ask a simple question thread, or in race-specific threads.
