Heroic Garrosh - First Intermission

Recommended Posts

Ok, so still pushing that Heroic Garrosh stuff.  We have gotten through P3 but it seems we are struggling more and more on the first intermission since we started to solo tank. I understand the aspect of the intermission to test group synergy and ability but I'm not trying to ask what to do with my comp, I'm asking more about soloing a pack.  I know some people have a magic flow that rips through them and I know my gear at 584 can shit on this stuff.  Doing easily 8-10mil as it is and more when I get some lucky SB's but if I can solo one with more ease, that would really help the push and carry some slower players.

My current setup is to duo the middle with a Boomie.  I currently DS, RoF the side packs, glyphed Havoc the right add, CB the middle, Shadowfury, Conflag x2, SB then I switch to the one on the left which the Boomie has solar beamed while he runs off. Me and him do great this way and its easy and reliable but if I can do more for my raid I'd love to do that.  So if you can improve on this rotation or give me a nice solo manipulation then I'd be very grateful. I can give the comp if you'd like but assume I have a healer stun at the ready if need be.

There are a lot of factors to determine here.  What your raid group consists of, the interrupts and aoe available to you, how many combat rogues you have (LOL), and the split of which you put your groups.  What worked best for us in the long run was to have one groups of two go bottom left (myself and a combat rogue), another group of two go bottom right (a boomkin and our tank), and the rest of the group burn middle and split 3-3 on top right/left.  Once the bottom two groups are done we go help top left and right.

This works for us but might not work for you.  Progession Garrosh is full of attempts just stalling on the first intermission even if you have pushed deep into the fight.

You're in a ten man, yes? Use one of the healers to help you, not another DPS. I do one group with a healer, Zag does another group with a tank.

My rotation starts when Garrosh hits 10% the first time, I stop casting conflag untill 3 seconds before he starts to pull us up when I pop both on him, the second hitting as Im mid air.

With 6 stacks of back draft, I glyph havoc add #1, CB add #2, SF all three, CB add #2 again. If  that doesn't out right kill them then the CB dot+SB will. Conflag add #3, CB, SB, walk away.

The healer I have with me just needs to interrupt add #3 once. It helps if they can back up interrupt /stun more then that but just the one is all I *need*.

Sub 575 ilvl gear I needed to use my second pot and DS. 575-580 I needed DS or the second pot. Now at 585 I don't need anything and just smash smash.

This is the totally bitchn drawing I made for Kaz when I schooled him how to do it

Green = add #1

Yellow = add #2

Red = add #3

Purple smiley = you.

Awesome Locky, just what I was looking for. We are 10m obviously or I wouldn't be even considering soloing haha. We have a bear tank solo tanking now and he can easily solo a pack with Berserk and a quick stun from a passing cap totem. I seriously have no idea how this place is even a problem for us at our ilvls, me, the tank, and the Boomie are essentially killing 2-3 each while everyone else struggles to pump out 1 kill before we do it. Obviously interupts are a large issue but even then we have failed speed when no one fucks up. Just want to try and push one by myself to help the group get over the hump and I will be sure to add this to my list of add rotations. I will probably keep a Paladin heals with me for that to get the third locked down. I'll update on how it goes.

That's who I normally have also, but ours is a cow so he has the AoE stun that comes in handy from time to time. Otherwise I have the disc priest who makes it even more lulz because he has add #3 at 50% hp by the time I ram a CB up its ass.

Thank you for this information! I just started progressing Garrosh yesterday and we have only succeeded in the intermission once and that was a lucky shot. And same as you, i have a paladin healer with me =)

Thanks for making me wiser!

Rekt. Amazing. 10/10. Had our DK drive-by silence the third and I pooped on it. Too bad our problem wasn't always actual speed... For those that don't know, TAG GARROSH as soon as hes fucking active with an instant.  He apparently casts until interrupted so it took a Fel Flame to find out.

This is why you have tanks target and taunt immediately.  They can also run over to the opposite side of him and try to bait the first Annihilate away from the group who may be scrambling for a last second buff.

Ha I also found this out by fel flame!

I usually kill 2/3 adds on the front left when you enter T1 with our tauren rdruid stomping and out mage killing 1, Myself and mage both then run to far right of garrosh pack, SF and fnb conflag them down. Shit drops easy. But congrats!

This works pretty awesome!  At least once I had a couple of tries to get used to it, although I had to have my assist wait to engage until I got my first chaos bolt off (If they hit first, sometimes I would still be on chaos bolt when they started casting).

I'm getting my side down in time, and have smoothed it out so they are not getting casts off, but our group is still struggling on the overall time.

I am thinking that maybe we need to have the other side in front be solo dps too (Probably our warrior or rogue, either one seems to be able to wreck them too witch CDs).

I've shared some of the tips from here on intermission, but it seems like we are struggling on that, and have yet to get to him in time. :(

Pull them with Rain of Fire then, and have your assist be the first stun.

Or you can do it the way I initially learned it, being the first stun.

I would pull with Rain of Fire on all 3, then Conflagrate x2 on the closest add, before mouseover Havocing the left one.

At this point I would use by Shadowfury, as the first stun.

Follow this up with Chaos Bolts and finish with a nice serving of Shadowburn.

Nowadays I don't run Havoc Glyph and I'm the second stun, so I conflag the boss as we're going up and just immediately Havoc and Chaos Bolt, obviously pulling with RoF first.

That would work too, but I think I'll just stick with the way Lockybalboa mentioned, since I have it smoothed out and working well.   The issue is the rest of the raid... well, not so much that, but our strat in getting the middle and back left/right groups down in time.

You are making sure to help the other groups once you're done and not just camping by your orb right?

That is correct.

It could be that we've just had one night at it too, and just need to all get tighter at it.  *shrug*

Yeah probably. We had issues the first night, but most of the team was around 570ilvl. I don't know what your situation is, and 10 man is a tougher deal anyway so set up can be crucial.

You can start using second pots until you get the hang of it.

Also people can save cooldowns. If you have a combat rogue, he should be saving his second killing spree for the intermission, for example.
