Hey Budha, if you do not have a faction specific tabard equipped you will receive reputation for your faction specific rep, for Alliance it's the Alliance Vanguard, Horde it's the Horde Expedition but the four main reps (Wyrmrest Accord, Knights of the Ebon Blade, The Argent Crusade and the Kirin Tor) will give you reputation for killing monsters in heroic dungeons with their tabard equipped regardless of what dungeon it is.
