We have a very fun event coming soon, as the Team Liquid/Raider.io organized Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am tournament is back for its second year, and you could even compete in it!

The tournament features professional MDI players getting teamed up with amateur players, with teams consisting of 2 pros, 2 amateurs and 1 content creator! 6 teams will fight it out to see who can reach the highest key in 5 hours, and proceeds from the whole thing go to charity!

The event itself will take place on July 30th, but registrations for mere mortals (aka the amateurs) are closing this Sunday, July 17th! So see if you meet the requirements and perhaps throw your hats in the ring, as the 12 lucky winners will be chosen on July 18th - and they've even excluded players with too high M+ scores!

How To Register

As long as you meet the eligibility requirements below, you can register to be a part of the Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am, and play alongside your MDI favourites!

To register, follow these steps:

  • Ensure your Battle.net and Discord accounts are synced to your Raider.IO user profile.
  • Click on the Registration link here and follow the steps.
  • Your registration will be confirmed after submission.
  • Wait to see if you have been chosen via the random lottery at 9am PDT / 6pm CEST on July 18th! Selected players will be announced in the #pro-am-chat channel of the Raider.IO Discord.

Eligibility Requirements and Rules

As mentioned above, only eligible players will have their registrations accepted for the event. In order to be eligible, you must meet ALL of the following requirements:

  • You must have an active World of Warcraft Blizzard account that has been in good standing for at least 6 months.
  • Your World of Warcraft account must be based in either the Americas/Oceania or Europe Regions.
  • You must have at least one character on your account that has earned a Mythic+ Score of at least 500 within Shadowlands Season 3.
  • You cannot have any characters on your account that have earned a Mythic+ Score of 3250 or higher within Shadowlands Season 3.
  • Your Battle.net and Discord accounts must be synced to your Raider.IO profile.

Selected players will be announced at 9am PDT on July 18th in the Raider.IO Discord. Players will be pinged in the #pro-am-chat channel as well as messaged directly by a Raider.IO representative and emailed at the registered contact address. Players will have 48 hours to respond with their acceptance of the position - any players who have not replied by 9am PDT on July 20th will have their spots rerolled. Registration is open until 11:59pm PDT on July 17th - don’t delay!

Raider.IO Score will be validated at the time of registration, so the number of entries you receive will be based on your Score at the time of registration. Keep this in mind if you are on the cusp of the Amateur Score Window!

You MUST be available for the full duration of the event on Saturday, July 30th to participate, so please do not register unless you are certain you can be there.

This is sure to be a very entertaining tournament and the first edition managed to raise over $23,000 for charity, so it's absolutely a great WoW event which we definitely hope to see more of! Here are the full details:

The 2nd Annual Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am is here!

July 6, 2022 - Team Liquid, one of the most successful and well-established esports organizations in the world, is teaming up with prominent World of Warcraft player-vs-environment (PvE) platform Raider.IO, to bring back an exciting dungeon-themed competition with the goal of raising money for some incredible charities focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts in gaming and the world beyond. The return of this unique and exciting tournament was announced today, and Amateur  Registration is officially open!

What it is:

The Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am will be taking place entirely on the World of Warcraft Tournament Realms, a dedicated in-game server provided by Blizzard Entertainment, where event organizers can specify rule sets and players can compete on an even playing field. 6 teams of 5 players will have 5 total hours to put their best feet forward and push Mythic+ keystone dungeons as high as they can go. They’ll be given a group of dungeons with pre-set affixes and starting keystone levels and will earn points based on the highest level they can complete of each dungeon. The team with the most points at the end of 5 full hours of gameplay wins! Last year the Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am was a speed-running format, but this year it will be adopting a “key-pushing” format, where the goal is to complete dungeons at higher and higher levels. The difficulty of each dungeon scales significantly with each level they go up, so players are in for a pretty wild ride when they get to the high numbers. All 6 teams will be playing simultaneously for the entirety of the playtime, and will have freedom to choose which dungeon(s) to play and
when. This means tons of exciting dungeon action!

When it is:

This event will be taking place on Saturday, July 30th on the Team Liquid Twitch Channel. Broadcast will start at 9am PDT and will end at 3pm PDT. This includes a 30 minute pre-show and a 30 minute post-show with 5 hours of LIVE gameplay.

Charities:

The purpose of the Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am is to raise funds for worthwhile charities doing work that represent the values of the World of Warcraft community. This year, the organizers have decided to focus on charities involved in fostering Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in gaming and the world beyond. This includes organizations such as AbleGamers, The Trevor Project, Girls Who Code, Equal Justice Initiative and more.

Not only is DEI a core element of the charities that will benefit from the event, but the organizers believe it is important to promote DEI within the tournament itself by ensuring a diverse group of players, talent, and behind-the-scenes staff. The goal is to have an event that truly represents the WoW community, because Representation Matters!

The entirety of the $25,000 USD prize pool, generously donated by our amazing sponsors, will be distributed based on each team’s placement at the conclusion of the event, with all 6 teams earning a portion for the charity they have chosen to represent. Beyond the prize pool, viewers and fans will have the opportunity to support these non-profits by donating directly throughout the live event. Last year, after combining the prize pool and direct donations from viewers, over $23k was raised, and the hope is to raise at least $35k this year.

Pro-Am Format:

Pro-Am refers to Professional/Amateur. This is a competition format used commonly in traditional sports, where Amateurs are teamed up with Professionals. It is not often seen in esports, and last year’s inaugural Mythic+ Charity Pro-Am was the first time the format was seen in World of Warcraft.

Each team is made up of 5 players. 2 of these are Professionals - players that have earned money via the Mythic Dungeon International (the MDI), Blizzard’s dungeon-running esport. A 3rd member of each team will be a community influencer or content creator. The final 2 members of each team are the Amateurs - and is open to all players that fall within the eligibility requirements!

Amateurs are chosen via a random lottery from an open registration. Players can learn more about the event, the registration process and eligibility requirements here: https://raider.io/news/378-mythic-plus-charity-pro-am-returns-july-30th.

To register, players will need to go to the signups page on Raider.IO here: https://rio.gg/ProAm2022Reg.

If you have ever wanted the chance to play with some of the biggest names in WoW esports, now is your chance! Signups will be open from July 6th at 1pm PDT until 11:59pm PDT on July 17th.

The Sponsors:

This event could not be possible without the incredible support of gaming add-on and mod platform Overwolf. They are a prominent figure in the gaming industry, and the developers of CurseForge - the premiere place to download, upload, and manage all of your in-game addons!

The organizers would also like to thank both Twitch and Blizzard Entertainment for their continued support. They have been tremendous backers of this event since its inception! More details, such as profiles on the Pros, Influencers, and broadcast Talent will be coming out throughout the month of July, so keep your eyes on the Liquid Guild and Raider.IO social media accounts.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
