wow Tyrael's Charger Mysteriously Disappearing from Players 11 Years After Promotion Ended

Tyrael's Charger, the Annual Pass promotion mount from 2011, is mysteriously disappearing from the players' inventories 11 years after the promotion ended.

Tyrael's Charger was a 2011 promotion mount rewarded to players who subscribed to World of Warcraft for one year. Back then, the eligible account also received a free copy of Diablo 3. The mount has since been removed from the game and is unobtainable in NA and EU regions.

According to a report, a player had their Tyrael's Charger mount removed quite recently after sending in a ticket. They got dismounted in Orgrimmar and no longer have the mount. 

Apparently, the mount's icon won't appear on the action bar unless you previously owned the mount.

Other reports claim their mount was completely taken out of the mount book sometime after Cataclysm/Pandaria.

Bumbletowne said the same thing happened with their Spirit of Competition battle pet back in 2008.

Some were able to get the mount back after it was removed in Cataclysm.

While Blizzard hasn't provided an official statement on the issue, the community came up with their own theories about the removal.

I can confirm that I still have my Charger. I finished out the year for the pass. The mount has never disappeared from my journal, yet.

I do think its possible that the mount and D3 were removed from people who cancelled their sub before the year was up. If I recall, the Annual Pass was something you committed to but did not prevent people from unsubbing. I can not recall if you get a warning that you would lose the benefits if you did. I do recall them announcing that 1 million accounts had signed up for the Annual Pass.

I finished my year long pass as well and still have my mount in my inventory. I've not had an issue with mounting on it from my action bar and it's never vanish it's a very loyal companion 🙂

You never know, they might be doing a Bungie....and releasing it via the ingame store, but want people to pay for it, despite getting it via an annual pass.....Bungie is known to remove items from the collections and even the item itself from the slot......some companies can be so disgusting.

Got it back then and never lost it. Checked 3 minutes ago its there. Subscripted since march 2005 without interuptions. EU.

I had the mount I messaged a GM and asked them about switching my pre order of diablo 3 to the deluxe edition and if this would this effect my mount at all, he said it wouldn't. After a year my mount disappeared, I then opened a ticket and explained the situation. The GM  replied and give me the mount back, after about another 6 months it disappeared again, so I opened up another ticket and then was told I didn't complete a full year of payments, didn't think this was possible as I was playing wow the whole time, I was guttered about the mount but didn't bother opening up another ticket.

I did the sub at the time.  Also became an enthusiastic forever-Diablo-III player anytime the world is so awful I just plain need to smash some zombies and show the Butcher he can't beat me.

I was just on Tyrael's charger earlier this week, while taking a Broken Isles flightpath from Dalaran, which selects from among your Favorite mounts.

I like having different mounts for different characters, it lets me show attitude.  

What I wonder though;  is this the same bug that at random times "loses" the purchased transmog sets from the store?  They come back, none the worse for wear, on characters where I left things alone, but my Pandaren got annoyed and put on the cosmetic pantsuit's actual extra copy**, so her clothes would stop reverting.

** if you get a cosmetic when you already have got its Appearance collected, the extra is still in your bags, and still an item of its type.

I'm on the same boat. Ever since I read the post about Tyrael's Charger disappearing, I've checked mine and it's still there.
