Quicker Ad Reporting in the Group Finder

Recommended Posts

P8bM0tU.jpg

Blizzard released a hotfix on live servers that lets you quickly report ads in the Group Finder.

Group reporting has become a lot easier on live servers. If you find a group in the Group Finder containing ads, you can now simply right-click and report it. The whole process has been simplified into two mouse clicks!

Hopefully, this will help combat the multitude of groups that violate the game's Terms of Service.

Thank goodness. The process of opening a window and selecting several option was quite annoying. Sometimes you just to report the adverts quickly to get them out of the list.

While this is nice to have, it doesn't solve the overall problem. For every boosting group you report and take off the list, there are 3 others that are added to it. Boosting has become a plague on WoW and Blizzard is complacent to allow it to continue because so long as boosts exist, people will buy them, and for some people to buy them, they will buy WoW tokens to trade for the gold to buy said boost, directly giving Blizzard more money. One could view it as WoW being P2W now since you can just drop real money into WoW tokens, sell those tokens for gold, and use that gold to buy boosts and get any item you want, a real shame.

thats not how it works. you can buy 100 raid boss boosts or m+ boost and still dont get the item you want. due to rating and sites where you can check with whom that guy ran his m+ keys or if you see that guy did a boss way more often then the others people wont invite you because you are boosted. so in general its a nice to have for alts, people with less time, people who come back and wanna play with their friends but they arent up 2 date, getting "mandatory" raid items you need for m+ or getting "mandatory" m+ items for raiding.

im normally not taking any boosts because i can achive that on my own or with the help of my tank premade but due to late shifts i cant raid anymore because im home around 23:30/0:00 and there is just no raid guild raiding at that time on my realm so for the very first time i bought boosts for Kel to get Forbidden Necromantic Tome which never dropped for me.

another example, rogues still want sylvanas daggers, most likely only way to get a grp for sylvanas myth is to hire a boost grp. i see rogues regularly askin in /2 for that because never ever is a grp open for it.

also making gold is pretty simple and easy. i dont get why some people struggle with that, since legion im paying everything with gold and i just buy mats in AH and craft things and sell them with my main. never made as much gold as i did this addon with legendary crafting and im a casual AH guy im not even using TSM but my old auctioneer. only anoying part is that you have to relist your stuff every once in a while but if you put something in around 4 am you are the lowest for several hours. also i sold many in /2 since the boosting spam is gone.

im ok with how the rules are now, advertisers have to be max level (advertiser have to take part in the boosting grp which isnt possible with level 1) and have to be on your realm otherwise report them, i got plenty thank yous from blizzard allrdy :)

Have fun playing in an inflated economy where your playtime is worth less than a mcdonald job and competing against people who dump a few salaries worth of gold into the economy every raid release.

thx. since a month play time is ~13€ a month its obvsl less worth then a mcdonalds job which earns you enough for a living in most countries.

and about your 2nd part, the high investment of gold from guilds who participate in world first races, their raid member earn their monthly income with this, it got a bit out of hand lately but it doesnt destroy the game thought. i dont earn my monthly income by playing wow so this is ok for me.

McDonalds pays way above the living wage in most countries since its a stressful job (not sure about outside of Europe though). Spending 20e for a piece of loot is way easier than sitting for 2 hours in a raid without knowing whether you'll even kill it. This ruins the game once the japanese/korean pay to win mindset comes here.

i looked that up and in nearly every european country they pay minimum wage but anyways that doesnt matter and was an overall strange statement made by you.

so how do you spend 20€ for a piece of loot and have a guarantee to get it from raid? personally, as i said, i have no time for raiding and i bought several Kel'Thuzad runs (6 for my mage, prices between 70k - 200k) and never got the trinket. also bought 4 Kel'Thuzad boosts for my twink warrior and never got the weapon. so overall i probably wasted 1 mio gold on this which equals 3-4 wow token at that time (i regularly buy token for gold to pay game time or buy services or games) token prices had been aroun 250-270k. that would have been 60-80€ for no items at all.

The only place you looked that up is your *filtered*, for example in Slovakia, companies must disclose the salary by law, the lowest job offer (student position mcdonalds part time worker) is paid 4.90e+ while the minimum wage is 3.713e/hr. They also get bonuses for overtime, holidays and weekends which is a considerable chunk of their working hours.

As for the second part, it's purely your problem you got scammed, GDKP runs are a way safer route to acquire gear with real money investment, you just get in and pay WHEN it drops instead of paying for "boost runs". This adds the extra layer of gold/money management that may not be present in pure boost run, which may be too much for someone.

You also state you have no time to raid but later mention your game time and services are bought with gold. Where do you get the gold  then? If it's not the token you're either spending time in game which contradicts your statement about not having time for raiding, or using RMT services.

why does mcdonalds salaries matter for you? your example was bad and not even in relation to the topic. fine if it is like that in slovakia. in most european countries (most doesnt mean in every) mcdonalds pays the minimum wage. i wont look up every country for you so as an example, germany, netherlands, spain and out of europe, UK pays also minimum wage. look up the rest if you like yourself.

at least in germany they get paid 450€ for christmas, which isnt standart but doesnt change the fact that they get minimum wage so all bonuses, overtimes, holidays and weekend extras doesnt change that fact. can we drop this sensless example now?

what? as if someone offers such a system. do the work and might dont get paid for it because no item dropped is plain bs or extremly rare, i never seen such an offer and im playing on the biggest german realm.

edit: seems like those  runs are a thing in wow classic but not in retail due to many reasons. also GDKP run means that someone offers gold for a raid item and the one who offered the most gets the item, at the end of the run gold is shared equally between everyone in raid, even people who bought items get the same amount gold as everyone. nothing close to what you wrote and doesnt even sound like a boost run since people have to participate normally in the raid, according to buffed, reddit and official wow forum posts

Each time you report an advertisement even if the toon listing the adv is suspended or banned another one pops up immediately. Problem is Blizz allow L1 toons to list in LFG. If that was lifted to say L10 then each of these miscreants would need to level their diisposable toons to L10 and that would potentially hurt them.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
