[Ret] DPS Help

I recently returned to ret after running prot for the majority of mists, and I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things. Any possible suggestions/constructive criticism for what I can do to help boost my DPS? WoL from Flex 1 and armory attached.

If you could, please do an lfr or something with your usual rotation and so on using http://www.warcraftlogs.com it is both easier on us to help you and a much better tool for you to learn with. As for your armory I'm not seeing anything pop out to me, you do need to replace some pieces to get more haste, and I would truly suggest using Selfless Healer over EF especially since EF requires you to use HP.

What I notice: Never used a Divine Storm on Immerseus 25. There's no way the adds were 100% always spread out to make DS not valuable! Also, since you have your 4set, there's also no way you got 0 procs!

 

Try to remember that a free procced Divine Storm is valued just above Exorcism in your rotation, so burn it off even if its a single target hit. Also remember that even if there are 2 targets together, Divine Storm is listed as better than TV. This means you'll often be using Divine Storm, even if it feels like padding. If you Divine Storm the adds on immerseus, theres no padding. If you Divine Storm all the protectors, its not padding because they all need to die in the end. The reflections on Sha might be padding since they die so fast, but no one really gets yelled at for killing those faster, so you can also Divine Storm them.

 

As Conquest said, it's almost impossible to get good log reads from WoL now, since we've been spoiled with WCL. Data from WoL can often be misleading, so I'd like to strengthen the reminded to use WCL, which will give us excellent data such as # of casts per spell.

My first question: Are you using anything to track inquisition. Inquisition is a big part of what helps our damage and your uptime on it is reasonably high, but you should be aiming for 99-100% on every fight.

 

Next: I'm seeing a very low count of divine storm usage. With none being cast on immerseus, this leads me to believe you aren't taking advantage of your 4 piece proc, which is both very powerful, and free. So I'd suggest you find some way to track that.

 

Those are the 2 bigs things I really noticed that will help. But I'd also suggest you work on using Execution sentence as soon as your Ancient Power (guardian of ancient kings' stacks) hits 12 stacks, or when you have one or both trinket str procs up as that will give you maximum damage from snapshots.
